Blizzard Car Camping at Walmart

It's coming fast. We got to get out of here. We gotta go. Come on, let's go. You ready for it? This storm is coming up super fast and it is high time to head to our safe location. We've had multiple animal crossings on a very short drive. It's a little bit unnerving but it's also like really cool to see. Definitely time to hunker down. This deteriorated really fast. I did not expect that. We're almost there though. That's the good thing. In 600 feet, turn right into the parking lot. Just a rule of thumb is to get your act together before the warning. In this case, the blizzard warning. Actually, I'm not trying to laugh but seriously, before it actually goes into effect, it's probably better to like be where you are. I always think like, oh well, the warning starts at this time so it'll just start get going but I mean it is like seriously underway. Yeah, I should have gotten here earlier. I will admit it. The good news is is that we are here now and why Walmart is such a great place for me to park in a big snowstorm, in this case a blizzard. We actually know right now that it is a blizzard warning is because they are so faithful in plowing so I'm not in any danger of getting stuck. I think probably just about everybody and their mother is at Walmart tonight. Okay, there's so many people walking around my car. I didn't want to get too far. Like usually a Walmart, I would park a lot further out. I'm just not comfortable like being more on the perimeter because of cars coming around. I just feel much more secure. A little bit closer to the entrance this time. I'm not like right by the building by any means but I'm a little bit closer because I feel a bit safer. The wind is really starting to whip. It's a lot right now. Like the weather is so intense right now. Really, there's storms everywhere maybe except for like the west coast or something but we're trying this tonight. This is cilantro lime. It may not be the healthiest but I really want to conserve as much power as I can. I don't want to cook rice from scratch. The complicated part is going to be rinsing this. I am very hesitant to open the door right now and do this in a Walmart parking lot. This is washed and ready to eat. It's hilarious. There's people outside like yelling and cursing. Like there's like there's you say like every word in the book. What are you thinking about? Parker do you smell the rat? Bless you. When he starts sneezing he definitely smells the rat. I just really really enjoy these springtime storms because it's not bitterly cold. I mean it's just like under freezing right now. We still like get the full effect. We still get the full blizzard. All the like cool sounds and heavy snow, deep snow, beautiful snow. We still get all that. I'm all about the Lord Ingalls Wilder. I actually was gonna try and buy the book The Long Winter. That was my favorite in the series but the bookstore did not have it and if I thought of it in time I would have ordered it. Although I still might order it but actually I probably won't because it's spring now. Spring storms. These are like chef's kiss. The wind is really really picking up. You smell chicken huh? Look at his nose. Like his nose. This is where the food is. Like his nose. Like look at that. It's like a direct like line. Oh the broccoli is still a little bit raw. I think I'm gonna go ahead and just add the cheese because I'm at like 45 percent. I would say over the last 20-25 minutes the wind has really picked up. Definitely feeling a lot cozier since I turned the electric blanket on all of a sudden it's just like oh my gosh it's so much cozier. Good boy. You are hungry. On a hike huh? No we're not going on a hike right now. I didn't mean to get you excited. We'll go out in the snow in a bit. That hot blanket's pretty cozy isn't it? Oh my gosh. Look at that. You asking for seconds? All right it looks good. I feel like here what we basically accomplished is just a casserole. I just put these in the crock pot then I reheated it. That's really excellent. This cilantro rice this is no joke. I mean this like truly does. Like it really pops. It's really good. I am so full. I'm gonna have to eat the rest of that for lunch tomorrow. I ate like maybe like three quarters of it and I'm so full. I don't feel like doing my chores. My chores consist of cleaning all this up, putting this stuff back in the fridge. Although I probably don't even need to but to not do it would just be laziness. Put this stuff in here. Cheers. That was a big gust. Is it your magic blanket? Just a little heater. He's so tired. Oh my gosh. Yeah I know you. I know you. I know it when you're wiped out. All right just for a little update. It is 12 32. It is 29 degrees and we are in a blizzard warning still. Actually a lot of northern Minnesota is in a blizzard warning. I was talking to a friend earlier and he is located like on the other side of Minnesota and he is in a blizzard warning. So it's right now it's a hundred percent precipitation. Wind is 18 miles per hour and it looks like it's gonna be a hundred percent for like the next several hours. So this is gonna like keep on going for a bit. Wind 18. Humidity 92 percent. Excellent air quality though. Yeah the car is definitely shaking. Really in the last couple hours the wind has just really accelerated. Woo! Really picked up. I'd love to know what the gusts are. Great for fresh air. Feels good. Oh my gosh. That scared me. All of a sudden it's like it's one figure just walking straight. But he's just going to his SUV. We're good. My last blizzard video a lot of people were