During the time of the Buddha when the golden light first appeared above the misty peak of Vulture Peak or rustled through the thousand-year winds beneath the spreading bodhi trees of central India
He once saw through countless lifetimes with boundless wisdom eyes
On a summer afternoon as the golden sun painted the usually still river red
The venerable Ananda once urgently asked the Buddha about the future of humanity
The Buddha did not speak of collapsing galaxies or bloody wars waged with swords
He remained silent gazing into the endless void where a crescent moon was slowly being obscured by dark ominous clouds
Have you ever in the long silent nights when the chill of darkness wraps around you felt your heart grow so empty it sends shivers down your spine
You look out there through the window of the high-rise apartments seeing the cityscape blazing under colorful lights
seeing life's stream endlessly rushing forward in the haste of sound and color
Yet deep within the core of her being an invisible unease a loneliness amidst the crowd quietly took root and grew like an ever-present unyielding weight
People often use threatening words to scare each other with the two words "face law "
They depicted magnificent catastrophes a day of reckoning with thunderbolts tearing through the sky and raging fires consuming the vast forests
But I as one searching for fragments of the classics amidst the illusory flow of life
I must tell you that the face of dharma that the Buddha once warned about is far more silent and ruthless than one might imagine
It crept into every breath present in every mindless sweep of the hands
And it is quietly bit by bit eroding the very foundation of peace within our souls
The truth about the character "face" in the scriptures is
not the end of matter but the decline of the spiritual
In the language of the sages "face" means tip the final part
e shiver of withered leaves before they depart from the scene
Imagine a thousand-year-old giant tree its lifeblood drawn from the
earth's core no longer strong enough to nourish the farthest branches
That is when the flowers and fruits begin to wither and fade their color and fragrance lost
The Dharma is like that tree
France's face is not one of scriptures being burned or temples reduced to rubble in flames
but when people can only grasp the tip
of the teaching namely its flashy forms
The elaborate rituals outside
completely lost sight of the essence of self-cultivation and mindfulness
Before we uncover the secrets of history together
take a second to connect through this moment by hitting the subscribe button
Your presence is more than just statistics it's
the warm flame that keeps us going on our journey
Uncovering profound spiritual sources
When you leave a Buddhist Asida verse
it is precisely then that we plant the seeds of goodness together
o spread the fragrance of the Buddha's wisdom to the deepest corners of suffering
Wishing you always peace and joy in the light of wisdom
The Buddha taught that when we offer a red lotus flower to another
Our hands are the first place where fragrance is留存 May
you and your loved ones always live in the light of wisdom
Returning to the flow of fate
I suddenly recalled ancient legend about the last wandering monk atop the snowy peak of Mount Himalaya
It was the moment when the world below was endlessly constructing golden temples
where incense smoke swirls and sutras are chanted through powerful
loudspeakers People remain engrossed in debates over doctrine
People divide into sects and they use power to expand their faith
But in a cold secluded cave that beggar sat still in deep meditation
Two thin bony hands gently cradle a tiny bodhi seed
The world mocks him as outdated
People say he doesn't understand the law of benefit from fear but
they don't realize the universe's laws are inherently merciless
when those golden towers collapse before the storms of greed
when those hollow sounds vanished into nothingness
Indeed the seed in the palm of that beggar's hand was the world 's
last hope to revive a conscious forest for future humanity
The era in which we live is a living testament
to that painful contrast Visible law is everywhere
From newspapers to cyberspace
But genuine spiritual insight has become as rare as autumn leaves
We have some of the most magnificent and splendid
temples along with towering imposing bronze statues
Yet amidst these lifeless stone statues can we find
hearts that are generous and overflowing with compassion
The degenerate Dharma era is essentially when sincere faith becomes diluted by calculations of gain and loss
Where awakening is replaced by performative displays of faith
Look deeply into this truth
We live in an era where people can connect with each other globally in the blink of an eye
yet completely lose touch with our own inner selves We
can comprehend complex physical
laws intricate algorithms
Yet it freezes in the face of a faint sadness or an
overwhelming surge of anger—that is the harshest truth of the末法时代
which the Buddha perceived thousands of years ago
He saw a generation of people surrounded by material abundance but spiritually impoverished
A generation in which obsession reached its peak beneath the veneer of artificial intelligence and counterfeit civilization
What you're about to hear next isn't dry dull doctrine
It is a warning drawn from the depths of a heart that spent half its life contemplating cause and effect
The mind traps of the 21st century are ensnaring us like an inescapable web
It does not directly kill the physical body but it quietly suffocates the spirit
making people live like ghosts in the real world
If you feel your mind is weary
If you feel your faith wavering amidst life's storms
then sit here in quiet stillness
To dispel the darkness of the degenerate
age we need no swords or weapons
We need only kindle a candle of awareness right within the palm of our hand
Let the bell of wisdom ring out
piercing through the fog of ignorance
so we may find our way back through the endless labyrinth of illusion
