So today we're talking no-fail spring outfit formulas. These are going to be like your go-to
tried and true. If you wake up and you're just like, I don't know what to wear today. I feel
like a potato. It's all right. I've got you covered. Pull one of these out of your back pocket. Trust
me, you'll look good. You'll look pulled together. You'll have an outfit that looks intentional,
which is kind of what we're all after at the end of the day. That tends to be what makes you look
like you tried versus didn't, no matter what you're wearing. With this first outfit formula,
we are going to start with something that is so simple, but I really want you to see
how versatile it is. Button down jeans or trousers of some kind and a statement shoe.
Now, so many of my basics come from quints because, well, they're incredible. I love them.
I've been singing their praises for a couple of years now because they truly have the best
quality basics at such affordable pricing. And they do that by like cutting out the middleman.
So you are getting pieces that are made in the same factories as some high end pieces,
but you are not paying those high end prices. So I will link to everything down below in the
description box that I'm showing you in this video. But this is one of the most simple,
but I think just classic and timeless outfits. So these are the barrel jeans, the new Bella Stretch
barrel jeans from quints and the little cap toe shoes, which are very on trend. They're back,
baby. They are back. They are Italian leather and they look very similar to the designer version,
but for a fraction of the price and they do come in another color way as well.
But again, if you didn't see my last video about styling tips where I shared like different tucks
that I like to use for button downs, then you should definitely check that out. But I kind of
use that little X tuck for this one. And this is the cotton Oxford shirt from quints, the organic
cotton Oxford. And it's hands down one of my favorite shirts. I wear this all the time or the
blue one. But I also have this leather skinny belt. And so I just wanted to show you again how
you can take it from just very basic. You can just do the barrel jeans, the button down shirt and some
statement flats or statement shoes of some kind and keep it as simple as that. Or you can go farther
and add a belt, pull in my Dior look for less bag. And you have this just very classy, classic,
timeless look that is super easy to pull together and repeatable. When I say repeatable, I mean
repeatable. So now I'm going to show you this same outfit, but with a different look with a little
more color. If that is your thing, I definitely love color in my wardrobe. And so I want to show
you that just because you're using formulas like this, doesn't mean that you can't incorporate
color. So now I am doing, this is also another shirt from quints, another button down and a navy
belt. This is a suede navy belt, but I'm adding a pop of color with these very like chartreusey
green ballet flats, which have rarely left my feet. And then this, I mean this bag from quints,
okay, y'all, it, it looks very much like the MZ Wallace one, but again, for a fraction of the
price. And this whole thing just pulled together is the exact same outfit formula that we saw before
with the button down, tucked in with a belt and some statement shoes. And yet it has a very
different feel, a very different vibe to the whole look and the outfit and definitely brings in color.
I feel like people sometimes think that these outfits have to be boring and that they just have
to be basic colors and they really don't. You can absolutely bring in color. In fact, coming up,
I really want to do a video where I share how to create a capsule wardrobe that is colorful
because I feel like every capsule wardrobe you see is like black, tan, neutral, and I want to
show you how you can do the same thing even if you are a color lover. So let me know down below
in the comments if you would want to see that. Give this video a thumbs up if you want to see a
colorful capsule wardrobe. I'd love to do that for y'all. But the next sort of formula, again,
these are really, it seems so basic and easy because they are. So this is denim again with a white
t-shirt and then some kind of different topper. That's the part that we're really changing up. So
this is the Quince Organic Cotton Cropped Fisherman Sweater. I have this sweater in probably like four
colors. It's, again, hands down one of my favorite pieces from Quince and I love that you can really
like mix it up basically in how you style this and how you wear it. But this brighter sort of
Klein Cobalt-y blue color is very on trend for the season and of course mixing with the on-trend
green shoes. You now have an outfit that's very basic and simple but it's hitting the spring
trends, it's comfortable, and it's easy to replicate in other styles and ways. This is a
boatneck sweater from Quince that I love. I think spring and summer is the best time to wear white
or cream sweaters. They just, oh, I just love the crispness of them at this time. But mixing that
with some really fun platform leather shoes, also from Quince, and you can throw it over your
shoulders, the sweater, not the shoes that is, but the sweater. You can just kind of toss it over
your shoulders for that very casual vibe. You can do the sort of what's the cool girl version of
wrapping it around your neck now is doing it kind of just over one arm, which I thought was kind of
weird at first but I gotta say I actually kind of like it. It's comfortable, it's a different look,
and it feels like it stays on better and you still have functionality with your arms. It doesn't feel
so much like you're pinned down under a shoulder draping sweater. However, of course, all sweaters
meant to just be worn as, you know, as they come out of the bag, just throw them on and wear them.
