Hello friends! I have finished my second moving truck adventure and now I have pretty much the
rest of the stuff that I need at my apartment. I'm almost done being done with the old space,
just have to clean it up and grab a couple more things from there. But the majority of it is done
and now is the fun part where I get to start plant styling and decorating my home. I've done
a couple things so far just to get stuff out of the way. Nothing's set in stone. I did copy and
paste a couple of things. Let me show you that. For example, I have this shelf which is a little
bit different. I guess I did a couple different things there but the same basic idea is the same
from the last place. And then like this table right here is exactly the same.
Total mess, total total mess. And then like this area is pretty much copy and pasted.
So yeah, the mirror with like the dracaena. Hello! Dracaena and the aglaonema.
All pretty much the same that it was in the old place. Sorry about this pillow.
So now it's time to figure out what the hell I'm going to do with the rest of these plants.
I have the windowsills as you can see. They're not really done. The windows are so dirty.
I really want to clean these. I don't think the building's going to clean them themselves.
They're like storm windows so I can take them out. I think. I don't know. I don't know how this works.
Anyway, we have these. I have a space right there as you can see. I kind of want to do like
thinking about like one of them with more of the larger ones. I don't really love
like this bundle right here but I'm like maybe if one whole windowsill like this is kind of fine.
It's more like a bunch of smaller ones and then one of them was a bunch of bigger ones.
That might be a really good idea. I want to put the trellis here. I just don't know first of all
which trellis. I have the white trellis and the foldable one. Here's the foldable one still split
up. The white trellis is all the way back there but I've had this getting an idea ready to go.
I don't know if I want it to be centered here and then I was thinking about getting like
I should not be buying more stuff or more plants but getting like a plant that's very
verticular like something like or something that will grow up to be verticular like a
fiddly fig that's like in the standard columnar or like a columnar shiflera or even just like
you can get the idea like with this ficus right here and this dracaena just how they're poking
up but I want something a little bit larger so I was thinking about leaving that spot. I also
could push that over and have the trellis coming up right there but because of this thing right
here I kind of think it might be more visually appealing to have it centered but I couldn't
just leave this blank. I would have to have a plant also going up probably going up the moss
pole. I could get one of the moss pole guys or I don't even know. I don't even know and if we turn
around we have Muffin. I think we caught her licking herself. Hey sweetie. I don't even
really know what I'm doing over here. I have just the desk sitting here but this is just a lot of
blank space. I think I'm gonna do over here centered between this thingy and then
the the wall over there is this shelf that's on the ground. Also don't mind the like rags and pots.
I'm having some major leaks from these ceilings. I realize this is just like super fancy drop ceiling
in a way. It's cool but um function? I don't know. These plants were all left at the old apartment and
they suffered. Some did. Some look fine. Here's like the aglaonema. I'm sorry the philodendron
red emerald that I have up on the trellis so I need to come up with an idea quick so I can
get this out of the box. There's a bunch of plants sitting in this box still because they all go up
on the trellis and they're all just kind of sitting in there. I have a rough idea. I didn't realize
how much liquor I have. I like making cocktails a lot so I keep a bunch of different like random
liqueurs and stuff that I've used like half an ounce of. So I needed to do something about that.
This bar cart's not going to cut it. I used to keep stuff in the pantry but there's no pantry
in this kitchen. That thing with all the plants on it is where the HVAC lives. So no pantry. So I
decided I got- it's coming today so I'm gonna set it up. I got like a bar cabinet. I'm gonna put here
and I'm gonna put the painting up here. I think I'm gonna recreate what I had in my room
with the painting. The Cebu blue pothos hanging down and then I have this shelf
that I got from Urban Outfitters and I'll put it up to the right. So
Cebu blue, painting, this shelf and then the bar stuff will be right there. I have a round rug
coming. I ordered literally just the same rug. I was trying so hard to pick out a rug and then
I couldn't pick one out so then I just ordered the same one in round because it wasn't that
expensive and I figured if I ever find one I like better I can just order a new one. But yeah,
it's a total mess around here and then if we work our way past all this. I'm so excited to not have
a total mess everywhere. I'm so excited. Day by day. I have this windowsill which is not set up
at all. This has a bunch of plants sitting on it so we're gonna have to take care of that as well.
I did do this. I wouldn't really consider it plant styling because I literally just placed
them in by twos with really no rhyme no reason. I just ordered, I think it's right here,
a power strip because the power strip that I have isn't working out so I can't light all of them up.