The story of the bodhi seed atop the snowy peak remains
and the question for you is whether you'd choose to be the one building the hollow golden tower of tax evasion
Who will choose to guard the Bodhi seed amidst the
long bitter cold night The truth is about to be revealed
and I believe that after hearing all this your
heart will find a peace it has never known before
a stillness of truth and love
In the following sections
we will together peel back each layer of the modern devil's mask
The things directly governing your fate and karma every day
Prepare yourself mentally
Because this journey will take you through the darkest
realms of fear to reach the true light of liberation
Our footsteps will no longer wander aimlessly through the ever-changing
current of life Once we have comprehended the secret of this era
May the compassionate light of the Buddha guide
us across the shore of delusion to the peaceful shore of awakening
Continuing the underlying current of awakening
I invite you to look deeply into what is called the practical spirituality of our time
Many people mistakenly believe that practicing spirituality means withdrawing
from worldly life seeking out remote mountain retreats to escape suffering
But in reality the Buddha never taught
us to run away he taught us to face things directly
The degenerate Dharma is not an excuse for us to give up
but rather a harsh test to sift out true spiritual practitioners from the ordinary masses
The noisier and busier the outside world becomes
the more urgent the need to turn inward becomes
You see the wealthiest people are often the ones who sleep the least soundly
The most powerful people are often the ones most afraid of losing everything
That's because they built the foundation of their happiness on things that are fleeting
e very things that must naturally follow the cosmic law of birth existence change and extinction
They were so absorbed in decorating the birdcage that they forgot the bird inside was fading away day by day
The end of the Dharma is precisely the trap of clinging to those illusory values
I want you to seriously ask yourself this question: if
all those dazzling lights were to suddenly go out tomorrow
If the phone in your hand turns into a lifeless
lump of plastic what remains of your soul
Are you calm enough to be your own companion Or will
you be utterly unsettled by the relentless resistance
The truth about the Dharma's final age is the loss of the
ability to face oneself We fear silence because in silence
The voice of conscience and unhealed wounds
will rise up Therefore we choose noise
Choosing to fill your mind with endless streams of information to escape reality
But dear friend it's the bitter medicine that cures the illness
The fear I am awakening in you is
not to break you but to wake you up
Someone sleeping deeply beside a deep abyss needs a loud shout to wake up
but not a gentle lullaby that leads straight into a deep abyss
The three traps we are about to analyze are precisely those chasms
We will face them head-on neither avoiding nor romanticizing
so that from there we can find the most peaceful way forward
The end of the Dharma is less frightening than our own ignorance toward
it When you understand the law of nature when you hold the key to awakening
No matter how chaotic the world becomes no matter how harsh life's trials
may be you remain a self-contained island steadfast amidst a sea of storms
Let each subsequent word sink deep into your heart like drops
of sweet orange juice nourishing parched soil of the soul
Our journey has only just begun and the light at the end
of the path awaits those with enough perseverance and faith to walk its full length
Continuing the flow of awakening as we stand together on the
threshold of an era to recognize the true face of the Law
Now I invite you to step deeper into a realm of vid tangible illusion
Where the line between wisdom and ignorance is as thin as a single thread
This is the first trap
The most essential and yet most dangerous trap humanity faces in this era
The trap of sensory delusion put simply is the glut
of illusory perceptions amidst a sea of soulless words
Calm your mind and let your thoughts drift toward an endless boundless desert
where the scorching sun burns up every seed of life and swirling dust clouds obscure the entire horizon
In that harsh landscape a lone traveler parched with thirst pressed onward
He is on a great journey to rediscover the source of life
said to be the source of golden nectar that can
heal every wound and grant eternal life to the soul
Yet strangely the traveler did not move any faster
Each step he took sank deeper into the scorching sand not from
exhaustion but from the immense weight of the bag on his back
Do you know what's inside that bag It's neither
water nor food but thousands of sacred scriptures
Thousands of detailed maps and massive volumes written about water
He paused amid a burning thirst
Unfolding a faint map he began to lose himself in reading about the structure of bone droplets
about the depth of underground aquifers and the purity of sacred rivers
He could preach eloquently about the sweetness of water
about how the stream flows through the rock crevices creating the symphony of nature's sounds
He knew every coordinate of the oasis on paper but in
reality his lips were cracked open to the point of bleeding
His eyes were growing dull from exhaustion
He possessed all theories about life
His soul was slowly dying in the barren wasteland of reality
That is the profound tragedy of the mind's affliction when awareness itself becomes an obstacle
A burden that separates us from experiencing the truth of life
Looking at this 21st century aren't we precisely those miserable wanderers
We live in an era where information is so abundantly provided that it has become overwhelming
With just a touch of your hand you can download the entire Buddhist canon
You can listen to countless sermons delivered by revered and virtuous monks