That's what makes them great. They're comfy, they're soft, and this is truly, you can see that even with
a little front tuck, this still drapes really well because of the quality of the material. It's just,
oh, chef's kiss. It's so, so good and I love this like kind of creamy white color and the boatneck
looks really cute with the plain t-shirt under it or nothing under it and have a little more skin
exposure, but this is a very classic look. It's the same outfit you saw before just with one slight
variation in what that third piece is and what shoes I mixed with it. So we're not reinventing
the wheel here, we're keeping it simple. So this is another variation of outfit formula number two,
jeans and a white t-shirt. Now I'm wearing some slide on like mule type shoes and then my new
polo, striped polo sweater from Quince. I really love this because I know not everyone loves like
cropped sweaters, but you'll see when I take this off from my shoulders and put it on, you'll see
that I just love where it hits because it doesn't require any tucking. So if you're someone who
doesn't love doing like a front tuck, a side tuck, or any kind of tucking at all with something
especially like a sweater, first of all this has like the band, the hem, the knit there is not
super thick so you can tuck it if you want. If you're wearing super high-rise pants you could
definitely do like a little front tuck, but if you're not you can see that there's no reason to.
It hits in a good spot so that you could still wear a belt if you wanted to or you could just do
no belt and it hits in a good place so that it it just fits well if that makes sense. It sits in the
tucking is not required of this sweater which I think is what helps it to really stand out,
but again this is like all those kind of like, I don't know, Diane Keaton, nautical, coastal
grandmother vibes in the colorway of this and I love like this sort of polo neckline of this and
still wearing that crisp white t-shirt under it. I think it adds like a slight level of sophistication
and stuff to it. Now you could take that white t-shirt off and do like some really pretty
layered necklaces or something like that in place of that sort of white t-shirt, but there's
something about a crisp white crew neck underneath a sweater that just peeks out that I think is
really pretty. Again with the versatility I want you to see how this formula can look very different
so this is a Mongolian cashmere tee so instead of a plain white tee you're swapping that out for this
insanely soft and beautiful navy Mongolian cashmere tee. I mean just a moment for the beauty
of this. I love it so much but again I want color. I'm a girl who loves color in my wardrobe so
now I'm doing a navy croc belt so we're adding a little bit of texture there something different
against that Mongolian cashmere. We've got the croc print but it's navy and then I'm mixing in
my favorite chartreuse green ballet flats that are super comfortable and then over my
shoulders I'm tossing a similar green a much thinner button-up cardigan and to me this is like
you know there's a lot of outfits that I style up and I love them I would absolutely wear them but
you know sometimes you just put on something that feels like you and you're like yes this is me.
That's how I feel I think because I love this green color so much and I know it's not everybody's
cup of tea in fact a lot of people absolutely hate this color but I love it and so to me this
is like yeah this feels like Angie you know and that's the best part of styling up outfits and
trying on different things and you know that's why I encourage you just to like grab things
out of your closet try them on style them get the full look and the whole idea together because
sometimes it's hard to visualize until you see it on yourself and then you're like yeah you know
I really love this this really feels like me so highly encourage you to do that but this is again
essentially the exact same outfit formula you've been seeing for the last two or three looks
but gives a totally different feel when it's all said and done. All right our next formula is where
we're going to swap out jeans for a skirt and same thing as before you can do a skirt a long
like maxi length skirt with a basic white tee and some statement shoes statement sandals or
I'm going to show you how to wear this if it's too cold where you are to be wearing a t-shirt and
sandals I got you don't worry but this is that crepe skirt from quince that I have the shorter
version of that I told you is like just one of my all-time faves I also have the black one and they
did release some new colors including this insanely gorgeous tomatoey red but I want to show
you some different ways to style it okay so just with the plain basic white tee yes yes we love it
we're here for it but also with a button down so we can really kind of class this up and take it to
another level I love the simplicity and sort of the feminine feel of just the skirt and the white
t-shirt that's a little more cropped but you add the button down and now we're getting a little bit
more classic a little more timeless a little classy and you can still do all kinds of great
tucks especially when you have these new like these are like cooling shorts from quince do you
see how stretchy this is y'all I cannot even believe it but they are my favorite to wear under
dresses skirts anything because it also allows you to tuck in different ways if you want to and
