We're hitting our macros today.
Good call, it was worth it.
I'm 2 for 2 on the food crop.
2,300 reviews.
That's insane.
At 4.9, we gotta try it.
So this spot actually double zero.
It's actually inspired by Tokyo Pizza.
This overall plaza is really nice.
I like it.
Reminds me a lot about the 626.
Las Vegas has the meat supply on lock.
Pro tip, as you might do at home, is just a little bit of water.
Do you ever do the steaming?
You ever pour a little water on there?
On these ones, you're not supposed to do it.
What's up, everyone?
In this video, I'm taking a quick trip to Las Vegas
to show you some of the good eats that are off the strip.
Because we all know Vegas is basically overpriced.
The crew's got big energy, bigger appetites.
Richie Lee is here.
The food is hidden.
And the nightlife might leave some of us feeling groggy.
Let's see what good food is off the strip.
Hit that like button, and let's go.
My guy, my guy, my guy.
Man, happy to be in Vegas with the bros.
For magic, even though I'm not really in the clothing industry,
I feel like, no, that would be cool.
But anyways, good times are coming.
Shave your head, gang.
I might have to shave my head, too.
I got the clippers with me.
I got the clippers, man.
Come on.
No, seriously, I used to do the fade back in the day.
Guys, we're here at Mitiki Island BBQ and Grill.
All this beef comes from California.
So it's locally raised.
They started in LA, but they're probably from Hawaii.
But they started in LA, and now it's in LV.
Just going viral all over the internet.
$18 each.
Richie, hold on.
We got to break, just, how does the cost break down?
I don't know.
They got a supplier on the meat.
I don't know.
They got to be.
They're breaking even at best.
All right, guys.
Are you guys baking like a watery teriyaki sauce, basically?
You could throw this on like liquid.
All right, Rich.
You've been telling the legend of this spot.
So I want you to try it first, you know?
Yeah.
When I had it last time, I didn't quite have it
because I was feeling a little under the weather, you know?
Being in Vegas, you know, it's cold here.
Whatever.
So I didn't really get to try it, try it.
I had like one bite, and I just was not feeling it.
But this is my redemption right here, all right?
That's an interesting way.
You just dip the tip, all right.
Dip in the tip.
A little tip dip.
That nice char.
We're hitting our macros today.
I think we're hitting our macros.
Beyond our macros.
Whoa.
That was a good bite.
Whoa.
Bam, so much.
Oh, you have to.
I'm just going to start with the small guy.
This is a cow beef.
I'm going to go with the small guy.
Oh, my God.
You feel me, or you feel me?
I don't even know if I need the sauce.
Do I need the sauce?
You see how big they are.
Are you, are you, oh, oh.
Try that.
Wow.
All right, you got the fluffy white rice right here.
Guys, the tendon, everything, the fat is just falling.
I'm going to review them sous-vide soon, but let me just.
The char, the char is perfect.
Flame, dude, this is some of the best barbecue I've had.
When you said that, I was kind of like, oh, rich.
No.
He's spot on.
Spot on.
Good call.
It was worth it.
We're 12 minutes from the strip, South Jones Boulevard.
Not a bad trip.
Yeah, not bad at all.
You know what's really interesting?
They have one location here, literally St.
Plaza, another location.
Mack's Salad Misubi.
I've never seen this before.
Should I try to split it or bite it?
Let me.
Go right in.
Just go right in.
I'm going to bite it.
And I have the sauce ready.
Bro.
$4 for two.
It's crazy.
A little sriracha.
All right, let me try this short rib.
Guys, I think some of the best grilled beef I've had.
No, for real.
This is crazy.
For $18, this is a price.
Are we even going to finish this?
50 families.
Crazy.
These are dinosaur bones.
Literally dinosaur bones.
Hello?
Yo, what's up, man?
There's a lot of great restaurants in Vegas.
You can spend a lot of money.
They're going to be very nice, but once you feel like you didn't get enough to eat there,
take a little trip down to South Jones and come here,
and you're going to get your next three, four days worth of beef and protein right here.
A plate like this, $17.95.
Like, it doesn't get any better than that, man.
I don't know if the camera does it justice.
These are massive.
I mean the ribs.
On the strip.
If you are sitting on the strip eating this, almost 500.
Yes, yes, yes.
To get ribs this big, at least $40 a rib.
Yeah.
All right, guys.
For all this food, Rich gets the bill.
For everything?
For everything, Brandon.
What did you think?
$150?
$200.
Half that, guys.
It's crazy.
$100 for this?
$100 for all of this.
So guys, off-the-strip food, I think in Las Vegas, it's highly underrated,
and my theory is this.
Las Vegas has all these different chefs and people coming from around the world,
and there is some very, very nice high-end stuff,
but there might be people.