But alas there is a harsh truth: such knowledge if not digested through the practice of non-attachment
It will instantly turn into a poison of arrogance
Buddhist scriptures refer to this state as "the affliction of falsely claiming realization "
like someone sitting in a fancy restaurant
reading aloud the menu from appetizers to dessert
Describing the flavor with skillful flair yet the stomach still growls with hunger having never truly tasted it
Or like someone sitting and counting money in a bank for someone else
No matter how large the sum he didn’t have a single coin in his pocket to buy peace
The danger of this trap is that it makes us mistakenly believe
we're practicing and progressing simply because we know so much
We read about non-self only to wield our enormous ego in
debates and arguments about right and wrong online forums
We hear about compassion and then use those compassionate standards to judge
belittle and criticize those who don't act according to our own desires
We turn the Buddha's teachings which were originally
a remedy for suffering into a jewel for the intellect
a tool to satisfy the ego's craving for recognition as erudite
At that point the classics are no longer a torch illuminating the path
but instead became heavy stones pressing down on the heart
leaving us too weighed down to sense the steady pulse of inner strength
In classical Vietnamese teachings the masters often remind us that the Way
is not in words but in practice
There are people who never learn a single broken character
yet how tenderly they cherish a flower crushed underfoot
The way they gave their rice bowls to the poor reflected the profound spirit of a true benefactor
On the other hand there are those who are deeply entrenched in the
ways of the world yet when faced with a mild criticism from others
Hatred flares up again like a raging fire consuming all the merit accumulated over time
That is precisely when the degenerate age becomes most evident—when people rely on intellect rather than the heart in their cultivation
Suffering from delusion is not merely mistaken understanding but also clinging
to what one already believes thereby closing the mind to the vastness of truth
We are like teacups already full of water
We couldn't squeeze any more orange juice out because we thought we already understood it all
The truth about the degenerate age is the absence of those
willing to let go of illusory knowledge and return to true seeing
We are surrounded by soulless slogans fragmented
maxims stitched together on social media
eeping our minds constantly agitated anxious and filled with comparison
So what is the gentle solution to free ourselves from this intricate trap
I want you to remember that
The Buddha never asked us to become scholars or brilliant intellectuals
He only wishes for us to become people with awakened hearts not
striving to turn ourselves into vast repositories of knowledge
but become a gentle living stream of truth A
sutra you recite even if just a few words long
f it helps you find the right words to say to your weary partner
f it helps you smile forgivingly at a stranger who's made a mistake on the road
That scripture had become more valuable than ten thousand volumes gathering dust on the bookshelf
True spiritual practice in this age is not about how many teachings you listen to each day
The real challenge lies in how much calm you can bring to the storms of life
Let the teaching penetrate every fiber of your being making it the heartbeat of your soul
Instead of spending hours debating lofty doctrines
dedicate that time to practicing gratitude
Be grateful for the rice you eat grateful for the breath you are
breathing and grateful for the hardships that have forged your will
When you begin practicing from the smallest things you'll gradually
find the burden of mental clutter on your shoulders melting away
making way for an unexpectedly light and graceful transition
France will no longer have the power to dominate you
When you turn your life into a living prayer
Don't let yourself become a dying traveler parched in the desert of false knowledge
Put down the heavy burden you've been carrying
bravely walk forward on the bare feet of truthful
witness and you will see that the spring of life
It's not located at some distant point on the map but rather
flowing right within your own awareness at this very moment
Listen with your whole heart
see with your entire soul
and live with the utmost sincerity of a human being
That is how we lit the lamp of resistance against France amidst
the darkness of our era the way we rediscovered our true essence
amid the endless tangled sea of soulless text
I want you to close your eyes for a moment
Feel the gentle breath flowing in and out
In this moment
all perceptions
all theories become meaningless
Only your presence
your awareness is real
That is the most precious treasure of all—no library
could ever contain it Hold
onto this stillness nurture it
and let it guide you through the first trap of the mind
For the journey ahead is still long
And we need the gentlest heart possible to reach the very core of the truth
Thank you for having the patience to listen to these personal reflections
This is not a lesson or sermon
but the sharing of a traveler walking alongside you on the path toward awakening
Let this stillness spread
seep into every cell so that
when you open your eyes
the world remains the same yet your perception
of it is entirely transformed
The color of profound truth and deep peace
We'll meet again in the next part
o face the second trap even more
intense and brutally fierce than before
where the dark lord hides within the very illusions of the virtual world
May every step you take bloom with the flowers of awareness
and may the lifeless sea of words out there soon become a stream of sweet milk nourishing the spirits of all sentient beings
The truth still lies there
waiting for those with genuine hearts to come seeking
Leaving behind the barren desert of soulless text and arrogant self-awareness