So yeah, I'm gonna replace that momentarily. Just put some plants on top. They're not there to look
sexy. They're there to revive themselves because once again they were sitting in my old apartment
for two weeks without receiving any care. So it's a Monstera. That one will come back perfectly fine.
I'm just waiting for that yellow leaf to go and then the plant will look 10 times better.
Alocasia on the other hand, we will see. But yeah, I think the first task that I kind of would like
to accomplish. Sorry I've been yammering so much. It's probably gonna be a long video.
The first task that I would like to accomplish is figuring out what the hell I'm going to do
with this windowsill because it's huge. It's literally the size of all of my windowsills
in my old apartment combined plus more. So I can do something cool with this windowsill
in terms of like a display. I just don't really know what. It is a new day. I ended up not doing
any of the plant styling yesterday because I had too much other stuff going on. The only thing I
did do was get this finally set up which I think I need to replace this one right here. It's not
working like it used to. But yeah, I kind of like it much more neat. It's a little intentional. I
think you guys know I like my things to look a little bit more unintentional. But these shelves
look like display shelves and not like mess shelves. And you probably know I wasn't that
obsessed with them in the last place. So I feel like I'm giving them new life by making them look
more set up. Still have the plants up top but now what I think I'm going to do is pull all of these
off the windowsill because this is not working. This is just how I placed them when I moved in
here. And we're going to start to try to figure out a rough plan of how to make this windowsill
look nice. The windowsill is all cleared off. I have the plants on the floor here waiting to find
their spots. And I have this dracaena in the corner here. I just kind of put it here when I moved in
but I like it here. It looks really good. And so I'm thinking I might want to play with how there's
like a tall plant here in this corner up against here. And none of these are really tall but I do
have that raphidophora tetrasperma on a four-foot moss pole and I still haven't found a spot for it
out in the living room. So I think I might start off by putting it right in this corner over here
and maybe starting our template from there. Our raft is in place. I kind of like it like that. I
think it really works with tall plant here, tall plant there. None of these are really that tall.
Some of them have like two feet on them but this was four feet so it makes a big difference. This
windowsill's huge. I don't think it looks as big on camera as it does in person but this is like
a floor plant size planter right here. It's still not taking up that much space. I have room for
another row here so I think I might try to do like larger plants in the back as one row and then maybe
do some smaller planters in the front. I think this is where my inspiration from just seeing
this in place is taking me. I have this pink princess here that also takes up a decent amount
of space so I think I'll try putting it over in this corner. I know you can't see this corner as
well with the way that the camera's set up but it looks pretty nice. It's not taking up too much
space. It's still a little room to put something else in front and I think from here I have to
figure out like how I want them to be spaced. Like maybe I'll start by putting one in the direct
center here and seeing if I can space them evenly throughout or if I need to move them accordingly.
So maybe I'll grab, let's grab this ficus on the floor here. Since it's very upright I think this
might be a good one to have just sitting directly in front of the wood here which I'm also considering
hanging something on the wood. There's like an inch gap between the blinds up top so I feel like
I could do like a bracket that fits in between so I can still lower the blinds but have a plant
hanging in between. Just an idea but let's just continue to place some more plants. I have this
variegated monstera. I have that other variegated monstera as well. I need to clean off this one
yellow leaf. It's been like this for a while but I've just been kind of leaving it because
this plant's been through some stress being moved back and forth of course and I haven't wanted to
stress it out even more so I've been letting it put all of its bad energy into this yellow leaf
back here. Let's just put that there for now. I think we're starting to get an idea. This philodendron
one's a mouthful. I don't think I really like the way this like two gangly plants right next to each
other is looking though so maybe I do want to move this one over here but then there's two
very upright. Do you see what I mean? They all are giving such like very similar vibes
so maybe maybe I do actually want to move the pink princess and not have it in the corner
and use it to like oh gosh this moss pole needs to be pushed down a little bit more. It's not
going to fall but it's just leaning more than I would like it to. Anyway I think we need to split
this up a little bit more so either the monstera variegata or the philodendron atavopoensi can get
placed in the corner and it's not a bad idea to have that philodendron there because it is on
that moss pole not that it's a huge moss pole in comparison to the raphidophora but still I know
you can't see it like at all but just gives it more of that similar look. If I had another tall
moss pole plant that would fit there that might look good but that also might be way too intentional
and I already have these shelves right here that are very intentional so I want to try to keep
things looking a little bit more like mother nature just placed them there herself. I could
