Kuai Man vs Wang Yidi | WS SF | #WTTChongqing 2026

Wang Yidi, of course, got her quarterfinal out of the pool. If you like, it's a few times the way she punches that one. And again, this time, a little bit more of a... It's been a good comeback, this, by Guaiman, who's now moved within one. Again, I wonder about the timing of that timeout. I know... Oh, she can't, because Guaiman has produced a stunning... And she expertly takes it at the first time of asking. That is another trademark of hers, just dragging that forehand. It's so powerful. And for Wang Yidi, therefore, we kind of consider it a poor timeout. Had she won the game, we would have said it's going until it goes past you. She misses that. And she'd look... And it's been disguised really well. Expertly done by Wang Yidi there. With width, and to the crossover. Well, she clung on there. Works so often. But the problem is the way she's playing at the moment. Oh, ho, ho. This time, it doesn't work. And you might say that not enough is working for Wang Yidi, because Guaiman has absolutely cruised to a two-game lead here now. She's controlling proceedings really well. Oh. Stop it. Closer. Flick of the net now, and a look of faint disgust from Wang Yidi. Guaiman is just slinging at the moment. She's a fighter, though, Wang Yidi. And that's as good a defensive shot. And just when Yidi's fans were beginning to... Nice forehand, though. Shoulders back and just drills a forehand. It is just pick your poison with her at the moment. Oh, no guessing that time. Or at least she did. Oh. You learn that, eh? How well did she play that? Guaiman. Guaiman is just so much better when... As she'll have faced. Two-one. Satsuki Odo out into the fire as well. But what's just really impressive with Guaiman here is... Six-five. Still no flicker of emotion. But not one. Oh. Five-seven. It's just the rain. Trying to ruffle up Guaiman, but it's not working. Just yet. It just misses. Seven-eight. There you go. And the fans in the Infinity Arena say thank you for that. We loved it. Putting on a show at a very important time of this match. The first time in four games that Wang Yidi has been able to force one. Games of forehand. But misses with the backhand. And now there is a chance. Now she has a chance. Because she's on the scoreboard. It's three-one. And there's a long, long way to go. But she's been here before. She's a fighter. Good fortune. Different things to worry about. It's just so difficult to compete with him. Look at Guaiman again. Oh, man. Mandy's at it again. Oh, there it is. But this is what she's having to do. To an encounter with either. Either Miu or Harimoto. Guaiman to Guaiman, that one. That is absolute perfection. Toying with a player who's been as high as two in the world. Moving her around at will. She is looking so sharp. Match points. She doesn't get that. Even Guaiman on this ball. And she does. Down the line, off the edge. Bit of fortune again. But she has needed not just fortune. She's not really needed any luck. Because she's made her own luck. She has played magnificently. Dropping just the one game in the fourth. And remember, she trailed heavily in game one.
