Book Your Belize Experience with Charlie the Traveler: https://charliethetraveler.com/our-multiday-tours/belize/ After arriving in San Pedro, Belize the previous day, my first order of business was to head to one of the country’s most famous tourist destinations: the Blue Hole!
RUM CREAM COFFEE: I started my day with a jolt and a bit of a buzz at Midtown Coffee Bar, where I got a rum cream coffee. It was like a spiked Greek frappe!
FRY JACKS: Next, I headed over to The Fry Jack House to try a popular Belizean dish called fry jacks, which consist of a fried flatbread topped with various ingredients. You can get ones topped with chicken, sausage, egg, and bacon, but I went with a sweet one topped with homenade Nutella!
DARIO’S MEAT PIES: Here, I tried a delicious and gravy-rich meat pie that had a delicious and slightly spicy kick of heat!
CORNMEAL SANDWICH: I also tried a sandwich made from two cornmeal patties with meat and melted cheese in-between them.
BELIKIN STORE: At the Belikin Store, I tried a refreshing Belikin beer, the official beer of Belize!
THE BLUE HOLE: Finally, to end our morning, we hopped a flight on Tropic Air to the famous Blue Hole. It costs $291 USD and lasts for one hour. The Blue Hole is breathtaking from above. It’s no wonder is the most popular tourist attraction in Belize!

8.30 in the morning here in San Pedro, as you see. People are waking up, but we need coffee.
We heard that Midtown Coffee Bar has some of the best coffee.
They actually mix it with like some milk too. Do you want that? I might have something like that.
Best coffee in the island? That's what he says right there.
All right. They have Belizean breakfast. This place is awesome.
From Lebanon, my man's from Tripoli. I've been to Tripoli. It's in northern Lebanon.
What do you recommend coffee-wise? I usually like cold brew, but I don't see you have cold brew.
We have our special Irish cream. Let's do the Irish cream, bro.
Strong. Always strong.
That's the best, right? Mm-hmm. Except we can't wake up without the coffee. I know, right?
The vacation cream. It's like Bailey's, right? It's a local cream in Belize.
So we're gonna add the espresso. A little bit of water.
Wow. That's good. This is cream and rum mixed with coffee.
It tastes like a spiked Greek frappe. Super delicious.
8.30 in the morning and we're getting drunk. This is their menu. Traditional
Belizean breakfast. They got sandwiches, stuffed fried jack. I heard that's
really good for breakfast as well. We had that yesterday. I need my coffee to wake up.
Midtown Coffee Bar. Thank you guys so much. Lady. Thank you. My man Noor. Noor is awesome.
So friendly. They also have another coffee place next to their work. So if you guys are
by the airport, go to VIP Coffee. I think we're gonna get a fried jack now. All right, guys.
Thank you. Let's keep going. I'm hungry. I'm hungry. Right across the street from Midtown
Coffee Bar, we have the fried jack house. You guys know what fried jack is. It's a huge fried
dough and they stuff it with different things. For breakfast, from my understanding, they like
to add sweets. Here we go. Let's see. Belizean breakfast. They have classic fried jacks.
Hey, how are you doing? Good. So let me ask you. What's the fried jack that I have to try this
morning? Well, you could always try the chicken classic. That's what everyone gets. Chicken
classic. But for breakfast? Yeah. Yeah. You can get it on the side. And how about the sweet ones?
I guess I'm going Nutella. I'm going Nutella fried jack for breakfast.
It's in Belize. So five US dollars. Not a bad deal. I love it. Again,
open air restaurant. The windows aren't there. The breeze is coming through right here by the water.
Look at that guys. It's like a puri.
And it goes really fast. Oh yeah. Once the oil is hot, it's good to go.
This is a different type of fried jack. It's yesterday.
So the sweet ones are going to bake this? Yes, this size. And the big ones are the other ones.
Wow. It's like a bomb. Nate, you ready for that bomb? I'm ready. I'm ready. This is huge. Perfect
for the morning time. So she was saying the sweet ones are like this. They're like,
they're doughier. They're smaller. The other ones, the classics, they're huge like we had last night.
Fried dough. Oh look at that. Yeah, it's super doughy. Just pick it up like that.
Take it back to the fair. Elephant ears plus Nutella. It's like lava chocolate going down a
crusty dough sprinkled with sugar on top. One thing I didn't mention is that this Nutella was
not Nutella from Nutella. That was actually handmade, homemade hazelnut Nutella. And
everything here is made from scratch. So you get fresh ingredients, delicious food. And thank you
guys so much. We appreciate it. Thank you guys. So call me for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, right?
We're open from 7 to 2 o'clock. Perfect. Okay, so from here, I don't know where I'm going,
but I need to eat some more food. Okay. No, thank you. Thank you. Let's keep going.