kind of tuck them into those stretchy undershorts they also keep from the chafing you know the thigh
rub and stuff but you can also do a really cute tie for the white button down again I showed that
in my styling video I did recently showing you different ways to tie and tuck button downs in
that video so this is that kind of bow tie tie for that but again with sandals some sunglasses
very like I don't know I'm going to Italy for the summer feel but it's something that's so easy to
replicate with whatever skirt you have whatever button down whatever sandals you know whatever
your colors of choice are you can replicate this look and it's very similar to the ones we've seen
before just with a skirt instead of jeans now I also wanted to show you if you've got a skirt like
this and you want to wear it now maybe you love this tomato red as much as I do and you want to
wear it now but it's still too chilly now I've added just a really soft thinner sweater with
this that's kind of like a heathered oatmeal color and of course you could keep the sandals
if it was warm enough for that but you could also switch it out for these slide on mules
and now you've got something that's a little bit more like cooler spring appropriate now you could
absolutely of course add necklaces and other things but I really wanted to keep these look
simple just to show you that it doesn't require adding a bunch of jewelry and other things to make
simple outfits look good you can still absolutely do that and keep the simplicity level of the
outfit while getting that kind of like elevated more pulled together look that says I didn't try
too hard but I tried just hard enough to make this whole outfit come together and I think that's you
know I don't know quite frankly what a lot of us are going for is we don't want the outfit to look
like we spent forever putting it together but we want it to look great so now we are going back to
one of the previous outfit formulas because I want to show you how that same outfit formula we showed
earlier still works like it's just repeated like there's very new under the sun right there's very
little that is new under the sun is what I mean to say and so this is that same outfit formula
you saw in the beginning just with white denim so if you think about things it as formulas and
then it's just plug and play for whatever kind of bottoms or top or sweater or statement shoe
so this one is white denim with this gorgeous navy and white striped quince sweater that I
adore it is so like nautical summer Americana kind of feel like I'm heading to Cape Cod I'll
see you guys later I'm allergic to lobster and shrimp so I won't be heading to Cape Cod but
it's very cute with these adorable like clog wedges that adds like something extra little
statement but not too much right it's not fighting with the stripes and the sweater and everything
they kind of balance each other like just enough to be something fun and different but not so much
that it's like these two things are aggressively fighting against each other for what is the
statement you know because that striped sweater is it is a statement but it's not um it's not too
too much if that makes any sense at all what I'm trying to say but it's the same formula that
you've already seen same thing here I wanted to show you how this is the exact same formula but it
ends up looking like a totally different outfit these are some like cargo barrel pants that I got
that are I mean insanely good for the price I am honestly a little shocked as well as these like
knit slide-on shoes that I got and I've paired them with my quints same like cotton organic cotton
fisherman's sweater the cropped one now I'm jumbling up all my words but it's that same
one is the blue one you saw in the beginning just in a tan color and if this kind of colorway is
more your vibe you can see how it's essentially the exact same outfit formula but it ends up
feeling and looking different just by swapping out what the shoes are or what color the pants
are whether they are you know this kind of green cargo pant style the barrel pant or their jeans
or their white jeans it completely changes the vibe even though at the end of the day it is still
the same outfit formula I love these by the way they are so cute so different and very very
affordable but again last one I'm going to show you is the same formula we've seen and how it
looks different now I'm pairing it with my blue cotton oxford shirt that I love so much and wear
all the time I wore it like three times this week while I was traveling to Austin and on a plane like
I've wear the heck out of this shirt it's truly one of my favorite shirts of all time really in
all colors but this is again the same outfit formula you've already seen but it has a different
feel now you could add a belt I probably wouldn't because of the casual nature of the shoes but it's
up to you how you style it all right I hope that you found this video helpful I hope that you feel
a little inspired tomorrow morning or today if you haven't gotten dressed yet to run into your
closet apply the formula it's a great way to make more of what you already have and another
great way to incorporate some of the trendier colors and items into your wardrobe but making
sure you're building that off of like mostly staples and things that you trust you know you
love I hope that you will subscribe and come back and join us again for another video but with that
I will see you hopefully very soon