we once again advance step by step into a realm of mind so dark and merciless it is a thousand times more intense than before in this age of spiritual decline
a place where the boundary between good and evil is twisted beyond recognition
In the classical Eastern Buddhist system
When speaking of the six realms of rebirth there is a realm known
as Atula It is not a dark hellish realm devoid of sustenance
but a realm inhabited by beings blessed
with great fortune beauty talent and wisdom
yet harbors a harmful seed within its heart that it cannot cast aside
That is pride resentment and the ever-burning flame of hatred
Thousands of years ago the Buddha described the realm of Atula as a place of endless unrelenting battles
There sentient beings use their merit to destroy one another merely to satisfy their arrogant egos
Today as I turn the pages of ancient scriptures to reflect
on the reality of the 21st century I shudder to realize tha
e realm of Atula is not located on some distant planet
beyond the universe but it is right before our eyes
right within the virtual kingdoms built from billions of lines of code
That is the second trap relentlessly draining the vitality and purity of the human soul day and night
Do you not see that never before in human history has
spreading evil become so effortless and so devastating
We are living in an era where people can wear an invisible mask
ding behind screens emitting a cold blue glow
o grant oneself supreme authority to judge the entire world
To fully grasp the terrifying nature of this trap
I'd like to tell you a story of cause and effect deeply rooted in the spirit of our times
A story not meant to frighten
o awaken the souls lost in ignorance
The story of a man named Trong
a person who in real life always wears the mask of propriety
and composure Zhong is a teacher a respected figure in society
Always speaks kind and beautiful words in front of crowds
Yet when the office door shuts behind him
When darkness enveloped the computer
screen flickering to life Zhong transformed
into a completely different person Under anonymous alias
e became the leader of groups specializing in rummaging through tras
Mocking and attacking celebrities or individuals who make mistakes online
The root of that evil deed originated from a tiny insignificant seed of envy
Zong had always dreamed of becoming a great writer but failed
and he cast that bitter resentment onto a young author beloved by the public
Trọng began typing the first lines brimming
with venom analyzing cutting and pasting
distorting every word of that young author
falsely accusing him of immoral acts
Thanks to his sharp writing skills
Trọng's posts quickly attracted tens of thousands of shares
giving rise to an invisible mob of furious followers
They rushed to tear the victim apart
with the harshest words imaginable
without bothering to know the truth They claim to act out of duty
the name of protecting the purity of literature
to satisfy the selfish ego's thirst for blood
Under the overwhelming pressure of millions of hateful messages directed at him and his family
The young author with a fragile soul could no longer
endure it He chose to end his life on a stormy night
leave behind a heart-wrenching letter soaked in tears
Beg the world to spare the loved ones left in silence
When the news broke she sat frozen in front of the screen her hand
trembling slightly though the flicker of emotion vanished in an instant
Shortly afterward it was swallowed by arrogance
He told himself he was merely stating the truth
And that departure was due to his own weakness
But sir the universe's law of cause and effect has never overlooked a single soul
And it has never once distinguished
between the virtual world and the real one
Virtue arises from the mind manifested through speech and
action When you type a line infused with harmful energy
Even if you use a pseudonym the karmic consequence will still be directly inscribed into your own storehouse consciousness
Many years have passed since the young author's death faded
into memory and Zhong has become a father
The most precious thing in life is not fame but
his only daughter incredibly beautiful and talented
The girl is just turning 18 carrying a kind heart
and a burning desire to shine on her artistic journey
During one appearance on a television competition
I accidentally said the wrong thing due to being overly nervous
Trọng's daughter became the center of a
social media storm and the true tragedy began
In the dark room Chong helplessly watched as his little
daughter was cursed with the foulest words imaginable
Netizens flooded the girl's personal
page sending threatening messages
Her images were edited into extremely vulgar pictures
The girl once lively and energetic suddenly sank into severe depression
Locking himself in the room refusing to eat or sleep his eyes wide with terrified delirium
The climax of the devastating collapse came when Chong read a lengthy tedious analysis
He called for a boycott and forced her into a corner
Each word and sentence in the piece was cold and merciless sending shivers down the spine
Zhong suddenly realized with horror the structure of the writing
e use of biting sarcastic language and the skillful manipulation of the crowd
It was exactly the same way he had once destroyed that young impostor ten years ago
The universe precisely mirrored the verdict he once pronounced upon others
And now it descends upon the head of the one life he loves most in the world
That night I heard the girl sobbing uncontrollably her cries piercing through the silence as she screamed in terror from the adjacent room
Kneeling heavily he slammed his head into the wall until blood trickled
The agony tearing at his soul wasn't just from grieving his
child but because he had come to understand a horrifying truth
These very hands sowed the seeds of the poisonous flower
And now the child must swallow that bitter truth whole
This stirring tale is the most authentic portrait imaginable
on the operation of verbal karma in the digital age
