These LIONS are Loving Life! - The Lion Whisperer

Oh Love that Right, good morning everyone today. I'm going to be taking the six lions out on a walk That's Thor's group. It always puts a smile on my face when I see these guys having fun and I want you to have a look at Excitement in their faces and in their body language when I open that gate and let them run in this big area Just have a look at that. And if that doesn't put a smile on your face Then I don't know what will. Who wants to go walking? Hmm Yeah, everybody's excited Everybody, especially the girls and here come the boys Oh my goodness gracious me. Oh my goodness gracious me. What's happening? What's happening guys? Yeah Everyone's happy. Hello. Yes Yes. Yes. Yes. Just give me a second. Oh Off you go Just them having some fun okay, it's really interesting to see how the girls all stick together and the boys Go and try and cause trouble and mark the trees and Do all the things that boys do What's interesting and nice about? These walks is it also gives them a little bit of time away from each other. So that's that's an important Component to Time away from each other. We all know what it feels like to be cooped up in the same place as our loved ones Every now and again, we just need a little bit of space and this is what this does for these lions This gives them a bit of space and those who want to hang back can and those who want to run ahead can also They are just loving life few guineafowls in the tree That we're on the ground That obviously makes for something You can hear them That makes for something cool to chase Good fun chasing guineafowl Hello girls Oh Lions love roads. I've spoken about this before. Why do lions like roads? Well simple answer is it's easier to walk on so invariably a Lion is going to use a road where it can Alternatively, it's going to use well used game parts So alternatively, they'll use well used game parts and then every now and again if they really have to they're going to They're going to trundle across the bush, which is not always the ideal They've got a lot of energy today. So they've set off on a very very very intense pace and I haven't walked For a little while hence why all the excitement, huh? On the prowl crazy cats On the in and out in and out in and out of the bushes Lions pug marks very distinctive you can get to that just now. I just want to keep on following It's very Sludgy here as the water starts to recede As we going into autumn What do you found? Okay, so that's a it looks like an active Porcupine burrow That obviously is filled with smells and that attracts them there It's going to have a quick look Energy, what have you found? Joob joob, let's see Yeah All right, we'll catch you on the other side Boys are hanging Just a few meters behind us Catch up with them now Into spiders web It's between the spiders webs and the Blackjacks, I don't know what's worse Okay, you can see they've already slowed down tremendously the energy levels have been curbed and Yeah, oh you got a bit of a lump there She was bitten on her back one of the others She's been in a scrap Guys mustn't fight Okay Not good You funny things Oh prickly Prickly, okay go around Go around so even though a lion has very nice thick soles like we Would have my nice thick hiking boots so I can walk over the thorns but even having said that Even though they've got these nice thick paw pads They can still be quite sensitive to thorns So they do walk gently Another reason why they like stick on paths Makes more sense. Okay, let's go come Neshy Neshy Neshy How are you my darling? Haven't even said hello. You're rude Yeah You're rude a good example of running through the bush because she's seen a guinea fowl and that is That is well worth chasing. Hey, mr. Guinea fowl. Yeah, not in the mood for games, eh? Where's one lagging behind Think she's got a thorn in her foot Is that they get? They do get thorns in their feet all they do Is they use their incisors And they grab on to them and pull them out They look beautiful. Oh Okay, almost through this thicket Once you pass through the thicket Should be a road here. I can continue walking on the road. I see the boys have joined us They're now leading Now I'm sweating because actually It is quite hot and humid a bit of humidity weird weather that's Sunny not a cloud in the sky today but a little bit of a nip But by the same token We have quite high humidity Hello my girl. All right, let's go. I thought I was saying to Jubes don't even think about it Don't come and steal my pheromones We'll get him roaring. Hello big boy. Oh Here comes Lola and she's gonna get stalked and everyone's back. I'm not even bothering running down the road This is how you make lions fit and it's important this kind of exercise because not only do they go back to their usual areas and sleep better, but it works up a immense appetite and then They eat so this is almost in a sense mimicking the energy expenditure of a hunt so Let them run let them run let them run let them get exhausted and then You know, once they're exhausted you can feed them So they'll be fed tomorrow So I can work up a little bit of an appetite today and then tomorrow Yeah Okay, guys We should head down this way. Hey, come Yeah, naughty You're a naughty pooty naughty pooty Love old Jabari, she sits there and waits for my recognition She sits there and she says Can I go this way Kev? Nah, yeah Let's go that way And she's happy All right. So this is more my pace guys This is a better pace slightly more relaxing Beautiful Just beautiful Having fun And they don't want me to lead If I start to lead They start to run Girls love to lead Neji behind me. Come Neji Come on. Oh Something's caught her nose. What's that? Hmm, I smell it too We're waiting nicely. She's gonna get stalked. I love that So beautiful. Hey sweethearts, beautiful. Hello my girl Yeah, crazy crazy