So the standard for food is very high,
but that also means that off-the-strip, when the costs go down,
when the rent goes down, and the economics make more sense,
you can actually provide a crazy value.
So I can't wait to hit up other spots around Las Vegas
and show you that you do not need to spend that much to eat crazy.
A little snack.
Post-snack.
Post-dinosaur rib snack.
So turon is a Filipino dessert that has jackfruit and bananas.
Oh, that's a toaster strudel, bro.
Oh, it's a Pop-Tart, bro.
Do you remember me eating Pop-Tarts growing up?
I loved Pop-Tarts.
You did.
I did. I did.
Especially the s'mores ones.
You turned into one.
I don't even know what that means anymore, bro.
Is that a little side comment?
I'm going to get you back for that.
Hold on.
Check out this turon one.
Okay, so it doesn't, you know, it doesn't look that delicious.
It looks like a plantain.
Hey, first of all, the Colombian girl at the counter,
she said she likes the turon better.
So the owners of Cafe 86 are Filipino.
Shout out to them.
They got food everywhere.
Smells like a sweet banana, caramelly.
Yeah.
Very sweet.
That's like a sweet jackfruit pie.
It's good.
I mean, I think maybe it could have had like a little jelly in there, but this is—
The frosting really helps, actually, because the inner is not that sweet.
It's a juicy, sweet flan that they just plopped onto an ube cupcake.
Man, I feel like this is one of those things that would taste better if you just take a bite of it,
but for the sake of Andrew, I'll just do a spoon.
Well, don't bite it, please.
I mean, you don't have to.
It's gooey.
I like, like, really gooey, like, type bread textures in it.
Flavor is really good.
Your instincts were right.
That's good.
I thought you were about to counter it with something.
No, no, it's really good.
But—
You don't need frosting because you got the flan.
I'm two for two on the food crawl, baby.
I'm ready to come home.
Have you been to these spots before?
Hold up.
All right, man.
All right, guys.
Like I said, off the strip, I think even in these little random strip malls,
you find really good food because their rent is lower,
and there's a lot of different types of people in Las Vegas,
so you get great diversity, but this is just what we started with, so—
Half the stuff on the strip is off-market, man.
It's for entertainment, okay, man?
Yes, you won't get the streamers and the big, tall things,
and then, you know, the flash here, but this is the real good food.
All right, so you know we had to kill some time before dinner and our outing tonight.
We thought about taking naps.
Yeah, I know, I know, I know.
Hit the gym, guys.
Get the metabolism, testosterone flowing.
Gym fits, white tee, beefy Hanes, little kids with the netting on the inside.
I'm good to go.
I ain't bring no gym clothes.
This is black tees, some track pants.
All right, all right, all right.
Yes!
The winner!
Gabe's got those tees.
This is why I don't just—
He just—Gabe just started just dancing.
Crazy.
I'll show you some squats, lunges.
All right, let's get this workout, boys.
All right, guys.
Our next spot is in this very inconspicuous plaza here, and I'm trying pho and beyond.
This is the most highly rated pho spot in all of Las Vegas.
Open till 2.
4.9 out of 5.
Open till 2 a.m.
How many reviews, too?
Not just—there's 2,000 reviews.
2,300 reviews.
That's insane.
At 4.9, we gotta try it and see if it's really that good.
Come on, let's get it.
I'm gonna try this tamarind wing.
Glaze on it is fired, still crispy.
Yeah, the flavor on it is amazing, actually.
Really, really fresh.
Almost kind of gives me like an orange peel vibe, like an orange chicken vibe.
Really good.
One thing I want to know about pho and beyond, so it's not the cheapest bowl of pho,
but they do give you huge portions of meat, so each of these were $28,
so that's definitely more expensive than your average bowl,
but it also does not look like your average bowl of pho.
Almost gives me pho challenge vibes.
Yeah.
I mean, this is like—look how gigantic this thing is, man.
And then, obviously, you have this huge lobster tail.
I washed my hands, so I'm just gonna crack that open for y'all.
Ooh, shoot.
Crack.
You know what else to kind of really—
What's that, lobster fried rice?
Yeah, this is a fried lobster tail.
I'll probably use a fork.
All right, guys, let's take a look at this.
Oh, oh, they deboned it for you.
Look at that.
That is crazy how much meat that is.
Let's try this oxtail.
All right, so the two bowls you guys got are they different?
Oxtail and short rib.
All right, guys, I'm gonna try the broth.
They are known for their broth here.
Really?
Yeah, let me try the broth.
Broth test, broth test.
Really beefy, light.
Very light.
I can taste the quality, though.
I like it, how it's not like—
I guess it's not overly flavored.
