I’m inviting you into two of the most nostalgic, elegant, and heart-warming spaces in my home this holiday season: a Ralph Lauren–inspired Christmas kitchen and a Little Women–themed Christmas dining room.

If you are new to my channel and you've never been around for any of my Christmas decorate videos,
you are in for a treat because I truly go all out in every room of my house and I do something
different every room and every single year. I've never done the same thing twice. So this year I
have some different themes in my mind that I want to try and pull off. So in the dining room here
where I'm at right now, it's going to be a lot of reds, still very old world. Yeah, I'm just
picturing reds. The walls are green, the ceilings are green, everything in here is green. So we are
gonna just punch it up with just gorgeous Christmas reds. So here is the big reveal for the main
statement here in the dining room. I've got two absolutely amazing red spruce slims by Balsam Hill.
They're both nine foot tall. I probably could have done seven and a half but I'm a go big or
go home kind of gal so he did the nine. But they're just beautiful. I have not fluffed them or anything
yet so let me just take you in and show you what they look like right out of the box. Now what I
liked about this particular tree style was all of the twiggy branches that you have to work with.
So if you love to hang a lot of ornaments or even tuck things, it doesn't have that density
where you're not going to see your decorations on it. So I always look for trees that have this
feature. The wispier twiggy branches that stick out at different lengths and that way I can really
play with decor and it's not going to get lost on the tree. Now even though they are more sparse
as far as that's concerned, you've got the nice trunk so the trunk isn't like an ugly plastic
look to it. It's got a more realistic look but it's all the real touch branches. And then I've
got the clear fairy lights on here. I don't have them plugged in yet but I think these are going
to be just amazing and I'm going to dress them up with tons of red. All red in here. Since this
room is green we're just going to do a red and green old world looking Christmas in here. I'm
so excited. I hope you keep watching to see how I transform these beautiful balsam hill trees.
So we're going to keep going. Balsam Hill sent a few more things that I'm excited to show you
that we're going to put up in my Christmas decor this year.
What I like about balsam hill trees is they don't really need that much fluffing.
They're kind of like ready to go almost when you get them out of the thing which
to me the fluffing is the absolute worst part so if I can avoid...
My biggest tip for using picks is to make sure you're spreading
them all out. Usually picks like this are going to be all individually wired so you can really
work with and manipulate them. So you want to spread them out so they're a lot fuller
and they're going to go a lot further in your tree. You also want to kind of almost bend them
up a little bit so that when you stick them in your tree you can see them better.
So I'm shaping the branches so that they kind of are cascading around the tree
and going in a diagonal all the way around and down. So we're just going to focus
all of our berries and our ornaments all in that cluster on a diagonal all around the tree.
So for a huge tree like this and you don't want to spend days and days decorating it
that's a good option to think about doing something like that.
All right we have those berry picks all done on the left tree. I'll probably tweak them a little
bit more but as you can see they're just kind of cascading down on an angle. All right we're
going to keep going and do this tree now. There's still tons more Christmas decorating to come in
this video so don't click away yet and do me a favor give this video a thumbs up for me. I always
appreciate your participation in that and if you are enjoying this type of content then I invite
you to explore my Christmas decorating playlists that I've created for you. I will have them
linked down below so that you can find just what you're looking for. I have here a whole
other tote full of red berries that we're going to incorporate into the tree and then once that
is complete we're going to move on to the mantle and add some more beautiful red berry touches to
that and then we're going to do a really beautiful old world old-fashioned looking centerpiece on my
table as well as dress up my baker's rack here in the dining room. We're layering all different
berries. I've got like four different berry picks here so we have all different textures
and colors of berries so it's going to create a lot of nice movement in the tree.
Are you supposed to be smiling or anything?
So be like right in the middle or up a little? I think right in the middle looks good.
Should I do a little screw or not? I just do a little tiny nail and tack it up inside
of the hole there. Yeah so that it's less obvious. Lower the bottom crab.
Okay so this garland is gorgeous and it went up as quick as I could ever have hoped for.
There's a battery pack in here that I'm going to get batteries for. I do wish I had a plug because
I have a plug right here and that would be perfect but I'll go grab batteries here in
a minute. What I think we can do is add some picks in through here to create a little bit more
fullness.
All right let me show you what I collected for my kitchen Christmas decor inspiration.
So in here I think I'm just going to embrace it and really go for a Ralph Lauren Christmas.
