The last time I took the kayak out, I broke a paddle. Paddle. Paddle. I broke a fin.
Anyway, we're on the water out here. Remember the name of the lake? We're at Palo Pinto
Mountains State Park. I got the kayak in the water. First time since I've got the repair done
and it seems to be working pretty good. I don't have enough battery to do much video,
but I did want to give you a view of the fishing platform.
The lake is larger than I thought it was. Quite a bit larger. You can see that rock from the
boat launch. You can see the dam from that rock. We'll go over to that rock.
We can see 98% of the lake from here. This is really cool. It's like we're way up high,
but we're sitting on the water. When we look at the dam, I know because I drove up over the big
tall hill how far down that is. This is a cool place. You should come here, especially if you're
driving east or west on the freeway because this is so convenient. Such a pretty plan on two days.
Fishing platform. There's a trail that leads to that right there. I didn't make it over there
yesterday. Now they've got the trail closed off because they're working on it. I don't know. Maybe
I can come in. Looks like they took advantage of maybe an old water pumping station because
there's a platform and then there's a pipe. Yeah, we need to explore that before we call it a day.
Reminds me a whole lot of Meridian State Park, Cleburne State Park,
and several other state parks that are in this west Texas rough hill country.
There's work here that looks like this is an old park, but it's a brand new park.
I don't understand. The amphitheater. So this is the area that we were looking at from
the kayak. You can see so there's there's old work here. Maybe someone's house. This is cool.
Old staircase. So I guess this was a boating area or something. Dry stack walls. This is neat.
I like it. Another place to access the water. I was noticing that there's there doesn't really
seem to be a swim area. So maybe that's what this is supposed to be. Let me take a phone call.
So these dudes are here when we were looking at the old the old work stuff and they seem to think
that was built by a rancher back in the 1920s. He built the lake. Anyway, we're done. I got I got
another cool video I'm going to go work on. I encourage you to come visit Palo Pinto Mountain
State Park. If you've not already, I'd be most honored if you click on that subscribe button.
I know your time's valuable if you're still with me at this point. I certainly appreciate it. So
please click the subscribe button and remember to hit that bell as well. Dude RV's back on the
road. That's right. Got some cool things in work this year. All right. I'm done for my patrons.
Your generosity certainly has kept this show on the road. Thank you very much. You guys rock.
All right. I'll see y'all next week.