asking how would you possibly go to the bathroom like in a blizzard. I do not leave the car in the middle of the night to use the restroom. I will only for like storage for the light yellow stuff I will only ever use a container that screws like a top. Mainly I use Nalgene bottles. If you're a guy I'm truly jealous but or a very talented female maybe you have what it takes but I don't know if you're anything like me maybe I have a slower learning curve. You do need a funnel like if you're going to be doing that. I have a certain like device and I actually have it listed with all the other items in my description and I use that and then I can transfer that into a Nalgene bottle if I want to feel more secure with it or just use a funnel for the Nalgene bottle. You know you can always have like a water bottle and a funnel so that's not an issue. I also have like another composting toilet but that's not something that I use in here regularly. That would be for an emergency. It is like under my cot. I can access it. I would just have to go like under Parker's bed and under the mat and under my mattress. I'm just so ready to curl up in the sleeping bag. Oh my gosh I'm so sleepy. I save like any kind of cup any kind of disposable cup that's what I save for like my sink. Am I disturbing you? Are you so so cozy? Say night night. You're so tired. We'll see you tomorrow. Alright well I have my little night light on here and I'm just like literally getting into my sleeping bag pulling the blanket over me. I'll have this like on for a while. I'm gonna listen to a podcast. I set the timer on it so it will go off. I'll just set it to go off within the next like half hour to 45 minutes and that's it. I think we're gonna have a cozy night. I have a vehicle update but first I need you to take care of him but please hold tight because I do have more to say. It's just not safe. There's like really high snow drifts and there's a lot of traffic and the visibility is not great. I just noticed but um we're actually still under a winter storm warning like the blizzard warning is gone but there's a but I think I'm not sure if that's for like an upcoming storm. People would never like in DC people out here doing this like where I'm from people would never be like going to the grocery store and people would never be out driving. So different. It's like bus buses are running the area. This would never like oh my gosh the federal government would be shut down. My crew's officially from the south. All right so really quick before I get into my recovery snack and the news I just want to give a huge shout out to the plow drivers last night and this morning. I just am so impressed. I mean I know they won't watch this but I still want to give a shout out to the Walmart employees who like helped me. I was just out there. I got some snow like in my kind of in my wheel well and I was about to get my recovery shovel but I was just kind of kicking the snow around. Don't worry it was nowhere near the tailpipe. Nowhere even remotely near that but it was still kind of gonna be a little bit difficult for me to get out because some snow had drifted. Before I could even get my recovery shovel a couple employees a couple guys they like came out with a huge shovel. They just took care of it in like under a minute and I just appreciate that. That was like super super gracious. So big shout out to the people working like really hard out in the storm. Props. We are headed to an accommodation. It's about to get super cold and there's another storm coming and this one it's not one we're really gonna be playing around with. Oh I forgot to show you. I got this. It's 99 cents at quick trip with a K. We're gonna go to an accommodation so we're gonna go like right now after I take him to the park. I don't know. I may not be able to get into the park. We're gonna hunker down. I have a vehicle update. For those of you who've been following I've been trying to decide between a Subaru and a Toyota in alphabetical order. I just want to give you a heads up. Number one I'm not getting a Subaru and I'm not getting a Toyota. Nothing against them but I just found a different brand that is just more economical for me but it still has like excellent reviews and it has a little more space and I can get a little bit newer of a car just fewer miles on it and the same features of the vehicle that I was originally getting which was either a Subaru or a Toyota. So I just wanted to prepare you that it's it's not going to be any of the vehicles that I mentioned. It's not going to be a Forester. It's not going to be a RAV4. It's not going to be a Sienna and it's not going to be a Tacoma. It's still the same type of vehicle. You could imagine like that would be an SUV, a minivan or a pickup truck. It's still like that one of those three but it's a different brand. Super excited. I'm getting within striking distance. I think it's going to be the next paycheck. I think it's going to be in about maybe like 10 days I'm in a position where I'm like okay I'm like totally 100% 110% can do this. I am so ready for this. I am so excited. I just have to like take my time because I've had like a lot of things happen. If you watch my older videos, my really old videos, I've had vehicles break down. I've ended up in places I haven't wanted to be and so that's why I'm a little more cautious at the pace that I move. I don't just fly in one direction, not look back. I just I tend to be a little more measured in my approach having had some pretty rough experiences under my belt. I'm sure that's understandable to most of you.
