It's a rainy day for a revolution! On this battlefield the continental forces have mustered their largest army yet from all corners of the 13 colonies. The British believe that this is to be the decisive battle they have been looking for. The one that will break the rebels force and seal the fate of the revolution
Witness a massive 3v3 battle recreating the American Revolution. Invicta's "American Revolution (Massive Battles)" features intense artillery
Hey, what's up guys? This is Oakley, and we're starting a battle and as you can see the shots are already firing
So this was the no rules battle, and you know what that means people are gonna be using
Artillery so the opponents actually on both side in fact. We're fielding these
Let's see if we can track them down on our side
We were using a range of mortars and various other units I can fire
Definitely a long range so it looks like we're getting off some decent shots and the opponents yep 4-inch mortar batteries on this side
So you'll see those arcing across the battlefield in any case it's gonna be a 3v3 battle
And you'll see quite clearly the theme we're going for here. This is gonna be the American Revolution, so it's gonna be the
United States colonies over on this side versus Great Britain deploying on what seems to be the high ground advantage
So going into this battle. I knew I absolutely knew that people were gonna spam artillery
But what I also knew is that artillery such as these mortars are pretty good
Just because they can fight at a distance, but that's basically their only advantage in terms of damage and accuracy there
They're pretty low and cost efficient efficiency. I would say they're not very great. Well. Let's take a look at this
They also have some of these rocket batteries, so if nothing else you know we do get some nice cinematics
But as I was saying
These artillery units are not gonna be good and so what I'd rather do is spend that money on infantry
So my force is essentially all infantry the only
Exclusion to that are these two light dragon units that I kept just to be able to do some mobile strikes on either skirmishers or his
Own cavalry so that's gonna be the advantage that I'm bringing to the field and you'll see the great dividends gonna pay
It was I'm keeping my elite units back here so Blackwatch
Kings Royal Regiment and then 33rd foot back here, and then my line infantry of three reserves
So I'm actually gonna start deploying, but the bulk of my forces are gonna be up here
So three line infantry here two here two more here all moving up to the crest of the hill
Supported by three of these Ranger units moving up
My how I seem to be thinking that both teams think they're gonna be on the defensive
So that's what you get with some of these new players is they really do enjoy sitting back and waiting
So I'm not sure how this battle would have gone if I wasn't here. They probably would have sat back and exchanged
Artillery fire until well they don't run out of ammo, so it would have been a long battle anyways
Yeah, you can see them sitting back here on both sides, but I'm urging my forces forward
That's what we're gonna be doing bringing the fight to the rebel scum
And it looks like we actually do have some howitzers, so we're gonna bring these into closer comment anyways
My guys are actually charging forward super super quickly so in here sort of column formation kept them moving up
We do have the rain, so that's gonna sort of have some debuffs to our firing rain and a firing range
I believe an accuracy
You can see some of these pioneer Raiders are gonna be moving up. These are gonna be the calorie coming into the forest
He is gonna try and do some initial attacks on my forces
All I'm gonna do is tell my one infantry unit right here to square up as he charges in however
He did deploy some his long riflemen up here the disadvantage for him is he did not position them very well
You can see right here
they're shooting into the forest the rare shot that is able to clear this hill is gonna go right into the
Forest anyways these guys are formed up in square to ward off these pioneer Raiders of course
He doesn't see that because I'm in the forest, and I'm gonna be charging in with my infantry as support
So those are gonna be militia units
So go ahead and try and watch some of this calvary charge in the dark into the forest
So it looks like he does bypass those troops
And he's gonna go ahead and charge right into my infantry here these last units are gonna
Go and form up into square the rest of my forces are gonna be pushing up forcing his guys off the hill
It looks like we are getting some friendly artillery support on
This position because clearing this Ridge is gonna be allowing us to secure this front push down on the opponents
His pioneers here really doing no damage
Square here actually I lost I lost 20 men already
So I'm not sure that was from the Calvary strike probably a couple of them
But the majority are gonna be from his long rifle then
So I guys are me pulling back because he has more of those American units in the distance
Anyways his guys are gonna be losing a lot of men my own square is gonna be here
However what I did not anticipate is more of these guys moving up so light your guns gonna be charging forward right into my melee