even experiment with moving this monstera to the center I know I said this ficus looks good there
but it is very upright so maybe that's what you would expect to be there and this monstera might
actually pop a little bit more although I kind of like the pot perfectly centered and keeping in
mind this is going to be going away soon I don't mind that and then we can move this monstera well
I guess I didn't love it next to the philodendron atop a poinsettia in the first place but
get this ficus a little bit more centered in the window maybe we will have like a little double
variegated monstera moment here just to play with each other could even try to coerce them to be
yeah kind of just like next to each other like they're working in cahoots with each other
it's worth a try and I don't really have much large planters but I have with this
Evian bottle inside it this Raphidophora decursiva on a moss pole which could live maybe
right here playing with the like tall two smaller planters we push this one back
really want everything to be in an even line I feel like I'm trying very hard to find the fine
line between how they're placed in increments that are even but it's still look not too
intentional which ask me how doable that is because I don't really know little monstera subpinata
on a little thing here so what do we have going on we have one on the end one the end one the
middle and then we're trying to do I guess like four plants in between I don't really know I have
oops knocked one over I have this philodendron thematophyllum spruceanum that could fit in this
area pretty well just move some things over that's not bad which that leaves me with room for
a couple more there's two more I kind of want to move this one over and then put two
more in that area someone is outside just grab this philodendron incansinum has a leaf that
needs to come off but it's okay throw it in there and let me just go see if there's anything else
that would make a little bit more sense out in the living room to put here I have that other weird
variegated monstera and it's looking like really funky I know the light's terrible but I put up
this really funky leaf lately so I kind of want this to join its friends over here it's just a
matter of where we can fit it properly should I put it with the other monsteras and move this guy
over maybe we'll experiment with that the planter on this one is pretty big in comparison to the
center I don't know if that's gonna throw me off not really obsessed with that I still kind of
want it to be in this area though but it's looking a little messy in a good way and in a bad way
but it's doable it's definitely doable I think I can't judge this until I have everything completely
in its spot well we could always change things around at some point nothing is set in stone
it's the joy of making these little arrangements and now we can start to
do like a little front row going on so I have a bunch of smaller plants
like this anthurium veitchii right here once again the lighting is just not very good but
we're just working with what we got today and we can start to just place it in in between like
I don't want them to be just like in line but I don't know if they're going to be perfectly
even so let's let's let's let's start doing some stuff a little imidrium might place over
in this corner I'll have to do some really small ones by the pink princess because there's just
not a lot of room so I have this little begonia here autumn ember fit in that space nicely I
also have the spots on the end here maybe that might work a little bit better for the super
small ones so place that in there and then maybe we'll grab I got this alocasia I've never been a
big fan of these but they had these for ten dollars at this local farmer's market that I've
been walking by multiple times a week because I've just been going back and forth from the old
apartment so I saw these they were only 10 bucks and I figured I'd give it a go and I think it
looks good in this window I might even look better on the shelf here but for now let's just go ahead
and place it on the windowsill a little too tall to fit under the pink princess I do have this
plant that I uh spilled here I didn't even notice it was here because it's a little leafless at the
moment it's an anthurium it needs to recover so maybe I could just kind of hide it underneath
the pink princess and then we don't have to worry about it this guy is on a moss pole I guess this
could have gone in the back row this monstera stanleyana but we could also just maybe put it
in the center and kind of just pretend that didn't happen also this philodendron summer glory also
is pretty large so maybe we'll keep the three larger ones in the center there and then continue
working our way out I have this syngonium maybe I'll put this right here and this begonia
this pretty green planter I've been holding on to this begonia for dear life I know you can
barely see it it's my begonia special angel or my special angel I've had it for a couple years yes
it only has three leaves it's died back and come back so many times I was gonna throw it out last
time it died back but I thought I might just hold on to it again but it's just such a nice planter
with such a wimpy little plant in it and I want to hold on to it because it's got sentimental value
but I think you understand we also have oh my gosh this begonia is gonna flower this begonia um
coriacea raja which the leaves are coming off red from the lighting but they're like this like olive
greenish black and the red on the back side but cool begonia maybe we'll fit this in as well
maneuver these a little bit because it's looking not so as
spaced as I wanted I have this other tiny begonia as well the gamella which I could place in the
back corner in this little tiny spot and that just leaves that little spot right there to have this
toll engine bloody mary I can place in here or once again I could also just swap it with something