Wait, I'm hungry. I'm hungry. Surprise, surprise. We have a vendor here selling
meat pies. Small pies. Dario's meat pies. Hello. How are you? Very good. Very good. So what do we
have? So they almost look like muffins that are baked with dough and inside we have meat. So this
is like a British influence. She's saying it's a little spicy. It's a little bit spicy. It's
gravy. Oh, that's good. This is not your ordinary meat pie.
So one dollar for this. One US dollar. That's one thing that you'll be blown away by here
in San Pedro is that you have small spots like this all over the place. You know, street food.
Very doughy. I love how the gravy just drips out of the meat. Nice spices. This is incredible.
It's too good. Okay. So next up, we're going to go find some Belizean breakfast. So huevos, beans.
Okay. Oh, we just did it. We just did it. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I think this is a nice hole in the
wall. We're going to take that one out over here for Belizean breakfast. Thank you. Thank you.
What a great town. Remember, you got to rent a golf cart. Me and they are walking this morning.
We wanted to walk the food now. Walk it off.
This is breakfast. We're like a lunch thing, right? I would say like an arepa.
The stuff, right? Similar. We got the corn flour. You open it up. Look at that. So there's cheese.
There's beans. You have chicken. And here we go.
All right. They have some hot sauce. Oh yeah. Which is this one? It's going to be spicy, huh?
You guys made my day. Let's go. If you're in Belize, you're going to find
frijoles. So black beans everywhere. This is habanero. So obviously it's spicy.
This is affordable on the go quick street food. Two US dollars, four Belizean dollars.
It's really good. We're going back to the hotel and then we're headed to the blue hole.
This place is under construction. So sorry for the noise. What I love about San Pedro is there's
something around every corner. There's an iguana sanctuary. There's a rum company. There's street
food and there's two airports. And now let's get to the airport and go see the blue hole. The
number one attraction in Belize. Okay. So it's 1020. We're supposed to be here by 1030. Latest
we have an 11 a.m. flight. These are going to be our boarding passes. We're going to be saying
stay inside.
So we have about 30 minutes before we board. The flight is only one hour. It costs 291
US dollars per person. You can also fly from here to Belize city if you want to instead of
taking a 90 minute vehicle ride. But I think that's the cooler experience. And you know,
we're just going to hang out here. There's a meat pie here. The guys sold out unfortunately.
Man, this is the Belkin beer store. Hey, how are you doing? Yeah. This is like the official
store for Belkin. You guys have draft right now? Yes. Because we're in the Belkin store,
we're going to go with the original. They also have stout. They have a light one.
But Belkin original is the best. Right in front of the airport.
I mean yours. Oh, that's refreshing. Oh my gosh. Super tasty traditional recipes. It's 1969.
This is the official beer of the country. You'll see it everywhere. You have a chance to try
also the stout. So you have everything just merchandise, right? I love this store guys.
Took a champagne bottle on steroids. Really, really cool glassware. They also have these.
And I think we have no more time. Let's go man. Let's go. Let's go. We're gonna miss the flight.
Just enough time to get a beer.
Let's go. Have you been on a small plane, Nate? I have, man. I've been on 1970s Chinese made
plane in Zimbabwe, man. Let's go. Oh, I'm ready. This is gonna be amazing.
Tropic air. Blue hole. Thank you. Thank you so much. Yes, sir. We can sit anywhere.
What's the best spot? Maybe we can sit on the back seat. I would say the back seat,
but the back seat is the best. Oh, we got this seat then. We're staying here in the back.
This is gonna be amazing. Yeah, I'm so excited for this. Let's go.
All right, folks. Good morning and welcome aboard. We're gonna be heading out to the blue hole,
but we'll stop over at Ecover to pick up a few more passengers.
Second caravan that you're boarding has four emergency exits, two in the front,
two in the rear cabin. The blue hole is 407 feet deep. You can go scuba diving down there. It's a
full day tour, but the best way to see the blue hole is by the sky. So it's a one hour tour,
$291. I think it's worth it. This is the number one attraction in Belize. Let's go. Are you pumped?
I'm ready, man. Yeah, I'm ready for this. Let's go. Ready soon.
Oh, wow. Look at that.
The bluest water I've seen, maybe four people. All right, folks. This is Ecover. We're just
gonna be on the ground for a few minutes and we're proceeding on to the blue hole.
I mean, it seems like an effective way to travel between the islands though.
Because that boat ride was about 90 minutes, whereas this was at five minutes. That's nice.
So we stopped to pick up more people, huh? Yeah. That's it.
Quick. And on the way back, same thing? Yeah.
There. Nice island hopping like this. Get your own private plane. You can do this yourself, man.
Next stop, blue hole, guys.
We had some food. We saw the blue hole. One hour tour. We're back in San Pedro. I love Belize.
This is incredible. I hope you guys enjoyed the video. If you did, thumbs up, comment below,
and I'll see you in the next one here in Belize. Belize it. Better Belize it.
