Tons of tricks were a treat this Halloween season, as local magicians performed free shows and commemorated the 100th anniversary of Harry Houdini’s death.
This is their story: https://6abc.com/20001159/?utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube

I've been performing magic for well over 50 years.
Watch close. One, two, three.
I actually got interested. I saw a movie about Harry Houdini.
Just blow on it right there. Good, because now we have five.
Hi, my name is Michael Bonacci, and I'm with the Society of American
Magicians Assembly No. 4 of Philadelphia.
Abracadabra!
Thank you very much.
Every National Magic Week, we donate our time and talents
to go out and perform at different locations.
Right now, we're at the Delaware Valley Veterans Home in Philadelphia.
We visit homes for seniors, St. Christopher's Hospital for children.
It's the joy of giving to other people,
making them laugh and have a good time.
Maybe this will work.
Society of American Magicians has just under 4,000 members.
National Magic Week, it's always the last week in October.
What do you say after that?
I like that.
Houdini was the president of the Society
of American Magicians 100 years ago,
and he died on Halloween 1926.
10-31.
Magic Week started about 10 years after Houdini died.
It was really just one day, and then
it eventually evolved into one week.
I'm going to drop the egg in the bag. Do you see the egg in the bag?
So assemblies across the nation are doing shows free just
to share magic with those and make their life a little better.
It could not go up my sleeve, and yet it is gone, gone, gone.
We have a show that we are doing for the residents here,
all veterans or veteran families,
and we actually have a member of our assembly who is now living here,
a veteran, a magician, Tony Antonelli.
I'd like to present this presidential citation to you.
I didn't think anything like this would happen to me.
I was in the Marines, and I was in the Navy.
I put 20 years in.
Thank you so much.

In a couple weeks, I'll get a little better.
I'm going to come here and do a magic show for everybody.