Whenever you utter a malicious remark on social media
You think you're aiming at someone thousands of miles away
You think your phone screen is a shield protecting you from
harm but in reality your mind is like an impartial mirror
When you spit into the sky that patch of spittle cannot soil the sky
but it will land straight on your own face
The ugly image the hateful words you hurl— the recipient may never even read them
But it is your own soul that has been defiled and the poison lies right there in the very instant that thought arises
That is the ultimate decline of pure self-nature
Social media has inadvertently become the fastest and most terrifying
amplification machine of collective energy humanity has ever faced
In the old days a harsh word could only hurt a few people nearby But
today a single social media post can reach and harm countless others
A single viral video with a confrontational message can pierce millions of hearts in just one night
As someone who has spent many years delving deep into the vast sea of scriptures in search of truth
I must send you a heartfelt warning: when you praise
something evil when you join a foreign crowd in unison
o drop angry symbol or leave a humiliating comment about a fallen person
You are voluntarily signing a covenant with the darkness
The cycle of hatred will tighten its grip on your fate
urning you into a soulless pawn in the hands of the demon of lust and obsession
We are sacrificing our precious spiritual lives
exchange for a few fleeting moments of satisfying the lowest of instincts
The king of the末法 era doesn't need to appear with terrifying
fangs and claws It only needs to use our own fingertips
using our own ignorance to condemn one another
in the hell on earth we have created ourselves
Yet Buddhism through the ages has always been the path
of compassion and wisdom where no sin is beyond repentance
There is no karma that cannot be transformed if one knows how to turn back
The solution to step out of this illusory realm of Atula
It doesn't require you to abandon your phone or cut
yourself off from modern life It demands far greater courage
It takes courage to face the shadow within oneself and
practice the Dharma of non-attachment in every touch
Transform the mindless screen before you into a
pure sanctuary Before typing a judgmental comment
I'm asking you to stop right here for just 3 seconds—only 3 seconds
Take a deep breath feel the stream of air flowing into your chest
And ask oneself whether this speech brings understanding and compassion
Is this speech hurting anyone
If the answer is yes courageously erase it
That moment of restraint is your victory over the dark lord
It's a moment when you nurture the bodhi seed within your heart making it even greener
and more vibrant The Buddha once taught that all sentient beings possess Buddha nature
Each carries within them an incredibly pure radiant essence
The person being骂ed out there by the crowd also has parents
Having a family means harboring private sorrows that we never truly understand
Instead of harsh words offer them compassionate understanding
If you cannot speak words of affection then at least keep a silence worthy of the sacred
Put your phone down and turn off the noisy notifications
that are waiting to pull you into the whirlwind of gossip
Step out onto the porch and gaze up at the quiet night sky
Do you see it Everything in this universe continues to move
forward in profound peace No judgment needed no praise required
The wind still吹s through the bodhi trees and the moon still shines down on the tranquil lake
Only when you extinguish the flame of hatred within your heart can
you truly attain the ultimate peace taught by the path of liberation
The realm of Atula will naturally vanish when each
of us lights our own lamp to guard our mind
Let these words of reflection serve as a wake-
up call awakening the innate goodness within you
so that we never have to endure the profound regret too late as the father in that karmic story did
The stillness now is not the silence of sound but the
calm that settles over every disturbance in the mind
Close your eyes let your hands go slack and allow your heart to become empty
Clear and pure inhale — aware that you are alive exhale — vow to let go of all grudges
That silence itself is the most invaluable treasure no power can ever take away
leaving in your mind a faint pure and everlasting sense of peace
Crossing into the realm of Atula where endless fields of resentment and illusory slander stretch far and wide
I lead you deeper into a realm that seems even more tranquil
More subtle yet in reality harbored the most insidious and brutal destruction of the French colonial era
Flipping through the ancient scriptures by the dim light I often find myself drawn
back to the one word—greed—in the doctrine of the twelvefold dependent origination
In the classical Buddhist system ignorance is not merely a lack of worldly intelligence
It's not about being unable to solve a math problem or failing to
understand a theory Obsession in its most subtle and terrifying form
s the scattering of the mind the state of losing the ability to perceive reality clearly
so that six slender shadows drift aimlessly beneath six ceilings
That was precisely the third trap a grand sleepwalking episode in broad daylight
o which humanity this century is voluntarily drowning
To grasp the chilling nature of this trap
I want you to close your eyes and imagine the image of an innocent child
standing helplessly on the edge of a deep dark abyss
Beneath the abyss lies an endless tide of savage unpredictable
life roaring and writhing ready to devour every human existence
Yet the child had no idea of the danger beneath its feet
Its gaze strained tightly on the flickering fireflies fluttering before it
She reached out playfully poking lost in the moment endlessly chasing each flicker of light that danced across the rice fields
She took a step then another moving unconsciously closer to the edge of the cliff
