Alright let's get started Let's go
First of all
First impressions matter Starting your message with first of all sets a professional tone
Why do we use it It shows the examiner that I've organized my thoughts and am now beginning in a structured way
Pay special attention here to verb placement First the entire phrase
occupies position 1 and then the verb immediately follows in position 2
First of all I'd like to talk about the advantages
So please don't say "first of all I would like " put the verb first
Another example would be first of all we should clarify what this is actually about
Repeat the example aloud after me now
First and foremost we should clarify what this is actually about
An important point is
When you're in the middle of making your argument you want to set priorities
And for that this sentence is perfect An important point is
Why do we use it It shows you can distinguish what's essential from what's not
Grammar Here you have two options
Either you use a noun as in this sentence:
An important point is flexibility in the job
Or you can use a subordinate clause with that
An important point is that it saves a lot of time
Don't forget in subordinate clauses the
conjugated verb goes all the way to the end of
the sentence just like in all other subordinate clauses Repeat after me
One key advantage is that it saves a significant amount of time
One argument is usually not enough
You need to expand your thinking
And for that you use this tool
It's essentially like a plus sign
You're connecting two ideas together
Not just with "and" or "or" all the
time And here too we have that again—
the one that signals something to you
Attention subordinate clause For example the rent is affordable
Moreover the apartment
is located very centrally
The verb is therefore back at the very end again
Or another example
A key issue is the question of costs
Adding to that we have limited staff
Repeat after me
A key issue is the cost
Plus we have very little staff
And finally it can be said
Finally it can be said
You are reaching the end of your response
Then make that clear
In conclusion it can be said
that this expression helps
the examiner understand Ah now comes the conclusion
That looks very confident
And incidentally we're using a beautiful construction here
Specifically the plus infinitive
That sounds far more elegant than simply saying one can
And because we have a subordinate clause again the verb goes to the end once more
So in conclusion it can be said that this topic is very complex
In conclusion we still need to clarify a few points
Repeat after me
In conclusion there are still a few points we need to clarify
In summary it can be said
Just like with the previous expression you can once again consolidate your points using this
Thus you draw a conclusion from everything you've said earlier
Once again we have a subordinate clause introduced by that
For instance to summarize one can say that sports remain an important part of life
Or to sum up one could say the journey was worthwhile
Please speak
In conclusion it's fair to say the trip was well worth it
So those were our five useful phrases to help you structure your responses clearly
That's exactly what you need during the doubt clarification phase and in longer conversations
Remember the PDF—link below the video
My tip for you: pick two of these sentences and use them in a conversation today or write them in your study journal