Troops although Rangers are gonna be positioned back here. They're gonna be getting some shots off
And my melee yeah, my mission militia guys are gonna be enough to hold his guys back allow me to get some point-blank shots
Into his cavalry a couple of them are gonna drop however
I'm bringing in more of my infantry and my lighter goons right there
And these guys are gonna be reforming to fire into the flanks of his guys
Over on this position he went through with his cavalry and here my line infantry apologies for the rain as well
I didn't choose this battle, but yeah, it kind of reduces our visibility, but it makes it a little more epic
So we're gonna be position ourselves to get some shots off on the hill my line infantry are gonna be forming up and again
support of the mortar batteries
Here my later goons and all these various forces combining fire to essentially yeah flat-out route
I think they didn't even route. They were just all killed, but yeah
That's why I brought these light your goons for instances like that
So I'm gonna pull them back just because I don't want to take that mortar fire
Then we forming up these guys here to ward off any additional reinforcements
And it looks like the Americans are gonna be saying the majority of their forces up here
However, probably he has with these light infantry is okay. Yeah, they're pretty good at long distance
But not when I close the distance like this
They don't have quite the firepower that they would want and so I'm able to get just superior fire on his men
He does have line infantry, but they're only just forming up
I have more guys
Pulling in the woods right here and my light your goons are gonna go ahead and charge right into this unit right here of line
Infantry I wanted to clear away from my own forces here
And what you'll see me do is actually once I had clipped babies basically like 10 or so of his units here
I did loose, you know half my regiment or the main advantage
I'm gonna get is charging through to his pioneer militia
Charging through to his long riflemen and then disrupting this formation
Which is gonna allow me to push up here and now here is the core of my infantry moving up with my Ferguson rifleman
They have greater range and also more of my line infantry
So I'm trying to help with this push
My cavalry is forming up and doing all sorts of disruption here and that's gonna open up his forces for a charge from the rear
He doesn't quite anticipate this and has no way of really countering it
It's gonna force these guys to charge forward and meet with the bayonet
Exactly the last thing they wanted to do. So that was a pretty good cavalry charge
Although it was it did kind of result in the decimation of my own units
it's a risk I'm willing to take and
Now we're gonna get some shots off with my infantry in this position as they form up perfect shot against his long rifleman
And I'm gonna be deploying with my own Ferguson rifleman up here to support the fight and hopefully teal with these long riflemen
But yeah, here we go getting off some good shots against his pretty experienced long rifleman
I'm engaging with my lighter or my more diminished depleted infantry units to tie down his own and then I'm swarming in with the rest
of my units
Over here. My Rangers are getting off some decent shots against his line infantry, but they're in the woods
So it's gonna take a while to get those guys out and look what they're doing here
Puckle guns are being deployed on this front. So this is something I have to be very wary of these are essentially the
This periods machine guns you'll see when they deploy and this is gonna be a very
effective against me especially with these long riflemen backing me up so you can see our allies are firing all their borders to try and
take out these troops and
Now we're gonna be positioning more of our green jackets to help even up this fight
I'm gonna have to pull these guys back. Let's go ahead and watch these puckle guns
Just unleashing. I'm not sure if they're in range. Yeah, there we go
So you can see some of those guys getting off their shots and it looks like
No, that's interesting how the cannons get loaded like that
Anyways, yeah, they're gonna be able to just pour on the fire to my men. So that's why I'm pulling back
They're maybe not so good at a distance against light infantry, but against line units and particularly cavalry. They'll chew you up
Anyways on this flank, it's kind of the fight of Bunker Hill
you could say I'm charging up the up to the front and just engaging these guys eye to eye and
Against these pioneer militia
British units are actually pretty good at melee
So I'll be hopefully cleaning those guys off and I'm positioning these
Ferguson riflemen here to deal with his guys and I move these guys up almost a point-blank range right here
just to deal
shots right into these I
Hope there's no cavalry coming probably not because they invested so much in in artillery
But anyways, they're gonna be dealing death from point-blank into these units here
I do have some more of these pioneer Raiders Calvary are gonna be pushing up to this flank
Although they don't really know how to engage and here we go green light dragoons