You see that foolish child is the harshest reflection of our collective consciousness in this era
What are those flickering lights They're brief
moments of entertainment lasting just a few seconds
are sensational news feeds that are unpredictable and without consequence
They are the dazzling sounds and colors constantly swirling and disrupting our minds every day
We chase after those fleeting illusions letting the grains of life's time slip through our fingers
drifting helplessly into nothingness without a single moment of awareness
When the Buddha took his first steps on the riverbank thousands of years ago on his journey of teaching and wandering
He left humanity an invaluable legacy called mindfulness
He taught that life truly exists only in the present moment
Yet when the gentle aspect of the path is obscured by the spell of time
In the twilight of the Dharma we have been transformed into beings of forgetfulness
We can sit side by side our bodies present in the same space together
In unison with the rhythm of heaven and earth yet my mind wanders thousands of miles apart
We endlessly chase illusions that never existed in some distant realm
and forgot how to feel the warmth of the hand of the person sitting right beside us
We live in a collective trance
a place where the focus of the soul is shattered into trivial fragments
a place where keeping the mind still for even a few breaths suddenly becomes a luxury
So rare as to be considered miraculous
In scripture Mara also known as the demon
Often depicted as a malevolent force dedicated to thwarting those on the path of cultivation
But from the perspective of someone dedicated to studying scriptures and observing the affairs of the world
I realized that the lord of this era would never be so crude as to reveal himself with claws
Ghastly or a blazing red sky to frighten us
He is far more cunning arriving among us disguised in the elegant guise of convenience
of unlimited entertainment of systematic celebrity obsession
He pours into our hands enchanting sounds that keep
us constantly busy so busy that we exhaust our energy
So busy that there's no spare moment left to return to the café and reflect one's own inner self
He leaves us utterly exhausted after a long day of striving so that by the time we return home
stead of staying behind to smile and chat with loved ones
we once again bury our heads in those illusory windows emitting cold light
Locking themselves away in the solitary oases of their own making
When you lose the ability to sit quietly with yourself for five minutes
when you feel restless anxious if not filled with loud external noises to occupy the emptiness in your mind
That's when you've officially surrendered the sovereignty of your soul to the prince of distractions
To illustrate the brutality of this nightmare I'
ll tell you a story—invisible yet sharp as a blade
A tragedy of forgetfulness one that perhaps mirrors the
figure in silhouette—there we will encounter our own reflection
The story of a young man named Minh a son praised by his neighbors as successful and filial
Every month he consistently sent his elderly mother back home large sums of money and the most expensive items available
In their ignorant minds filial piety is measured by material values
On a winter evening I decided to drive back to visit my mother after months apart
The old tiled house nestled quietly beneath its weathered eaves remained as still as if in deep contentment
The mother greeted him on the porch her eyes clouded by time suddenly lit up with the radiant glow of boundless joy
She hurried down to the kitchen and personally prepared for him the childhood dishes he had once loved most
Yet the family meal unfolded in a silence so profound it felt suffocating
I sat there picking at my food but his eyes weren't on the mother trembling as she spooned soup one ladle at a time
sticking tightly onto the images endlessly scrolling across the screen
He is endlessly chasing the fireflies of a fleeting illusory life
The elderly mother tries to strike up a conversation
She asked him about his work about the journeys he had been through about the cold winter nights when he had enough warm clothes
I merely responded with scattered half-hearted sounds
His mind was preoccupied with processing sensational streams of information from some distant unfamiliar corner of the world
Seeing the child busy the old woman sighed softly and quietly
returned to her room carefully pulling out a small weathered wooden box
She placed the box on the table gently patted Ming's shoulder and spoke in a trembling urgent voice
Son I have something I want to show you
This is a treasured possession your father left behind from long ago
My mother has kept it carefully for decades now She feared she
might one day lose her memory and be unable to tell you about it
Minh raised an eyebrow slightly his eyes still fixed on the
flickering footage the ghostly flames dancing before him
He brushed his mother's hand away his tone slightly irritated
Mom just leave it for now—wait a minute I'm checking the time this is really important
We can watch it tomorrow the two of us no rush
Tomorrow
A phrase brimming with promise amidst the darkness of human existence
Holding on desperately to a future that could never be guaranteed
Hearing her son say that the old mother reluctantly withdrew her hand
Her eyes lowered filled with a quiet sorrow deeper than the well's hidden depths
Slowly she rose to her feet her back bent with age
Slowly placing the wooden box back into the corner of the old cabinet
That night I stayed up very late continuing to scroll through hundreds of
Thousands of other people's stories then sinking into a dreamy exhausted sleep
He had no idea how impermanent this world of life truly was
The following morning as the first rays of sunlight filtered through the leaves
I walked into my mother's room ready to confront her about the wooden box last night
But there was no chance left
The elderly mother gently drew her final breath in the quiet stillness of the winter night
