When Cops Are Really Friendly and Try to Help!
If you don't follow a lawful order, serious things can happen. The next arrest happens
because someone was driving really fast. On April 17, 2021, in Campbell, Wisconsin,
a police officer was doing regular speed checks when a car zoomed past.
The driver turned out to be Amy Torres, a 36-year-old. Because she was driving way too fast,
the officer decided to chase her. And that's when things got weird.
Okay, but when I press on you, you're going east. Where are you coming from?
Where are you coming from?
Minnesota? Okay. I'll tell you the car will be back with you in a couple minutes, okay?
This is her. Yeah, she admit to it? Got her at 137, pulling away from me.
Holy crap, were you sitting here? Yeah, I was sitting there. Got her at 119,
coming over the bridge, slowed down to 100. I pulled out, she hammered on it,
you know, weave in and out. Got up to 137, same lane, and then shot off the two. I didn't see her
shoot off until I was under there, and I saw her up on the off-ramp. She went north on Dawson.
I went past, turned around, came back, and I saw a white car get on, heading west. I wasn't going
to catch up. She was pulled over here before I turned my lights on. But she's crying. She's got
an open Michelob can of beer in the cup holder. The officer passes on what the suspect told him
to another officer who is arriving at the scene. It's clear that the officer has doubts about the
information. What did she say to you? So she told me she was coming from Austin, Minnesota and
heading to somewhere in North Dakota. Fargo. Fargo, yeah. Fargo, okay. And that the reason she
left is because she felt something was going on there. She wouldn't really elaborate as to what
she thought was going on. I said, do you know where you're at right now? And she's like, well,
clearly the Mississippi. I said, okay, we're on the border of Wisconsin, Minnesota. She was, holy,
really? So doesn't really know she's over here. She said she didn't see you behind you.
I don't know how you wouldn't, but yeah. She's like, just ******* take me to jail. I said,
what were you taking to jail for? Speeding and almost hitting cars. I said, how much did you
drink? She says, nothing. You can give me your breathalyzer. That's from last night. She told
me that too. I could smell it in there, but I don't know. It smells of alcohol in there. Yeah.
So I don't know. Something just is weird with it. Yeah. She's got a receipt for days in in
Austin on the passenger seat or like an invoice or whatever the hell it is. Do you feel it's a
rental car or what is it? She's got purchase paperwork. So I think she was a rental car and
she bought it. The officer decided to do some tests after noticing things
and talking briefly with Amy. When he approached her car, it's pretty expected.
Do as best as you can. Imagine a straight line. So when I tell you to start, you're going to take
a series of nine. One, two, three, going down to nine. Okay.
Even though Amy is in a tough spot, she keeps a positive relationship with the officers
as they keep investigating. How's your day going? I brought you over to Austin.
What's that? Chilling. All right. This here's a breathalyzer. Okay. So let's make sure it's
not coming here. All you do is take a long, deep breath and blow in long, steady. Okay.
Blow, blow. You're not even blowing. Get a blow. Blow, blow, blow, blow, blow. There you go.
You can stop. All zeros. When's the last time you used any narcotics do you think?
I'm going to just come back here a little bit. You need your first air for now.
You know about it? Yeah. You said, I said, so why'd you head eastbound,
get off, and then come back westbound? Because the officer pulled out and turned his lights on,
and said, so you just kept driving. Yeah. Like, so then why'd you pull over,
or why would you go back westbound? She said to get away from the officer.
How was that? She said she ran out of gas. That's why she stopped there.
That's unlucky. Yeah. I suppose. I just quit. I think I ran out of gas.
Suppose when you're going over a hundred, it burns it up pretty fast. Yeah.
Yeah. She didn't know she was in Wisconsin.
So if you want, you can go looting. Yeah. She's got some para. Yeah, a couple hundred bucks
so far. Hot pipe, and a grinder, and some weed in it.
Who does this belong to? My friend. That's India? Why do you have it? I don't have it. That's her
stuff. Okay. I thought they were acting weird, so I left them. They didn't want to tell me,
and I left them. Acting weird at all? I don't know. Laughing. Smiling. Looking at each other.
The trooper said your car quit. You think you're out of gas, maybe?
Do you want us to call a tow truck for you? No. What's your plan on getting your car out of here?
Obviously, it's not in a very safe spot to stay there for very long.
Two zeros on PBT. If anything, it's going to be narcotics.
Hey, it's Ciz with Campbell.
That's okay. So, I've got an arrest. It's a felony fleeing and looting. A girl from North Dakota.
You can take her on that. The only reason she stopped is she ran out of gas. Yeah.
Right. 137 miles per hour is the speed I got it. Goofy, we did fields. I don't think she's drunk,
but there's an open beer in the car. We PBTed her two zeros, but
I don't know. Her story is really, really strange.
Thank you. Amy, can I have you step out here for me? Can you put your hands behind your back for
me? You'll be placed under arrest for fleeing an officer, okay? Understand what that means? Yeah.
Okay. Do you want us to grab anything out of your car that you need to take with you? Your
purse or a phone or something? Okay. A purse. Is that the little black one? Do you have any
pockets in here? Nothing in your waistband or anything like that? Okay. Nothing hidden
under your clothing or in your body anywhere? You can just lean back. I'm going to stick your seat
belt on here. Like I said, just your black purse. Do you have a phone or something in there for
when you get out and call somebody? You don't want it? You don't want it? Okay.
Amy got taken to the nearby jail. She's in trouble for trying to run away from a cop
and for having illegal stuff with her. Court documents show that back in January 2022,
Amy admitted she did wrong in resisting arrest and not stopping when told to by the police.
Some other charges against her got dropped, and she made a deal to get help instead of going to
jail, and she finished that. That's all for today. Thanks for watching.
