My Husky graduated intermediate Dog Training 1 Classes today! Eleanor the husky puppy has finished her Dog Training Classes! Today we are going to show you all of the things she learned over her 6 weeks of classes! Can Huskies be Trained? I feel like we get asked this a lot. And Are Huskies hard to train? Yes and yes they can be! Training a husky, or really any dog, takes commitment and patience. But with those two things, some work, and some time, you can train any dog!
Guess what we're doing today?
Little Miss Eleanor here, just recently graduated from Intermediate One dog training.
You guys remember, I showed you the things she learned from her puppy training class.
Well, she has gone through her second round of dog training.
My husband was there to film her graduation day.
We filmed all the things she had to do to graduate from Intermediate dog training.
We are going to show you those clips right now.
While we talk about the things that she learned how to do.
Memphis, are you going to get in on this craziness?
Memphis says, no! I'm too old for that puppy stuff.
Alright! Let's get into it!
Look at the table!
Beautiful day!
Yeah!
The first command she has to do is the table and or place command.
We choose to do table instead of place.
Let's see if she can pull this off.
The next command Eleanor has to do is a distance stay.
This was not the duration stay. This was just a short distance stay.
Oh! Ok! Let me get you along then!
I told you, she's way smarter when the other dogs aren't around.
Yes! Pretty good!
This next command is a wait command.
Which is a little bit different than a stay.
This is something where if your dog is running at you and you want them to stop.
You can either use the command stop or wait.
They should pretty much come to a stop and be expecting the next command.
Wait!
There you go! Good!
Good!
Keep practicing that. She'll get it.
Don't tell her to wait when she follows you. Just tell her to wait.
Oh man!
That's it!
Good!
Perfect!
Seeing that from the profile, it's pretty good.
You're crazy!
This next one is down with distance and then up.
All of my Huskies had a really hard time with down in general.
Down with distance is even harder.
You'll see, I'm not able to get super far away from her before she does it.
She does manage to pull it off for graduation.
Right there though! A little bit more distance!
Got it!
I'm so close guys! I'm so close!
I already see huge improvements with this.
Sit!
Creeper!
Nope!
When she creeps, you creep too!
Stop!
Down!
As soon as Jessica moved her arm, she knew she wasn't supposed to come closer.
She's like, I can go down!
This next one is a duration stay.
This is the one where we want her to stay in one place
for a little bit longer before she moves.
Let's see if she can pull this off.
That one she can do!
Stay!
That's pretty good at that one!
That one I can do!
Down from a distance!
That and this!
Stay!
That's close!
Let's see! Keep practicing that!
She'll get the hang of it!
You can tell she already knows what it is!
Yep!
They can look at you, but they can't pick their foot up.
Right!
So close! So close!
The next one she's going to attempt is come when called.
Which is something super important you should be training to all of your dogs.
You know, it doesn't work every time.
Let's see if Eleanor can do a come when called.
Eleanor!
Come here!
Coming!
Yeah!
She's like, that one I can do pretty good!
The last two that she has to do to graduate is the heel with sit and eye contact.
And then, a heel with a closer sit.
We wanted her to be a little bit more parallel when she was sitting next to me for her heel.
Let's see if she can pull that off.
She did!
There we go!
That's it! Nice!
I did it!
And that's it!
That is Eleanor graduating her intermediate one dog classes.
Now, because it is summer time and as you guys know, especially if you watch us over at Snow Dogs Vlogs.
We do a lot of travel in the summer time.
We have paused her training till probably fall or early winter.
And all that means is, we're not...
Honey! You're crazy!
All that means is, we're not currently doing training with the trainer.
We're still of course, working on all of these things at home with her.
Because it's very important to do so.
My goodness! You're all crazy!
Memphis is like, maybe I'm going to come in and get on this craziness over here.
Alright you guys!