Carry down the story of the monster from the father to the cold waters of Golden Stream
She left quietly like a dry leaf detaching from a branch without pain or resentment
The doctor said she had a mild stroke during the night due to old age and frailty
Standing before my mother's coffin the sky within me collapsed completely
He疯狂翻找柜子的角落 昨天终于找到了那个小小的木盒
The trembling hands lifted the lid revealing no gold silver or precious treasures inside
Only an old stubborn clock long frozen in
time and a small yellowed notebook remained
The final scrawled words in the notebook the ink
still fresh and new were written exactly last night
breaking my heart into a thousand pieces
Mom wrote that her son is coming home this afternoon
Mom is so happy sitting close beside you hearing each of your breaths clearly
Yet Mother felt the distance between them as vast and unbridgeable as a gulf spanning countless aeons
Mom just wishes if only you could pause for a moment
look into her eyes completely once
so that Mother could still remember your face as it was
fading before her eyes closed forever in endless darkness
The precious item from your father your mother wanted to pass on but perhaps her time has run out
Mother couldn’t wait until tomorrow she collapsed her stifled sobs tearing through the silent stillness
But alas the tears of deepest regret cannot turn back the wheel of karma
There's no way to reclaim the precious moment of mindfulness that you let slip away
He sacrificed the most sacred and precious moment of his lifetime
o steal a few fleeting seconds drifting past the aimless flickers of ephemeral flames
That is the price paid for reckless obsession—a price
so exorbitant it drains an entire spiritual life
Minh's story a bitter yet transformative journey is a miniature portrait of millions of lives
We're spinning through the whirlwind of the
digital age We always think we have plenty of time
We lull ourselves to sleep with the refrain of tomorrow Tomorrow
I will listen to my children tomorrow I will visit my parents
Tomorrow I will meditate recite a period of sutras and purify my mind
Buddhist scriptures have never promised us a certain tomorrow
The Buddha taught that human life is as fragile as a single breath
Without exhaling even the most resilient life must eventually close
When your mind is constantly wandering to the past with regret or projecting into the future with anxiety
or scattered aimlessly by external temptations
At this very moment you are spiritually clinically dead
That state of mindlessness turns us into soulless ghosts wandering aimlessly
eating speaking laughing yet utterly devoid of awareness and presence
The French face is not a darkness descending from the heavens above
but rather the quiet extinguishing of the candle of mindfulness right within the very storehouse consciousness of each individual
So how do we awaken from this terrifying trance
How can one reclaim the sovereignty of the soul from the grasping hands of distraction
The solution does not lie in fleeing deep into forests and remote
mountains nor in destroying every convenience of modern life
The middle path transmitted by the Buddhas of the three ages lies precisely in the awareness of mindfulness in each and every present moment
Begin with a wake-up call from the depths of your heart
Pause for a moment and slow down the frantic pace of life
Right now as you're listening to these words I gently ask
you to set down everything weighing heavy in your hands
Close your eyes—can you hear the rhythm of your own heartbeat
She tirelessly pumps each drop of warm blood to sustain this life without demanding without complaint
Can you feel the refreshing flow of energy slowly entering your chest with each breath
Open your eyes and look outside through the window
Can you see the pure beauty of a tuft of white cloud drifting lazily across the vast blue sky
Those wondrous beauties that miraculous life are ever-present and vast around us
Only because of my infatuation with the trembling eyes of the willow did I rush past without even realizing it
Don't let your life slip away like a film reel fast-forwarded to the point of blurriness
And then when the final moment arrives we suddenly realize we've never
truly lived never truly grasped the profound meaning of human existence
Avoiding distraction is the only weapon the sword of wisdom that severs the root of distraction
eep you from being swept away by the fierce current
of this末法时代 When you sit down to eat a bowl of rice
Focus your entire mind on savoring the sweetness of each grain of rice crystallized from the essence of heaven and earth
When you take a sip of water be grateful for the refreshing spring that sustains all living things
Most importantly when sitting beside your beloved
ones look at them with boundless compassionate eyes
Listen with the ears of deep empathy to fully be present with them
Don't wait until the shadow of impermanence falls before regretfully uttering the words "if only "
Let each step you take upon this earth become a step
of awareness so that no moment of time passes in vain
but transforms into the precious relics of everlasting
peace Mindfulness is not some impossibly lofty concept
It's simple intimate and grows as naturally as your own breath
Just have the courage to return kindling the lamp of mindfulness within your heart
The darkness of reckless obsession will naturally dissipate like mist before the dawn
That light will guide you through every illusion
back to the peaceful shore where distraction no longer exists
No more daydreams
Now I want you to fully relax your entire body
letting go of all wandering thoughts about the past and the future
Take a deep breath feel life surging through every cell
And breathe out slowly releasing all worldly worries and distractions
Once more inhale stillness exhale peace
Hold onto this pure emptiness in your mind
Let the wondrous stillness envelop the entire space
Silent silent and feel the magical presence of yourself
