Welcome to Dude RV. Hey, I appreciate you stopping by and of course say it with me,
you got here just in time. I'm not sure where I am on this video. I've done so many openings.
Anyway, I'm, I'm, you got here just in time because I'm camping out at Ray Roberts Lake.
I'm camping at Ray Roberts Lake State Park. I'm visiting stuff that I haven't seen. I've
camped here many, many times, but I'd never been down to the spillway. So I went and saw that
today. So I'm going to just jump into cutting, editing, and present you with this two-day
adventure at Ray Roberts Lake State Park. And then I got to pack up and get on the road tomorrow to
go rescue the wife. Right now, I'm going to strap on the helmet and I'm going to get on the e-bike
and I'm going to go ride. Here's the map, the park map. You see this trail that goes out here
around. Yeah, I'm going to take that. I'm going to take the e-bike and we're going to,
we're going to go on that trail. Shouldn't, shouldn't be too excessive. Anyway, I don't know.
Never been there. We're going to have footage for that. We're not going to have a scooter
run on this set because I've documented all of the campgrounds here already.
Put the kayak in the water. We're going to go see some...
Anyway, let's just get to it. I got to get on this bike before the day's over.
Into the trail. And you got her just in time. That's right. This is something I didn't even
know existed. This is Texas State Lodge or the Lone Star Lodge and Marina. And it's starting to
rain on me, so I don't guess I'm going to be able to get in the water. But anyway,
we're going to check out the lodge, look around a little bit, go find the marina,
look around a little bit. And if the weather clears, we're going to go ahead and get on the
water. Let's go see some stuff. Let's go see some Jordan State Park stuff. He's on the Chisholm
Trail. Nice. You can get married down there. This is cool. I had no idea this was here.
All right, let's keep walking. Should have broke out sable. I went to the boat ramp,
but there is not a parking spot available over at that boat ramp.
I don't want to be on the water in the rain anyway. So we're going to check out the Lone
Star Marina. I think this is new. It's been a while since I was at Ray Roberts,
much less the marina. But this kind of implies that the marina may be new.
So we got our access over there also. Yeah, this is brand new. There's hardly any boats.
If you're looking for a boat trip on Ray Roberts, there are plenty available here at the marina.
Oh look, you can rent kayaks. There you go. All right, let's go see some more stuff.
So the marina has been open for just right at a year. The lodge was open in the 80s.
I was just given the lowdown from the ladies working the little store. They do have plans
and are in the process of getting permitting for an RV loop. So let's go. There'll be more
RV spaces here. And if you have a boat, this would be a great place to bring your RV.
All right, now I got to hike all the way back out of here. Let's go see some more stuff.
What a surprise. So I was wondering why the park was called Pond Creek. Well, now we know.
So there's Ray Roberts Lake, and then there's a pond. I bet there's some fish in that pond.
I'm almost tempted to kayak it, but I don't want to drag the kayak up and over. Let's get back on
the water. We are, we are moving right along. I haven't fixed the kayak yet. I'm at the dam.
I'm below the dam. I have camped this lake many, many times. I've camped both sides,
Johnson Branch, Idaho, but I have never, I've never been down here.
That's a pretty good flow coming out of there. Hike back up the hill.
A lot of water. A good looking bass. All right, we're moving right along.
They don't seem to be biting too good. I only saw one fish, but they must have
been biting this morning because the dumpster's covered in buzzards. I have to wonder if the
fish are actually biting or are they just waiting on a handout. They're just too lazy to go look
anywhere else, maybe. Moving right along. Let's go see some more stuff. We are still below the
dam. This is part of the trail that we saw Saturday, several days ago. We went out last
week when we were kayaking on the east, on the Trinity River. This is where that river comes
from. It comes out of that lake right there. I think this is the trail. We're going to this
bridge right over here. I think I'm going to be able to put the kayak in over there.
We've got, this is a day use area. It does require an entry permit of seven dollars.
I think this goes up to the spillway. No drinking water on the trail. Now this trail goes
at least to 380, if not further down to Lake Louisville. I need to bring the scooter
and scoot this. Yeah, it's moving. We're going to put in on the old riverbed.
It looks like it's moving pretty dang good. We're going to see. I want to go downstream
and see the old McKinney Road bridge. We're going to go at least that far, if not to the
log jam. The going down part is the easy part. I can get the pelican down there.
I'm not sure I want to, because then I've got to bring it back up. Maybe I don't need to see
that bridge. I don't know. Maybe I just need to man up and do it. This would be a great place
to use that winch that's on. I just stand there and let the winch pull it up. Anyway, let me fix
it. Fix the kayak. We'll put it on the water. We'll go see the bridge. This would be a great
place to use that winch that's on. I just stand there and let the winch pull it up.
Anyway, let me fix it. Fix the kayak. We'll put it on the water. We'll go see the bridge.
Big catfish in this water. We'll swirl right beside the boat
stream first and test the current. Then we'll come back down.
How are you doing? Catching anything? That was a fun bike ride. I really like that bike.
This is a great park. If you haven't been to Johnson Branch, you need to come out here.
There's lots of cool stuff. All right, I'm gonna have some lunch and then see what else I can get
into. That brings us to the end. We're done here. If you've not already, I'd be most honored if you'd
consider clicking on the subscribe button. I do all kinds of fun and interesting product-related
projects. Click that subscribe button if you've been following along. Thank you so much. Be on
lookout. Dude RV is traveling again. As a matter of fact, I'm almost done. I got the wiring all
put together. We're going to talk quite a bit about this battery. I'm just really excited about
this battery. For our patrons, your support truly helps. Thank you. Yeah, rock! All right, y'all
come back now, you hear?