It's funny that you said beefy, because I was like, not beefy.
You think it's not beefy.
The oxtail is super tender here.
I think the meats here are super tender,
and I would say the broth is light,
but it feels very clean.
Yeah, it definitely feels clean.
And not as much like MSG and stuff like that, for sure.
I think it's a decent bowl of pho.
Tony, he's kind of sleeping, I'm not gonna lie,
It's definitely a more premium bowl of pho.
My thoughts on like Vegas Vietnamese food overall,
I think we got like a decent selection,
but I haven't like tried a spot that I really love yet,
compared to, you know, what I'm used to back East,
but solid selection.
Okay, all right.
I mean, this spot has like 4.9 out of 5,
so we had to come, and I feel like it's a nice spot.
It's really clean, and the broth is clean,
but yeah, maybe not the most like flavorful thing
I've ever had.
Let's try some of this real quick.
Fried lobster garlic fried rice.
This spot is very light on the flavors, actually.
The lobster is really good.
All right, everybody.
I gotta give you my honest opinion.
It's probably not warranted a 4.9 out of 5.
I thought the meat is the highlight.
The big pieces of meat are very tender.
You know, the short rib and the oxtail was good,
but I thought the broth could have had more flavor.
Yeah, I mean, price-wise, I guess
if you take that into consideration,
you know, I think there's probably better spots,
but I'm glad I tried it
because that was obviously the most highly rated spot.
It's open till 2 a.m.
I think they had the lobster tail was also very well done.
So overall, I think they do meats here really well.
All right, AB, you moved to Las Vegas from Philly.
What's our next spot?
We're at Double Zero right here,
a very popular spot in Chinatown.
Let's check it out.
Pizza, but not just any regular pizza.
All right, guys, this is made with zero, zero flour.
You know, that's the highest quality,
super refined pizza flour.
That's like the gold standard.
That's fresh, man.
Gotta do the pull, yo.
Yeah, and it has like, this one has,
so this spot actually, Double Zero,
it's actually inspired by the Tokyo pizza.
It's not opened by a Japanese person,
but they were on a trip eating pizza in Japan
and then they were like, yo, let me bring this back.
So, shoot.
You gotta do the pull.
You gotta do the pull, you gotta see.
I don't want to put peppers on it yet.
Yeah, and I don't want to add anything.
Oh, shoot, I dropped some of the chimichurri, no.
Dear goodness.
All right, let's go try Double Zero.
Is this maybe the best Neapolitan in Las Vegas?
Let's see.
Mmm.
Orange chimichurri is crazy.
What do you think?
That's like citrusy.
Yeah, I taste that too.
That's, I've never had pizza like this before, man.
Look at that crust, perfectly done.
Mmm.
If you're into pizza, this was only $25.
Off the strip, it's pretty good, man.
I don't even think this is the best flavor.
I've been here before.
The spicy one with the sausage is my favorite.
Yeah, I had to get this one, though,
because this one was the most interesting pizza.
All right, everybody, last but not least,
on our off-the-strip Las Vegas food crawl,
I'm here at the Chinatown Plaza on Spring Mountain Road.
You guys gotta come here.
They got the Erhu blasting.
But yeah, right across from the 99 Ranch,
we have 888 Korean BBQ,
and this is considered the cheapest
but best high-quality all-you-can-eat KBBQ
in this area, so we gotta check it out.
I wanna eat a Xiaolong dumpling, okay?
I'm enticed by that.
The Chinatown Mall, I'm actually gonna walk in there
and check it out.
Of course, they have this older 99 Ranch.
They still got all-you-can-eat sushi.
Las Vegas is still the land of all-you-can-eat buffets.
Across the way, you got 85 C Degree
Bakery of Seafood Boils.
You have the Xiaolongkan Hot Pot.
You have a lot of stuff here, man.
I would say this plaza, oh, and a Paris Becket.
You got everything here, man.
It reminds me a lot of the 626.
You got your Boba Shop.
These are obviously not,
this mall's kinda quiet right now.
This is probably not the top-tier mall.
Obviously, you have all these other chains
that are opening across the street
like Sevenly's, 85 C.
You know, how are these spots really supposed to compete?
All right, guys, here's the thing
about these kind of like shopping malls.
Basically, what's happening to this Chinatown Mall
is what's happening to all shopping malls across America
where it's kind of like an outdated way
of people shopping.
And here's the thing.
Shopping malls still kinda have a place,
but at the end of the day, it's harder to update
because this was built so many years ago,
so many decades ago,
and they haven't really been able to update the interior.
You know, it takes a lot.
Somebody's gotta come through with a lot of money
and revamp the whole thing.
So at the end of the day,
it's actually easier for all these new chains
across the street, premium chains,
to open up in just new build-outs.