else but this is just a start it's just a start let's pick up the camera and see a little bit
better is it perfect no could I do something here as like an extension like a bench or something
yeah I could but I think I want the room there I think I have other plans for non-plant related
stuff that I might want in this area but it's looking a lot better than it did before I think
we could all agree on that I still have two plants that were in the display that are not fitting
there right now I have this stromanthe and this palm so maybe we can find somewhere else for it
I'm also I'm thinking about doing the the thing I was talking about by hanging a thing up there
maybe I should have done that before I put all these plants on because I might need to stand
on there because that might be taller than my step ladder anyway I think that might be
a project for the next plant styling vlog I think this one's gonna go on enough where I
think I'm gonna have to do two separate ones but I think this is where we're gonna close off the
bedroom a couple plants back here couple plants in that corner a couple plants up top I'm thinking
about doing something centered like a more like dynamic piece also I don't know if these are
actually going to stay I just have them there because that's where I put them once again when
I was just trying to get things out of the way so let's go to the living room and I want to work on
the other windowsills in this video at the least we have a muffin hi sweetie she was taking a nap
she's awake I'm gonna help us decorate no she doesn't so yesterday I know I was discussing
how I kind of want one of these windowsills to be more just big planters and one of them to be more
small this one looks like we're already getting somewhere with the small one so I think I might
just want to pull a couple of them out like that Hoya karii that's coming up in the center and
swap it for like where these are so I don't think this is a very difficult task I'm kind of liking
the like this wasn't me doing plant styling I was literally just placing them in the windowsills
trying to get them off the floor because there's a bunch still on the floor here that I'm still
just trying to figure out what I am doing with them I still have to figure out if I'm gonna hang
something I've been thinking about doing like a hanging rod across here I really have no idea
what I'm doing I've been having issues drilling in the wall oh I should show you I yesterday I
got this new stuff I got this bar thingy so now all the liquor bottles aren't on the floor that's
what I was doing last night and I set up the painting I went to go hang up the shelf that I
have right here and I couldn't get the things in it's like drywall but I was like putting these
anchors in and it's not the stud I can tell you that I know what I'm doing I've been doing this
many many many times this is the first time where I don't know if there's like if the drywall is
like short or like what's behind the drywall there's like concrete or brick or I don't know
but I was really struggling so I had to cover up the hole somehow so I just hung this staghorn
fern here which honestly looks fine but it's not the envision that I had or the vision sorry it's
it's not the vision that I had but I'm gonna try to figure out what I can do here I'm probably
gonna go to the hardware store and ask for some help on figuring out how I could possibly hang
things but that's putting a wrench in things because now I'm realizing that this wall
is even more solid when I knock on it it's all just like I don't know it doesn't seem like it's
plaster but this doesn't seem like drywall but at the same time you can see like up there people
have hung stuff in here in the past so I just have to figure it out you can see clearly by how
not well people have covered up their holes yeah so anyway the task that we have at hand is the
windowsill sorry there's like some major sounds going on outside right now but
let's just deal with it I'm just gonna start off by pulling the Hoya carry eye
like every time I've sat on this bench I'm just like leaning back into this Hoya
so I think it'll be better in the windowsill without the bench and then I could just pull
everything off and start from scratch but like I kind of like the little template that I've set up
so far oops I broke that plant tag good thing I know what it is let's just get these little guys
we'll just sit right on the bench might need to do a little bit of maneuvering specifically with
the smaller plants in the window because maybe I put these over here for a reason at the time
I don't remember but maybe I put them over there because they couldn't fit here or something I
don't know but I don't really like the thought process that I had of putting these small plants
mixed in with the big ones because it's just not the aesthetic that I think I'm going for
there's also this Zerocicchios dengue the silver dollar plant that's also a little large that I
could perhaps move but I don't really mind it the pots aren't as big as the Hoya and the Hoya is just
like it's not bulky but it's more bulky if you get what I'm saying so yeah I placed this Hoya
in the blank spot yesterday this Hoya carry eye I think I'd prefer to hang it but I just
I don't know it's a little bit larger than the pots that I wanted to hang and I feel like it
might look like or like stick out like a sore thumb so I don't know about that but let's just
grab the Hoya I feel weird that I'm just moving just moving like one plant over but I'm trying
to replace it with like five I don't think that works like I don't even really understand how
these physics worked out before let's pull the Hoya off for a second and maybe just like try to
condense a couple of the plants that are on the window so just like push them over towards one
