Nothing seemed to flow those days for me in Honduras. But not to worry – you gotta work with what you have and make the best of it! In this episode, I reached San Pedro Sula so I could organise myself a little and hopefully complete my mission: a desperate search for gas for my stove and Chillie's favourite engine oil. Honestly, my heart still melts when I think about how this episode ends. Join me for the ups and downs of city logistics and a moment that made the struggle worthwhile.

Good morning I must say my fatigue levels are very high these days I'm pushing through for like
one month straight because I have still three weeks to get to Costa Rica so I am a little bit
in rush but that's okay we can do this today it's a very exciting day because today we're gonna go
first to Copen ruins which is Mayan ancient city here in Honduras and this is a must-see in this
country so let's start with that and then you'll see
Basically now I'm on the same road as I was doing yesterday in my previous episode and then you
remember at the end of the day I couldn't get to Copen ruins because the street was blocked
there was some kind of strike but the ruins itself they are just before the town so even if
the block is still there we'll be able to see the ruins but we won't be able to see the town
well looks like this road is still blocked oh that was a nice way of sleeping
oh yeah and I think the reason why you have so many tracks here is because past this town there
is a border crossing so all these trucks meant to go to Guatemala we're very close to Guatemala
yeah we're like a few kilometers still before town and this is the truck as well
as you can see no cars just trucks well what is this why is he like that look
actually it's not just one truck there's like so many of trucks standing sideways
right I guess there are we're not gonna get to Copen ruins we better turn around
what else oh chili something is on last few days everything is not going according to my
puri plant plan we came all the way to this part of the country for nothing because that was the
highlight anyhow yesterday's ride was awesome so I don't regret it right well well well well
what's now so now it's time for San Pedro Sula which is one of the biggest towns in
in Honduras it's close to the coast and I just need to get some big city supplies
go to the camping shop and buy a few items and just just stuff I need to organize myself
and I need to work and I need to find a hotel with a fast wi-fi because I need to upload
so much footage to the cloud so uh yeah we need to do some work and have a hot shower that would be
I will never take hot showers for granted I must say in Central America you hardly ever have hot
showers in the hotels it is what it is right let's go to the big story the traffic the heat
33 degrees we're getting closer to the big city clearly the traffic is hectic
welcome to San Pedro Sula yep we're in the big city now first stop a hardware shop fingers
crossed maybe we'll get a gas bottle for my stove this is a modern city I've got a good feeling
I think we're gonna get a gas bottle here okay this is our shop
agencia global
here we go so what we have here we have oh screw
oh I prefer that one because then we don't need to have the extension
okay and then this one is the one with an extension I think
all right I'll take two to test them I think both should fit my start and the extension I got in
Guatemala bargain six bucks for two so one will push in well and now we're looking for accommodation
meanwhile we're in the traffic I have this hotel that looks very promising not too far from here
so let's see if they have any rooms because I have no reservation this is the way I roll
no luck here but around the corner where are you in 400 meters turn left onto three
but around the corner we have another one nope ain't happening the rooms here are for like
nearly 100 bucks it's not worth it because around the corner we can find something for 45
sorry yep keep going Julie
gracias all right third time lucky
fingers crossed I'm over it pull I said pull no rooms
all right well enough of winging it I saw there is availability in this one
oh god I thought we'll never be able to find a room for us Julie for today this stands out
not a hotel it's a casa it's a house he didn't really open this is all properly for us did he
I got this room for 45 bucks it's actually someone's house but you know what it means
it means if this is someone's house there will be hot water in the shower
I'm looking forward to that two days later I'm good to go actually I stayed here for two
nights and I worked all day yesterday on my videos but I'm good to go today today we're
going to the coast and you know what I've noticed in Honduras there's really not many campgrounds
around here in the country I'm planning to go to the coast now and I didn't see
any established campgrounds on Google Maps or Ioverlander but maybe possibly we'll be
able to camp at the back of the restaurant we'll work it out Julie as always right?
All right let's go adios right before we leave San Pedro
I have to go to the bike shop to buy engine oil for Julie so Julie likes particular oil
these days because I have a problem with a gear shifter which I will replace in Costa Rica
but until then we have to make it work and Julie prefers Motul oil
on Motul oil she shifts well any other oil she's like no I'm not doing it she's just like stuck
in third gear and doesn't want to go to second and I've been putting up with that for like
30 000 kilometers now but if we get the right oil it's not too annoying not as bad
I've already done research and I know where to go to get that particular oil
because Julie deserves the best
My GPS took me into the wrong location
I think I'm just gonna have to go around because the majority of the streets here
this town I've noticed one way right oh oh I like this look at this looks a bit communist
nice concrete job uh no no no I can't turn here it's one way oh this is difficult
maybe here yeah that's our street
not ours everyone's waiting okay
that is so sweet these guys gave me two bottles of oil for free that's unreal
oh look at this service and I get
and I get a chain loop my chain unbelievable
that is this is insane she got two bottles of oil for free
unbelievable we're gonna top up a little bit because we were running a lot before
and I got a chain look
so I got two liters of oil and a chain loop
just like that by walking into the shop that was so nice of them
what can I say Motul is my favorite brand now Julie likes it too
I also get this Motul the way to go
I can't believe this
oh people here are so kind Julie look at you you got oil for free a chain loop for free
oh my god you're such a star right where are we going all right fine where are you
here we don't have far today to travel around 100km to this possibly camp spot for me for tonight
so shall we?
