Good morning everyone!
It is super dark and super early because it is 6.30am or so.
Hi everyone!
Today I'm going to get my hakama fitted
which looks kind of like a kimono with Japanese samurai pants.
I'm also getting my hair done. We'll see how that's going to turn out.
Because it is graduation day!
Today I graduate from a university in Japan.
So first order of business, I have a special announcement!
I get to tell you my school name!
Ready for the big reveal?
Today you guys are coming along with me to my graduation!
I am finally graduating from Yokohama National University
and I'm graduating from my master's degree
and I'm about to be my MBA!
Today is a big day!
Did you get a shirt?
Let's get going!
Let me just give you a quick rundown of how today is going to go.
The studio I'm going to, they're going to do my hair
and they're going to do my outfit
I don't want to pay like $100 for them to do my makeup
if they don't even know how to do my makeup.
Funny thing is, I don't know how to do my makeup either!
But we're going to do it anyway!
One eyeball...
I've got my sakura spring nails to match my hakama.
This is the hair piece that they're going to be putting in my hair
It's going to be a complicated updo
along with some pearl things inside.
This is called chirimen
which is a type of sewing.
There's also shibori
I decided to go with these handmade sewn flowers
because I thought these were cuter.
It's got a little piece so that after the ceremony
if I want to just use this piece for yukata, I can.
I got these yesterday, I'm really happy about these.
Anyways, we're out of time so
we'll just talk as we go!
How do you feel today?
So the boots fit.
I also have some little pearls.
I have to find my friends too.
Ready? Let's go!
We made it!
The sights are huge!
Oh my gosh!
We did it!
Are you ready for your first day of school?
No, I don't know, I'm kind of nervous.
Welcome to my channel and the first ever
Japan school day vlog type of thing.
Today is the first day
my real first day of school
as a grad student in Japan.
Just to start things off
I'm really stressed!
I'm really freaking stressed out.
I'm so stressed out that I actually
I just broke my phone.
The classes for industry analysis
maybe that was a bad choice?
Google Game Theory
which I'm totally not stressed about at all
because I went out to lunch with my friend
I usually end up eating cafeteria food
or convenience store food
which looks so different.
Here are my grades!
3, 2, 1, go!
But this is really good news!
Things are finally going well!
Things are finally going well guys!
Finished the ceremony, feeling good.
It was pretty brief actually.
So what do you guys think?
I don't know why I'm giving a speech
this is not the kind of speech I do.
I'm still wearing it.
Boots?
Boots still fit right?
Ready?
Hey guys!
I want to sit this way
so you can kind of see.
So I did it!
It is the end of the day.
Oh no, what am I saying? Hold on.
I did it guys!
I graduated!
I got my diploma and let me just say
it looks super cool.
It is super cool to see my name
all in Japanese at the official school.
So much hanko.
It's real, it's real!
As of today, I am officially a graduate
of Yokohama National University.
There are definitely schools
that people outside of Japan
are more familiar with.
In Japan though, Yokohama Kokuritsu Daigaku
Anything Kokuritsu Daigaku
but especially this one is definitely
a well known school.
I first applied to the MEXT scholarship
and that let me apply to different schools in Japan.
I picked it because I like Yokohama.
I picked it because I like Kanagawa.
Whenever I told people here in Japan
or at work or people that I met that I was going there
they were like, oh I can't believe you're going to that school!
To me, it's kind of unreal that I'm actually holding this.
This doesn't feel real at all.
I did it! I graduated in one piece.
If you guys have any questions
about what I'm doing in the future
or what I did to get into here
I'm not sure a lot of you guys know
I have a second channel
I keep it a lot more updated on my actual day to day life stuff.
So we did a Q&A about
am I going to actually stay in Japan?
What are my plans afterwards?
What's going to happen?
I'll leave a link below so you can check it out.
In the meantime, if you have any other questions
about school life
or about this hakama
as you can tell, I'm in no mood to take it off
so I'm like, can I just wear this all day?
I can't believe I'm wearing this in my own house!
Ahhhh!
Yeah, one more time.
Look at these beautiful sleeves.
Look at this fabric. This is beautiful.
I totally use this
as pockets.
This is the kimono. This is the under kimono.
And under that I have the under under kimono.
And then I have a bunch of towels
squished in here to make sure that
my body
stays straight and fly it.
A lot of good stuff under here
and I'm in no mood to take it off because it took a while to get on.
Guys, I graduated!
It's so much in part thanks to you guys
and to my family, my friends
anyone who supported me along the way
and I'm pretty sure the only reason
I was able to keep going forward was because
you guys believed in me.
I graduated!
The school president gave a speech and just like he said
all we have to do now is take a big leap forward
and if you're a Ryugakusei
become a kakehashi for your country.
You know, just two little things.
I'm really excited. I'm in a really good mood. I'm feeling really good.
Right back up to work again.
Right back into the shakaijin life.
Until then, I'll see you guys in the comments.
Thanks for watching! Thanks for supporting!
Thank you to all the students
for the past three years.
Thank you to all the students
from Yokohama National University.
Thank you so much.
I'll see you guys next time.
Bye!