another until they're basically touching but not quite actually I feel like my thought process
might have been after seeing this cactus sitting here that I'm moving over to as you can see with
my cat going up into the window right now that maybe I didn't want the spiky guys over in the
area where she likes to hop up and go into the window but I think she's smart enough where I
can put them on the edge I can rearrange I don't know my cat's important to me she's more important
to me than my aesthetic choices that I make in my home but she's also a smart cat maneuver this
Peperomia incana in a way that it's not going to tip off the edge because it's a little top heavy
I feel like we actually just made way more room than I intended on but let's get this Hoya caryite
over here and just place it right next to this handsome area and is there still room for that
other Hoya it looks like it did I move anything else because there's a lot of room on here
so maybe we will get the xericikyos over in this area wow I'm like confused
I didn't think I moved them that much but I think it just goes to show
how much space can be consolidated so that looks pretty good Hoya the sansevieria is kind of
freaking me out oh Moroccan's got little limbs pressed up against other things but yeah that
looks pretty good I really like that I'm just turn the xericikyos in a different manner where I think it
shines a little bit better with its aesthetics but yeah that's sexy okay so over to this window
with all of the small plants and just start to maneuver them I can get this cactus in the back
behind I know my back's probably blocking but behind this little stapelia guy so that doesn't
take up too much room this planter's empty because it's got the plant in the sink right now
I'll place this euphorbia behind it so hopefully we can try to
kind of block off those plants in that area or maybe I'll even move the euphorbia
behind here swap it with this uh Hoya Ann I think it was yeah really beautiful Hoya it's
grown a really nice new leaf for me since I got it so let's put this guy back here
yeah I'm happy with that so we have a couple more Hoyas there's a lot of Hoyas in this window I've
been finding since my last home how well Hoyas do when they are in
real natural light in comparison to the artificial light that I've given
many Hoyas in the past the only issue that I'm really coming across like with that last toy I
just placed down and then this one that I have right here is that they trail a little bit that's
probably why I also had them on that windowsill to begin with like should I do that as the smaller
plant windowsill on this one but I think I prefer doing this one because Muffin sits up here and
she likes to look out the window and she's fine with the bend sometimes she'll like put her paws
in between the plants on the windowsill get a little bit of a better look but
yeah I don't want to take up her space where she can look out so I think I'm going to leave it
also that Hoya Australis that's on the uh can't really see it because of the light but the the
tallest one it's blooming and it smells so good I can literally smell it from 30 feet away in my
kitchen I can smell the beautiful floral smell if it just like waffles across at the the right angle
I guess it's fabulous I've had that Hoya for a couple years and it's been growing incredibly
well for me but it just bloomed for the first time this past week or so so I might end up putting
this Hoya somewhere else I don't know I kind of want it to be somewhere where it can trail nicely
and get to experience what it wants to experience which honestly could even just be over on where
you can barely see here but on this little table that I have right here maybe I'll just place it
in right there still getting some really good east-facing sunlight because the sunlight shines
against that side of the room as the sun starts to come in and go towards the south side of the sky
this is the north side over here so yeah I still have to figure out what I'm doing with this I'm
trying to figure out the whole trellis thing I think I'm having a friend come over later who's
gonna help me put up the trellis because that accordion trellis is impossible well not impossible
I've done it before it's not easy to put up by yourself so I think this is where we're gonna
call the plant styling today just the windowsills I think from here we're gonna have to start to
fill in the gaps as you can maybe see I have some more plants on the floor here just like 10 plants
on the floor most of these are ones that I wanted to hang up but we're gonna have to see I feel like
I don't know this seems like more hollow drywall I feel like I could maybe be able to put the anchors
in here this is going to be a project for another video I'm just terrified of drilling in these walls
in particular because they're not white they were painted by the the building it's not like the
walls that I painted here so um if I spackle it spackles white you know what I'm saying so
I feel like I kind of have one shot at that and I can really ruin it I'm sure I could
get there's paint cans downstairs I'm sure I could just steal their paint and use their
paint not steal it but you know what I'm saying don't report me but yeah there's a lot to do this
is just the beginning but I'm just feeling even from just getting this done in the bedroom done
I'm feeling way more organized especially just even compared to the past couple days where I've
just been getting all the rest of my stuff over here so yeah that's gonna do it for today um
follow me on my other socials if you don't already tiktok and instagram at philly foliage and
patreon for some behind the scenes content but yeah I think I got some other things to do today
unfortunately I do have to go back to the old apartment to just finish cleaning up
we're almost done but slowly but surely so yeah have a great rest of your day
