Vinicius Jr Vs Man City | Champions League Last 16, 2nd Leg | (5-1 on Agg) 2025/26

Their 100th European Cup goal against English opposition In this first half We will look for a bright opening, that's for sure Renato Silva And a good goal Rudiger is of that ilk Yeah, he's certainly the press conference He enjoys the physical aspect Well, we've got an early chance Makes a run from deep Kusinov tries to get a foot on it Only puts it into the paper Bounced off Courtois Lively opening to the game Man City don't need to be going Alexander-Arnold check, he's okay In the way firmly by Hausen Vinicius Junior He wins it Vinicius Junior making the run Gets the shot away off the post Bounces off Donnarumma, very nearly in And it's still alive Little clever chip back to Vinicius And that's edged away by Bernardo Silva I think he was edged away by his elbow Oh, is it offside? It's all happening now, isn't it? None of that officially counted Because it was offside anyway This is being checked For a penalty But the offside preceded it The pictures don't lie It's just an instinctive reaction You think it's going in and you lean into it Martial, gonna go and see Once he's seen it on the... I think, maybe in the post Penalty Oh, he sent him off as well Round ball on the line to deny Would need to get five if he scores this To win it without penalties Fearing the worst Vinicius Junior, this time gets it right It's 1-0 to Real Madrid on the night And 4-0 on aggregate And the quarter-final beckons Yeah, he knows, they know how big that is I'm sure those Real Madrid players didn't feel that The two-legged tie was done and dusted in Madrid But now, they will be sensing that As will he You can never rule Real Madrid out Not in this competition But even though City have had... Blocked by... I'm sure many... Vinicius gets it back to him Opportunity here, Gula back in the middle And in it, Vinicius arrives And he scored one, he might have had three He's put it on the plate, Gula, hasn't he? Absolutely on the plate Vinicius Junior gives it away Left-hand side, it's a... Disappointing pass there The golf is back to three Pangarcia Vinicius works it on Petrach Run in the middle Up in support There's a bad brush straight away I'm sure many to Vinicius Hard and retrieving And did really well Loses out, body language wasn't great Having lost out And then Kushner comes across And a free kick goes against him for the challenge on Vinicius And that's a yellow card Initially, I thought it was strong defending He's just put his... Body in the way Here's Rudiger And there goes the half-time whistle Moved a lot of the jeopardy out of the game Once that Vinicius Junior had stroked home his penalty Midway through the half After there was a handball on the line by Gennaro Silva, some confusion in the build-up Because the referee seemed to have Acknowledged a flag for offside But that was counted And then it was given as handball on the line Vinicius stroked home the penalty And... And Dean Hurston's been superb over the two legs The best in Europe, I think Real Madrid's first choice, 11 You think of the Players that have been out Making a forward run, Vinicius staying wide And they're playing good possession Now Vinicius Junior What's he got in the middle? So he claimed flat, stays down And then it goes up To get through Now can Real Madrid counter here decisively? Vinicius, good cover And a good turn of pace by Afrikaner Kusinov After 20 minutes As they look for Vinicius Junior who scored the resultant penalty Link up as a trophy, Pep Guardiola Covets, he's won it four times as Manchester City Who knows? Vinicius played forward to him, out comes Donner The challenge, it's a corner He wants a penalty, I think he's Smiling rudely and reflected that it wasn't Yeah, you're allowed to Stand your ground It's good refereeing Sorry Alan Up in their tie, here's Garcia at the other end Looking for Vinicius Bit of a place with England No, he's Not looking Goals have made all the difference to the tie, Trent Alexander-Arnold Vinicius brings it down Oh, got something on it Not to be ignored Too many with the run Alexander-Arnold have gone on beyond him Vinicius Mbappé Slows down the defender, kicks up through the gears Kylian Mbappé in full flow Pulled back there There's a shirt pull Oh, he didn't see it He got away with that, Manchester City, Ike Norrie with the pullback No, maybe in a few Schumann into Kammerlinger, that's offside Vinicius, surely, surely he's offside And he, and he get another Donner on the saves, that's cleared away by Ake, and drilled home by Valverde And then the flag goes up How infuriating for them all One on the night, 4-1 Let him go in the summer Someone's going to pick up a good play, that's a lovely ball To Vinicius, onside this time But he couldn't get away from Gueye Shot was blocked, Kammerlinger made sure it was Vinicius, that was a little bit Untidy Gets it back again By Norrie, air kick Mbappé, Kuzanov won it back The crowd loved that, Mbappé It's almost as if they wanted to play Mbappé in there Carvajal Valverde Very nearly in for Vinicius It is now, the tie is over Real Madrid won it Comfortably at home, 3-0 Could have been 4, he had a penalty squandered They've won it 2-1 in the second leg And he has got both of them 5-1 to Real Madrid On aggregate And Pep Guardiola is left staring Coming into space Manchester City Out of the Champions League Yeah, they've given an awful lot of effort Since going down to 10 men Some of the City And they are checking And the goal is disallowed Into the last minutes of Stoppage time City, think of Doku and Cherokee Players that can Have an effect at the weekend At Wembley against Arsenal Over the two games Real Madrid have been excellent Explosive at times In the first leg, here's Vinicius, that one is it That's a splendid goal To round off the tie, lovely ball Played forward It's Manchester City 1, Real Madrid 2 5-1 on aggregate And Vinicius Junior almost inevitably Has the last word Well it was the first time Cross that did it Nothing like the first time cross On which you can gamble Get ahead of your man It looks like Vinicius And it is Real Madrid Who I think deservedly go through After the two legs Winning 3-0 at home last week 2-1 here tonight And it's Vinicius Junior who steers them through Again to a last 8th place Yeah, it was obviously Won at the Bernabeu And then early on here with The red card to Bernardo Silva Was more than enough For Real Madrid Who have got players like him Kylian Mbappe Coming back Another team you've got