Journey through the layers of mystical consciousness
Transcending the storms of hatred in the virtual realm and awakening
After the daydreaming reverie
We now stand at the intersection of darkness and light
In Buddhist scriptures
Even the longest night stretching across thousands of years will
be completely dispelled by a single candle lit for just one instant
In the chaotic and tumultuous era we
are living through the French period
In truth it is a great examination for every soul to return to its original true nature
Now I invite you to embark on a journey of resolution
A journey to reignite the inner light amidst the vast endless night
o realize that the Dharma has
never left us it is always
present in every breath in every beat of the true heart
Returning to one's roots is not a journey to some distant land
but rather a turning back of the current of consciousness to return to the old refuge
In the grand flow of Vietnamese Buddhism
The enlightened king Emperor Trần Nhân Tông who abdicated his throne to retreat to Mount Yên Tử and pursue spiritual practice
left behind a timeless teaching echoed through the ages in the poem "Cư Trần
Lạc Đạo " He wrote "Cư Trần Lạc Đạo " letting go with the flow of circumstances
Enduring hardship with a calm heart
living amidst worldly dust yet finding
joy in simplicity just go with the flow of circumstances
Hungry eat tired sleep At first
glance it may
seem as simple as it
gets But let me tell you
at is the pinnacle of awakening
It is the state of a mind completely masterful over the six sense faculties unswayed by the allure of the six sense objects
In the 21st century brimming with desires and pressures the
ability to truly eat a meal with mindful awareness is a rare gift
o sleep a sleep untroubled by anxiety is a
miracle in real life
to achieve this return
I'd like to share with you a soul-cleansing ritual
—a gentle yet profoundly transformative solution
what I call the spiritual bedtime ritual
Each day
amidst the frantic rush of work and the incessant noise of a restless mind
Spend at least 15 minutes completely
isolated from the outside world Turn off your phone
Turn off the constant stream of news flooding
your mind and sit down in absolute stillness
You don't need to force yourself into some mystical
state at all—just breathe
naturally Observe your thoughts
Your worries and troubles are quietly
watching the clouds drift across the sky
Don't chase after them and get
entangled nor try to force them away
and create more tension When you accept things exactly as they are
when the mind begins to calm like a
still lake with no ripples you
'll be amazed to realize that the Dharma remains right there intact
Calm and clear as a full moon reflected in the depths of a still lake
There is ancient story in the scriptures about a
man searching for a precious gem He wandered everywhere
aving endured countless hardships traversing treacherous
lands in search of an invaluable
pearl of wisdom Until one day
When utterly exhausted and desperate he accidentally
glanced into the small stream and realized the gem was there
ad long been sewn into the hem of his garment without his knowledge
So it is with humanity today
We endlessly pursue peace in external
values—fame wealth
or fleeting pleasures
yet forgot that the jewel of enlightenment has always been present
within the nature of each person The time of the French rule was not frightening
It's only frightening when we lose faith in our own ability to awaken
Look around
Hoa Sen blooms most brilliantly and emits its most fragrant
scent when its roots are deeply anchored in dark muddy soil
Without mud there would
be no lotus and without
challenges there would be
no temptations of this era
We will never have the chance to cultivate a lotus of the heart untouched by worldly dust
Consider this century a great crucible where the
impurities of greed envy and pride are forged and refined
when burned away it reveals the golden essence of pure self-nature
Before closing these personal reflections
I want us together make a gesture of connection and
repentance Repentance is not about self-deprecation or guilt
It is the courage to confront past mistakes so as never to repeat them
With sincere heart I repent all evil deeds committed from beginningless time to
the present arising from greed hatred and delusion through body speech and mind
In response to harsh words online
bitter thoughts of rivalry
The chaotic moments of ignorance dissolve with the pure rising smoke of incense
Grant that from now on my heart may hold only boundless compassion and infinite forgiveness
And now in this sacred stillness
Let us collectively dedicate all merits gained from listening to and contemplating these teachings
With this merit I dedicate it to all sentient beings praying for national
peace and prosperity world harmony and the end of disasters and illnesses
With this merit I dedicate it to my nine generations
of ancestors and seven generations of forebears to my parents across countless lifetimes
Pray for the souls of our ancestors to be guided by the light of the Buddhas of the ten directions and attain rebirth in a pure land
With a sincere heart I dedicate this thought to the spirits of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the peace of the nation
e souls of those unfortunate individuals who have passed away due to illness traffic accidents or the hardships of life
May all beings let go of attachments calm their minds by hearing the sacred chants
Reborn in the Western Pure Land the realm of ultimate bliss carried by the lotus of the Great Way where there is no more suffering or separation
Dear friend if these heartfelt words have touched some hidden corner of your soul today
If you feel a subtle sense of ease amidst life's constant worries that is
precisely the sign that the seed of enlightenment is beginning to sprout
We are never alone on this journey
o keep the light of the heart never extinguished so that we may guide one another through the darkness of our age
