$500 Cornhole Championship Matchups!

All right, we're live. Fountain City splash pot night. Splash pot, yeah. 500 extra dollars in the pot for the winners. That's right. Third place. These are all guaranteed in the money already, but you want the big money, right? You want that big dollar. Yeah. But this, even though this is for see who's third and who's going to the ship, third place is still winning a substantial amount of money. Oh yeah. A good paycheck, but that difference between first and third is, you don't want the third. So tonight it's me and Cruella and Ryan because we all lost. Yeah, we all suck. Today was not our day. That's for sure. Too many really good shooters. Man, when you get a splash pot, you got all the good shooters show up and it's just tough to win. It's tough to win. You got to be on your A game the whole night. The whole night. I came out, I had the top PPR coming out of rounders, which is rare for me. Yeah. And, uh, it didn't, uh, it didn't work out for me too well. Yeah. I mean, I shot good in rounders too. And then I know I drew a partner who we just didn't agree on bag types. And when you get that, it's, it's tough. So you got a five on three to open it up. It's solid for a third place game. It does. We have Blake and Jaden on our side, the near side. And we have River and Cole on the far side. We've had River and Cole on the Blake and Jaden. I think Jaden has been on Blake. This is Blake's first broadcast. Blake's first broadcast. Let's see what he does on the broadcast board. We started talking about his mustache and things like that. So Blake and Jaden take the quick lead here. There is like zero room for error at this level. You can't really mess up tonight at this level. And then we got, we got, uh, Bud and Octavius. Oh my God. In the King seat. Bud is on a tear. Bud always finds a way to get to the podium matchups. Yeah. And you know, his motivation is to get his picture taken. He just wants his picture taken. That's it. That's all he wants. He doesn't care. I wish that was my motivator. They have been throwing really good. Bud's been on a tear tonight. It's going to be fun watching his match. Yeah. Whoever he plays, that's going to be a good game. This is actually going to be a really good match right here. We're two on two. It's kind of a taste of what you're going to get. Lots of bags in the holes. Jaden can keep his composure. He can, he can give some, some trouble. It's tough throwing down there against River though. River just picked up four points on him. And correct me if I'm wrong, but River trains a lot of people. I believe he's trained Jaden. So with baseball, they've, you know, they haven't got as much practice as they'd like. Yeah. Jaden is a high school baseball player. So, you know, in the, in the baseball season, you don't get a lot of cornhole practice. Same for me. I umpire, so I don't get a lot of time on the, on the board. Yeah. We are, for me, this is, it's a different world because, uh, coming from Texas, we don't have, we don't have to worry about baseball and football season or any of that kind of stuff. You know, it's an older crowd where I'm coming from. So I don't, you know, the kids come out, but they're not into baseball and stuff like that. So I have to, yeah, here it's, it's a little bit different. Yeah. We had a wash on tens. We had a wash on tens on the near side with Jaden and Blake. Yeah. She's got, I've been watching her. She's been doing really well. Are you leaving? Oh, I'll be back. All right. We had to deal with some logistical issues there in the background. We had a lowers tonight and lowers just finished up their tournament. So Leslie Curella went to go pay out the winners and take pictures so they can share that. And her mic is still on. So you might hear some, uh, some odd things. It was a great turnout. We had 31, no, 34, 34, four shooters tonight. Uh, Jaden tries to roll it and it just hangs up on the backside there. It's our, uh, it's our top that we've had so far. I'd like to hit that 40 mark. Yeah, man. When you peel that money out, everybody comes out of the woodwork. And this was the first time we'd done it. So like, we're just going to get out, but this is going to happen more often. We are going to see some players come out here and it's going to be, it's going to be fun. But this is what you look for. Like this is regional type play. Oh yeah. And so you're, you're getting that practice with the top throwers and that's what you want. Well, and that's one of the reasons that we decided to do this is to get big shooters out here. It makes everybody better. Yeah, absolutely. Cole finishes in the hole. Blake's going to try to go in. There it is. And he does. We haven't seen Blake on the, on the broadcast, but still background. He and his partner Chewy, uh, they've been, you know, trying to catch up on, on some seasons and getting better. Chewy doesn't get to practice as much as he likes because baseball again. And then Blake he is on the boards every day. But they're out there. They're out there grabbing ACO points, man. Every weekend at these regionals. They're good. Yes. It's good to watch them play. It's fun to play against them. Yeah. They're super, uh, nonchalant about it. Lots of bags in the hole here. Are you guys are just, uh, they're just good. Yeah, it's good. River. Uh, he had one hanging there and Jayden pushed it out, which was a very smart move because River probably would have grabbed it. It's called, uh, when you have a corner hanging in there, it's called a toe in the water. And, uh, if you had a string from the bag in the water against River, he's going to get it. Yeah. So that was a good move there by Jayden to push that out and go in. He grabbed two points. We're sitting on sixes right now. Blake and Cole both throwing a 10, six, seven right now. All right. You'd be surprised what it does for you just to take that little breather, a little break. It can turn a whole game around. It really can. Absolutely. Yeah. You gotta get it out of your head. It's all about taking those, uh, those tactical pauses for my military folks that know anything about that. You got a dirty board here. Let's see what Jayden does with it. He has a decent cut shot and then his airmail is just gross when he's on and his airmail, uh, it looks like, uh, this is going to be a, this is tough right here. He goes through this. He'll just pray his back bag will probably fall. He'll probably take all those. The river has another bag. He'll probably run it in and that would give Jayden a two point loss. So, or you sit up behind rivers and do something. That would be my call is to lay a block. I would say not even like a right up on it. Kind of leave like a gap and hope that he overshoots the airmail and maybe knock yours in Yeah. On the backside. On the backside. Yeah. If you drag that one in, that'd be nice. You don't want to leave too big of a gap, but I don't think you want it to be right up on it. Bud threw a 9-1-4 against me. Oh, wow. Yeah, man. When he gets lit up, he gets lit up. He's a slick side bandit now. Yeah. He's throwing a faster bag. I think Octavia's had one off the back there. And we got 3-0. Blake and Jaden. They just need to keep doing something they did against Cole and River. Change nothing. Yep. Just keep doing it. And Blake and Jaden have been running through the loser's bracket, so they've been running and running and running. So, they're kind of warmed up and hot, you know. Here we go. Collect this for four. Every once in a while, he will step back and take a breath, or he'll load the gun and cock back, and then he'll stop. Then he'll reset and throw the bag. Sometimes he does like that. We're already 18 to 2 really quickly here. Yeah. I didn't see it going this quick in the first game. No, I didn't either. It's kind of getting away from Bud and Octavius here. I would use these last couple of rounds to just practice and get reset, refocus. Build your confidence or something. You got to figure out how to get your head back in the game. Not that you can't come back from 18 to 2. It's very unlikely, but I would just say, okay, I'm probably going to lose this game. Also, I think when your partner starts to struggle, it gets in your head because you're like, man, now I got to take risk because my partner is not performing.