So I kept these are one of my actually my only remaining
Calvary units so I deployed knock these guys out allowing my guys to reform and I'm gonna pull them back to the side and
He's gonna be counter charging with his own Calvary. However, these are regimental horse. Actually, they're pretty good
so I'm gonna be kind of scared for this engagement and pulling back to the crest of the hill and
Having my guys in a pretty big blob so that hopefully he can't cut through the entirety of my forces
I should have formed up in square. I just didn't have time
And he's pushing up with another group of forces right here regiment of horse backed up by long riflemen
I was able to basically destroy his units here and they are however deploy more of their guards with the
fire support of these guys
Looks like the engagement on this front is
Seeing the Americans push forward. However, we have seized the the force right there and now look at this
We have our well, maybe not so effective. But at least we have some of the howitzers. I believe in the back
Yeah, all firing on these American forces right here. So this approach is not gonna be very fruitful
So I guess that's what you get General's bodyguard leading the charge here actually scaring off these green jackets
So they're having a pretty effective attack through here
Detective force is not going as he had planned mostly because he got caught up on
I believe his own forces here. I know they decide to charge up the hill and engage with my own guys
However, I did eventually get them into square. So that's gonna be warding off his cavalry here
These guys are gonna pick them off
Over on this flank now that I have the hill advantage I can shoot over my own men
Multiple lines of fire against his troops. However, he does have a lot of these minute men and long riflemen
So I don't want to have too many guys up here
Considering he can fall back to the forest and he does have artillery support with these mortars
And they actually do have a ton of these guys howitzers as well. So a ton of guys
Oh, let's go ahead and watch some of these
Batteries firing here. So our cavalry that were in the force here are gonna be pushing up
They're gonna try and gauge with his artillery, I believe or try and support the fight here
But our own massive batteries on this front are just gonna be absolutely wrecking this approach of the infantry
And yeah, you can see we still have additional guys back here
Myself I'm gonna be pulling in the reserves to help push back that front and the puckle gun is still holding down this flank
I'm pulling back to the safety of the woods. However, what you'll see is me
Coming in with them some cavalry a little later to even that up over here. I have as I said the multiple lines of fire
Especially with these Ferguson riflemen these guys have really good accuracy and range so I'll be able to deal
Basically toe-to-toe with his own forces. He's moving up with his minute men, but that's fine
I have line infantry who can do a good amount of damage. However, he's moving up a lot
Basically the remainder of his force here
So I'm gonna pull back
Allow my Ferguson riflemen to do do what they do best and I'm gonna retreat to the top of this hill pretty soon
Here we go with my light your guns. They're gonna help even up this fight
So that's what I'm bringing them in to do and then I'm hoping to sweep down through here and knock out his buckle guns and
Various other forces. Here we go charging into his long riflemen
That's the ideal target for them and it looks like we're still having our mortars and rocket troops
Trying to attack these buckle guns, they don't have too much damage to them. Although that that one lime shot was pretty good
Dead on but what I would say is they should probably target some of the infantry. Those are better
Targets for them. Anyways, the Americans are moving up with more buckle guns not super effective
But they do a pretty good amount of damage for suppressing fire. I guess you could say
But yeah, my own cavalry landed that strike along riflemen soften them up then I retreated
You're gonna be more line infantry who haven't been really committed
So they're gonna be pulling up to the hill where I've essentially lost my men over here
I'm gonna be pulling back to the forest and moving my line infantry for double lines of fire against those guys
These troops are gonna move up to the hill
Hopefully soon to help support that fire and then my own light your guns are gonna be as I said before pulling down this hill
in the near future
Firing point-blank into the forest forcing those guys back line infantry are gonna get chewed out just because we have
More line infantry coming in but it's a noble charge from the Americans
Oh, it actually looks like they were able to crush this flank through here
But that's what I'm gonna deploy my reinforcements the yet uncommitted
Black watch and 33rd foot coming in here. Rangers are now going to be deploying to take out those guys
Let's go ahead and watch some of the volleys
Up on the hill. They were not expecting my black watch units here at all
So let's watch these guys get some shots off
so platoon fire
Taking its effect all the way down the line. So against his guards right here. Yeah, they have a pretty good place down in the woods
