Savvy/Newberry vs. Scampoli/Bianchi - Quarter Final Highlights | João Pessoa 2026 #BeachProTour

Maestro Vanessa Hodges You're fired Hi regaggia all good Come come Come come Bingo I'm in the league man Yeah Got it Timeout After the time-out they serve to the barely visible sideline Javi absorbs the heat high dig it's perfect Tight ball it's too tight Bianchi swallows another one Always nice to see a team come alive after a timeout One side-out needed to claim this first set Women's quarterfinal match Bianchi a little early The standing high line will come down No jump needed for that one And it's Italy that takes this first set over the United States 21-15 Slightly crisper side-outs Italy's side -out rate in that first set was 81% Very good There's an aggressive swing and a tighter set Javi good step close to get it underneath the block The goal here on the beach court floor high and fast Javi can't get out of the way of Bianchi's serve It's going to be an ace I'm not even sure it was meant to go out She just couldn't quite manage it Another tough serve from Bianchi Good roll-up there from Devon That is a crucial set there That is a very good strategy by Italy Well-placed line drive serve from Newberry Javi taking a little bite there And Devon with the late pull on a solid set there In terms of timing ensuring the maximum run-up is always optimized Soft shot Scampoli gets a hand on it She's out of system And then just either throwing a pokey or a little bit of cut or a slight chip shot at that stage What a pity It doesn't get to double down because the aggressive pass sails over but Devon reads it well Short shot over the top of Bianchi is perfect Beautiful set and what a finish Tight ball Is that thrown out of bounds No it's thrown inbounds from Bianchi Got the clip of the line just about keeping that one in The fastest time from Simo Timing from Bianchi Oh and Bianchi wanted another one but that one clips off the fingers from Bianchi 8-6 Oh Bianchi making great moves She's fully focused with sharp eyes and precise hands right now Excellent blocking by Jadja Bianchi at this moment Shift in position from the United States There's a stunning cut shot from Simo after moving to that left side A more effective pass too Yeah they've had a few mistakes on their shots They've been really unlucky but that's a solid defense So hopefully that shows they're now getting more in sync A full extreme range shot yet still within the court Pick it up here from Simo Chance to earn one defensively Oh not yet says Scampoli No way The set the poke It's a thing of beauty Here struggling to push their way back A touch from Devon rebounds downward What can she do She has to pin Italy Oh I like the serve but Scampoli comes in with the option I haven't seen too many options Right now Claudia Scampoli is in a difficult position They played through to the middle She's a left-hander They played her on the inside It's a slight offset But I don't think the service received was difficult enough They got lucky But that corner like you said is where Scampoli is There's another good serve This time apply a bit more pressure and a higher heat Time's up Good pull from Newberry Chance for Simo Nice touch from Bianchi on the pull Oh what a swing up the middle as Newberry still kind of moving those feet 16-13 great timeout for Italy Savi comes in and hits a home run too Thrilling for the USA fans One is wiggling and dancing as it crosses the net starting at the left shoulder of Scampoli and ending far past her right side And it's a game-changer for Simo Deuce all even at sixteen It's a solid pull from Newberry the knuckle poke Oh what a twist in the transition and USA on fire Side change here to get into the business end of this women's quarterfinal second set 18-17 Italy Bianchi with a gentle delicate touch It's an open goal for Scampoli but watch Simo Scampoli with another jab Scampoli is a little off the net It's the call and the late shot from Claudia Scampoli is perfect She's struggling and she was given a few chances A couple match points here looking to secure their spot in the semifinals Savi charges aggressively from the middle Bianchi seems a bit off there near the net almost lost track of the approach line I think Serving at the 22nd match point for Italy Going the way of Bianchi Bianchi off the block and out of bounds and that is going to do it Claudia Scampoli Bianchi advances to the semifinals
