Hello everyone, Stéphane here, welcome on the channel. As I can see I look scruffy, my beard is
still there, I'm not sure if it is because I am actually in France on holiday visiting family,
that's right. So I'm not going to be able to do these very long videos but I still want to post
some typical French little things because I'm there, I'm in France. So look at this, breakfast
time and I wanted to talk about the four classic pieces of sweets you can find in this French
bakery, what we call Viennoiserie. If you ever go in France, these are the four main ones you're
going to find everywhere, there's the four things you want to try. So first off, no need to present
this one, the croissant, French croissant, very basic, you can dip it in your coffee,
lovely with jam and butter, an all-time classic. The second one is the pain au chocolat or
chocolate croissant, it's called in some other countries like Australia, very famous, very good,
that bar of chocolate inside a kind of croissant pastry, it's very good to eat at breakfast. The
third one is called the pain au raisin, the resin bread, it's called also escargot or snail in
Australia because of its shape, look it looks like actually like a little snail type of thing.
So this is more like a brioche type of pastry and as you can see there is resin and this
yellow thing here, this is a pastry cream, there's actually layers of pastry cream and you just
bite into it or you kind of unroll it like that, you know, detach it and look at this
loveliness inside, look at that cream, beautiful. The fourth one is this one, that's one of my
favorites, it's less known, this is the chausson aux pommes, it's actually a puff pastry that is
filled with an apple kind of compote inside, so it's very fluffy, it's very thick but if you break
it inside, oh I'm gonna take a little piece I think, yeah it's got that lovely kind of filling
and it's absolutely very good. But guys, this is just a very brief introduction to the French
breakfast, so if you ever go to France, try these four things, croissant, pain au chocolat,
pain au raisin and chausson aux pommes. I'll see you soon for some real French products.