However, they're gonna be targeting my Rangers over here. I'm just me getting all sorts of fire on them
So yeah, they're getting picked off pretty well. I have the superiority in positioning. Yep. Okay, they killed one guy
But they are pressing the advantage here at least that's that's what can be said
But look they're falling back on our entrenched line right here with the pikes and it looks like they did lose
Calvary to a Calvary charge right through here. Probably not the best move
But the Americans should should at least be given credit for this honorable charge up the battlefield
especially in the face of all these
Artillery units that basically destroy them
Lifeguard and additional British cab are gonna come in here probably intercept this general
Let's go ahead and watch my side of the battlefield as well
So my line infantry that you saw up here basically got thrashed
I
Remind they did soak up a good amount of the the fire my Ferguson riflemen are gonna be left to finish up this fight
I'm finishing off his men, but over here is a problem where he is a lot of these
light infantry and long riflemen combined fire
They'll do a lot of damage to me. That's why I'm gonna be having my cavalry ready for a charge
Oh actually looks like I did it
So push through here with my Rangers charge right into his light infantry and I'm gonna go for these
The buckle gun, I believe
anyways
Well, it looks like we're getting finally some good shots off with our artillery right there straight into these buckle guns
So it'll be just a matter of luck before one of those is gonna come flying through here
I'd imagine but those guys are yep. There you go. They're gonna be eliminated soon
I said to counter charge into his general just eliminate this guy and I'm gonna get some more shots off in there
So I'm trying to collapse this front quickly. And then these guys are gonna be sent back to
Actually, I'd
Okay. Yeah, I'm pulling them through here
I don't want to get too many shots from his long riflemen
So they're gonna be moving through here hoping to help out take out his buckle guns
And here go deploying my line infantry
They can shoot as I said over their heads because I have the hill advantage
This flank is gonna be pulling back. He was just coming in just more infantry out of the woodwork
That's the advantage of the Americans that have a lot of these crazy cheap militia infantry in the lake
However, when it comes down to a charge like this, I should have the advantage. So here we go right into his men
I have 83 men. He's
95 so we'll see how that fight goes. But at least it does tie down his men. I have more supporting fire
my
Where'd my cavalry go? Oh
I think they may have died
Either that or I pulled him back. Oh
No, I pulled him back. Okay. Thank God. Here we go. Here are my elite troops
York Blackwatch and
32nd foot or okay, they're 33rd foot is deployed down here
These guys are gonna come and help even up this fight
Basically what I'm gonna be doing is an all-out charge down the hill at this point on so it's gonna be pretty epic
And it's gonna be led by these guys once they get into the fight and especially my light dragoons are gonna help even up that
fight as well
The Americans are gonna be pulling back. He realizes what's going on on his front so you can see more her reinforcements
Just streaming in and up their constant fire of artillery is doing a lot. However, these 24-pound guys
Probably the worst deployment you could do there. They're just shooting through the forest through a hill almost they're getting no shots off
so they're a bit too hasty with the deployment of their artillery, but
Yeah, they're crushing my guys to charge up through the front all they're gonna be counter charging up sort of this valley
You could call it. I'm getting ready for an all-out assault. Let's go ahead and watch the American push through the center
So they tried to attack this line, however, yeah this line infantry formation with the backing of
All these artillery troops and he still has light dragoons in case they broke there
So that's gonna be the end of the American charge through here
We completely crushed this front. So oh
my
That's scary, but it does no damage
Anyways, we're gonna be reforming this front and we're gonna be pushing up through this valley taking out those guys back here
It looks like actually the cavalry that the British had hidden on this front
Attacking his rockets. That's gonna be the end of those and then they're gonna be able to push through here
And it looks like they already have done that with the heavy cavalry just breaking through the American rear lines
Causing a panic through the back
And over here, you're gonna see my charge down the hill. So it's like the Americans are gonna decide to counter charge up here
Maybe they're out of ammo supporting fire from the long riflemen to chip away at my guys
I think he's anticipating that I just don't have enough men to hold against this pressure
But what he doesn't anticipate is the the awesomeness of the British elite infantry
So these guys are me reforming here. I was pretty much out of ammo
So I meet counter charging and the presence of my black watch
Their morale effects and also their suppressing fire is just gonna crack these forces here