So that's, you know, there's a bunch of landlord stuff
and everything like that,
but basically, things like this Chinatown Mall,
there's a lot of plazas like that
that are, I guess, older now and a little bit more outdated.
But anyways, this overall plaza is really nice.
I like it.
Reminds me a lot about the 626.
Has a really good charm here.
So I'm looking forward to coming back on more trips
and eating more in Las Vegas,
especially Spring Mountain Rogue.
All right, everybody, we're starting off the meal.
We got the prime, the $32 per person, all-you-can-eat.
We're starting off with bulgogi.
We got a little ribeye here.
It's not a huge piece,
but, you know, that's what we starting with.
Hanger steak and the LA Calbee.
This is the radish, I believe, for cleaning.
So when you want to clean the grill,
you rub this radish on it.
You get the salt and peppers.
I like how they give you the salt and pepper.
So I'm just going to take a pinch,
put it on my steak.
Pork belly sampler.
So what has happened is we got the bulgogi
and it's leaving all the residue.
So you got to clean it off.
That's why you got this little radish on a stick.
Because I got to make space for the pork belly.
Green.
Listen, I'll tell you this, in Las Vegas,
they like their meats, okay?
That is one thing on this food crawl
I have realized is that Las Vegas
has the meat supply on lock.
Oh, you got a little mala pork belly here, too,
with a little pepper.
Yeah, stick that in there, baby.
All right, the pork belly samplers.
Dip it.
They do great marinades here.
Guys, when you're cleaning the grills, you know,
and before they change out the grill for you,
you have this radish here,
but the pro tip, as you might do at home,
is just a little bit of water.
Yeah, let it steam, and then you can just scrape it off.
You don't want to put too much water
or it'll splatter on you, but...
And then you have this little chute here.
I like it. I like this efficient system.
It's a nice little system they got here.
I'm not used to this type of tray of, you know, heat pad,
but actually works pretty good.
It's a lot of meat.
This time we butter up the pan, baby.
I really like how interactive it is, man.
They even got you cleaning your own pan for them.
So, really, they don't need to clean it.
Maybe that's how to keep the prices low.
Yep.
Let's do the filet mignon in this garlic butter.
All right.
Hey, man, sometimes it happens, man.
Sometimes you drink,
and you don't think you drank that much,
but it's also carried over from the day before.
So I feel like sometimes it compounds.
This is the aftermath?
This is the aftermath.
You know, and all I will say was this.
Obviously, drink responsibly.
Get your electrolytes in.
Get a little food in, right?
Food is key.
We ate really well.
He's got three different drinks over here, though.
He's trying.
He's got the green tea.
He got the Powerade.
He tried the Sprite.
Had some kimchi.
It's just nothing is adding up.
Richie was just ordering, what's the other drink?
Something that was just going to give him that spark,
and it just hasn't happened yet.
Yeah, make sure you get your electrolytes in,
any sort of supplements in before you drink.
A little bit of food.
Richie didn't eat as much as us, so.
All plate factors, key factors.
Guys, it's a perfect storm of elements.
So I was cleaning the grill earlier.
See, I didn't use the chopsticks.
I didn't know we could do this.
I didn't know that I could use up a pair of chopsticks
just to clean the grill.
So already off the bat, a little different.
But it does make sense.
You got to scrape it.
Do you ever do the steaming?
You ever pour a little water on there?
On these ones, you're not supposed to do it.
Not on this one.
Did you do that?
Yeah, why would you do that?
That's so...
Did you do that earlier?
Is that why it looks like that?
No.
I was just asking because, like,
some people do that at home sometimes, but...
I would never do that.
I'm like, I'm way too experienced to ever
just throw water on, like, a grill like that.
Why should you not?
What happens?
It worsens the grill.
It worsens?
Yeah, like the quality of it.
It makes the experience worse.
Yeah.
Don't put water on the grill, guys.
All right, our next spot is a low-key,
but highly rated Mediterranean spot on Blue Diamond
in Southwest Vegas.
I'm here with AB.
Lead the way.
Let's go.
All right, everybody.
That was it.
I know that I wasn't able to hit up everywhere that I wanted.
I mean, there is really great food off the strip
that you can get at a great value,
but you do have to drive a little ways out there
to get it sometimes.
And overall, once you factor in the Uber and stuff,
it's actually still overall worth it.
It was really cool.
I also got to check out the EOS gym with my friend AB
over in the suburbs.
And that's definitely one of the nicer gyms
I've been to in a while.
It was just nice to not spend my entire trip on the Boulevard,
you know?
I don't know.
Maybe I'm growing up.
Anyways, hit that like button.
Check out more.
And until next time, I'm out.
Peace.