Now I already did that last year in my living room but it is trending this year so I'm going
to just go with it and do it in the kitchen this year. I've already pretty much got everything I
need for it plus some new things that I've recently thrifted that I will be showing you
here in just a minute. So let's go through everything that I've curated here. So I have
these equestrian prints. I've had these for a long time and I think what I'm going to do is
make these into magnets and put these up on my fridge. So I've got four of those.
I almost sold these. I have four of these in different sizes. I almost sold these in my little
shop and I'm glad I didn't because I want to use a lot of glass in here because I think the glass
is very reminiscent of a Ralph Lauren Christmas. So we're going to bring these out. Of course these
are all thrifted and you know I never see them anymore so maybe they are harder to come across
now. You'll have to let me know what your experience has been with these. We are going to use
these very traditional mugs and these were thrifted. They are vintage. So pretty. I have
four of these. Okay of course we are going to bring out the tartan plaids and this is perfect
because this tartan plaid in particular has a lot of deep blue in it and that's going to be
perfect in here because I still like to keep some of my blue and white stuff up. Although I do think
I might take some of my copper stuff away. I've had it up for so so long and I really want to
focus on the silvers and golds in here. So I've got a few bows that I made last year all ready to
go. Okay I have this cardinal print that I recently thrifted and I think this is going to be so
gorgeous above my stove. Let's hope. Oh yep it's going to hang perfect. So I'm excited for that.
This is just absolutely perfect. I have some twall curtains that I might put over my dishwasher. We
shall see. I wish I had some plaid but I don't but this might be a nicer complement to mixing
patterns here. So maybe that'll work out better. I have this gorgeous silver vintage little two-tier
tray that I thrifted last year and I think this is going to be so pretty in here with all the silvers
and the plaids. It's going to look so elegant. Very Ralph Lauren. So this is a new thrift store find
that I found just a couple maybe a few months ago now but it's a vintage silver tray and I
think it's gorgeous. I shined it up and I just could not love it more. So that's going to be
perfect in here and then the last item here that I've been holding on to for a while
is this silver plated urn that I got maybe last year with my mom antiquing and I'm going to shine
this up and we're going to put this tree in it. So hopefully I can just put that on my counter and
that will be the big showstopper here. So I'm hoping this cleans up easy because it is huge
but I got this for $15. Can you believe that? What a score. I love this thing so much. It's gorgeous.
Okay so I'm going to use this. I'm going to use this Reitz silver cream. It's what I used on that
silver tray and it worked really well. So it says to use it in an inconspicuous spot first. Oh yeah.
All right let's just start. Oh it's already looking better. Oh my, oh my goodness. This is
going to be amazing. I am so, there is just something so satisfying about polishing up
silver. Oh my goodness. Look at the difference. This is gorgeous. I still can't believe I bought
this for $15 honestly. My goodness it's absolutely gorgeous. This is so satisfying. I prefer doing
this over I think scrubbing copper or brass for sure because wow this difference that makes.
Well I don't think I've ever seen anything quite so beautiful. Look at how that shined up.
That is just absolutely stunning. I love this so much. I am definitely an all, all about the
silver shine kind of girl. I know a lot of people like to leave it tarnished but not me because
it is just like in its glory right now. There's just nothing more beautiful than
than that sparkle and shine. It's like a diamond. Anyway I've been thinking about using this piece
for almost a year now so I'm so excited that I finally get to pull it out and
share it with you all and transform it and restore it back to its glory.
All right so I've decided I'm going to do some surgery on this tree and remove some of the
wire brush branches. It's just too full for my liking. I have to be careful because there are
lights strung on this. I think if I were to just thin it out a little bit it's gonna look better.
It's just too bushy with all of these pieces on here. I just don't think it needs it.
All right so here's what we're gonna do. I got these wooden dowel rods painted with the gold
and I'm going to use these little cafe curtain rod brackets and they slide right in there like
that on either side and believe it or not but I'm just going to use command strips to hang these up
on my windows because I'm not sure how long I'm going to keep these up and I try not to drill
into our historic home's windows if I don't have to so I know that this is going to be lightweight
enough that this will hold up just fine and I can use these to get a feel for if there's something
if this is something that I want to keep or not and if it is something I want to have up permanently
then I will just go ahead and put some little screws in there but why not test it out first
before you make a permanent decision we are a cold December night snowflakes fall
wonderful magical it's that time when everybody smiles eyes are shining bright
I still remember how I used to feel look at us now walking around in the snow
we do it in a very Christmas way
soon there will be sleigh bells and Santa Claus it's the number one
most magical time of the year
mistletoe hanging everywhere waiting to declare that love is here in the air
we can stroll side by side all night I'll hold your hand so tight
and always remember the way that we feel look at us now