So it's gonna allow me to hold this valley over on this front. I'm
Holding them back with just one
Unit of line infantry, although I'm losing a lot of men quickly
Line infantry here gonna be continuing to fire and then I'm pushing up this flank with my 33rd foot again an elite unit and then
My militia to tank the fire
But yeah, it's only a matter of time
My green jackets are also gonna be redeploying but like I was saying it's only a matter of time
these forces are finishing off the Americans here and
It's gonna allow us to retarget our artillery to this front
And then also the cavalry are gonna be finishing off the well, I guess they left some line and late infantry here
But yeah, they're gonna be finishing off those forces and coming in to finish our encircling pincer movement and
Here you can see the Americans are becoming a little bit desperate
The militia have been brought into the fight
However, these guys are not sturdy and even their rates of fire is not gonna be good
Especially with him firing into the backs of his men
I'm gonna charge in with the black watch. This is a very good attack and defense stats
So that's gonna be enough to crush through these very tired United States troops and my own black watch
Yeah, they're tired, but they're they're pretty late and I think I do have some
Okay. Well, I guess they're all tired, but I was hoping they were better
Anyways, the general is gonna come in for a noble charge in through here
We're just gonna go ahead and I believe square up this point. Yep
So he decides to cancel that attack, maybe not the best move because he's gonna get shot regardless
But I'm gonna continue with this all-out attack
Even sending in my Ferguson riflemen into here. They're not really firing these guys back here. They're out of ammo
His general is positioned here. So I'm kind of like, okay
I'll take it. So I reposition these guys. They're gonna go back into line and they're gonna shoot as general right here
The Americans are starting to crumble. It's kind of like that scene in the Patriot where the American forces are gonna retreat
However, they don't have Mel Gibson to rally them. So here we go
I mean you're forcing them to retreat and it's gonna be an all-out charge down the hill. I don't care
I'm just gonna be fixed bayonets push on all fronts
Continue to move forward with my 33rd foot and you can see the Americans are
Panicking at the site. So he's gonna try and reform and he doesn't have much further to fall back. Basically. This is it
This is his artillery line and his own stakes
So that's all he can fall back on the pressure is on at this point
I'm pouring in all my infantry and you can see the militia
They're not gonna hold together very well 90 that's gonna start plummeting 88
87 so they're gonna keep collapsing and with the nearby
His friendly units routing. Yeah, they're gonna collapse pretty soon
So that's gonna be excellent for me pushing up on this front. Just as I said committing all my guys
more of these alleged elite troops
Kings were a regiment of New York pouring in
So that's gonna be keeping the pressure on you can see just as I said cracking
And I think it has something to do with the additional artillery support that we're getting in through here
so looks like this is gonna be the
Terrible collapse of the Continental Army at this point
They are trying to get some lash their last death throws against these guys shooting in all directions with these mortars. However, we do have the
British cavalry coming in through here
actually, those mortars are doing a decent amount of damage against these forces and
Yep, looks like they want to just all-out kill these cavalry before they deal with my infantry
Maybe not the best move, but I guess against Rangers. He should probably turn and fight
That's gonna allow my guys to just come in theory through here
Clean up these mortar batteries finally, so we'll watch some of these pretty cool kills right here
Should be stabbing these guys to death. Hopefully soon if they don't oh, there you go. This captain nice. I guarantee he's gonna die
No, no, looks like he's gonna choose the coward his way
I was hoping the the Bannerman was gonna knock him out
But that looks like he's gonna get away. But as for the rest of the American forces, yeah
Same can't really be said there. Uh, they're losing
So if you guys enjoy this battle, very very cool
Very epic disappointed about the rain, but the battle itself came out very very cool
And yeah, I was kind of disappointed that it came down to the artillery. But oh, well, it's pretty cool
Wow, some of my allies this is probably the the guy in the center
65 losses for
338 killed but you can see yeah
these guys got no kills just because they were fixated on bringing the artillery and my infantry advantage definitely I
did a lot and I lost a lot of men, but I killed a ton and
Let's take a look at some of the kills for my men 150 182 for 89 for Ferguson rifleman. Let your guns did
Okay. Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed see you next time. I'll definitely be bringing more Empire battles
These are these are totally fun. So let me know what kind of theme battles you like see in the future. See you next time
