We are counting down to Hollywood's biggest night, the road to the Oscars this Sunday night.
And while this is, of course, a celebration of film, it's also a pretty impressive showcase for food.
And the curtain falls on the big show.
One celebrity chef has the daunting task of feeding all those famished stars.
Our very own Alicia Vitarelli live in L.A. tonight, right there on the red carpet.
Alicia, you've got a preview of what Wolfgang Puck is cooking up this year.
You know, Brian, they let me in the kitchen.
And let me tell you something.
I had to make sure that the food was good for Kate Hudson and Michael B. Jordan
and all of the nominees and winners who have a lucky seat at the Governor's Ball.
This is the hardest ticket to get.
It's where all of the stars will leave the Dolby Theater, go upstairs and dine on Wolfgang Puck's incredible food.
He's got old standbys on the menu and some new things as well.
And if my vote counts, stars are going to be very happy.
What's that movie called?
One Dish After Another.
Yeah, there you go.
One Dish After Another.
It's the best picture in the kitchen.
And celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck's co-star is his son, Byron.
On Sunday, they're feeding 1,600 of Hollywood's biggest and brightest stars.
Show people how big.
Look at that.
Wolfgang says the celebrities love his Japanese Wagyu steak.
I just want to make sure this is good for Emma Stone.
Okay, good.
Perfect.
She will like it?
She will love it.
Okay.
These stars are going to be hungry by the end of this.
Yeah, totally.
You know, most of the people did not eat all day long, so when they come out, everybody's famished, you know.
Actually, he says they rush straight to the comfort food.
They say, Wolfgang, where is their mac and cheese?
Where is their chicken pot pie?
And people really love it.
And I started the first time we made it, Baba Streisand ate three of them.
Yup, three.
There are 84 items on this menu.
It is a feast.
My son, Byron, he's making a pasta here, the agnolotti with artichoke and truffles.
Sweet.
Did I hear pasta?
I'm getting my very own governor's ball right now.
Okay.
I am spoiled.
That's how we say it's good in Philly.
And they hope the stars save room for dessert.
The apple strudel, I'd say, is an absolute must over there on the dessert section.
Gary is the head pastry chef.
Since you were here last year, I think you remember how to do it.
Wait, really?
Yes.
Each and every dark chocolate statuette hand-gilded for Hollywood's A-listers.
To Oscar.
Gonna be a good one.
Oh, and it's so good.
It's 70% chocolate, and it kind of has a lemon essence.
I'll try and put one in my pocketbook for you, Brian, and bring it home to Philadelphia.
I asked Wolfgang what his favorite part of the night is, and he says when it's over, he can relax,
pour himself a glass of red wine, and smoke his cigar.
He just fed 1,600 celebrities.
Can you blame him?
I mean, you got a made-to-order meal from Wolfgang Puck.
I think I'm having Wawa for dinner tonight, so you win.
Great stuff.
All right, have a shorty for me.
You got it.
Have fun, Alicia.
We can't wait for your reports.
Thank you.
