Hello. Good evening. You know, I honestly don't even know where I am. A very empty office floor.
I've been filming for a minute right over there, but to be honest, I want a little bit of a walk.
So we're going to have a walk and talk. And what I want to walk and talk about is a shift I'm making
personally this year and have been making for the past few months in terms of what I'm investing in
and where I am personally allocating my money. And this ties into a previous video I just made
about basically how AI should impact the way in which you go about your finances,
your personal finances, your investments in your career right now. So you may not make the exact
same set of decisions as me, right? We're all in our own situation, but I think you will find this
very relevant if you are thinking about things like how to invest, how to diversify from the
very mainstream asset classes, and also how to hedge against AI. I also just want to keep you
in the loop about what I'm doing with my money because, you know, they say you got to put your
money where your mouth is. And so if I'm not talking about what I'm doing at all, then I'm
not being very honest about that personally. Now, the big investment shift number one is...
Now guys, a quick note before we continue. If you work with AI or data currently at any capacity,
you probably know how important it is to access clean geospecific data at scale. Whether that's
or pulling training data for a model, you need reliable proxies. And the one I would recommend
is Data Impulse. So Data Impulse gives you access to over 90 million premium residential IPs across
195 locations. So if you need to see what Google results look like in Germany or pull e-commerce
data from a marketplace in Japan, it's like I'm browsing as a real user from that location without
getting flagged or blocked. And what I really love about Data Impulse is the pricing model. It
is pay as you go. So one dollar for one gigabyte of residential proxy traffic. That means no
subscription, no expiring credits. You just pay as you go. You buy what you need. You use it when
you need it. And that is the end of the story. And if you're running bigger jobs, the pricing
gets even better than that with volume. And they support both HTTP and SOCKS 5. You get rotating
and sticky sessions which you can set up to 120 minutes. And the response time is about
one second. And if you ever run into any problems, their support are actual humans,
not chatbots. I love AI, but personally, I do like to talk to an actual human for support.
So if you ever need proxies for anything scraping, research, testing, or data related,
then go give Data Impulse a spin. The link is in the description or on the screen right now.
And again, you can try it out at basically no cost with that pay as you go one dollar per
gigabyte of premium residential proxy traffic. You won't regret it. That link is on the screen
or in the description. And that said, let's get back to the video personally.
Now, the big investment shift number one is into private markets versus public. Part of this is
just honestly, the public markets are getting so crazy across the board that if you want to get a
little less volatile, while it sounds crazy, later stage private investments are actually a pretty
good bet in terms of volatility. Are they at all remotely considered to be safe? No,
these are highly risky investments. And I still allocate a large portion of investments, period,
things like selling options, things like just your ETFs, your indexes, your basic blue chip stocks
as a whole. But private markets actually give you a little bit of an edge over retail,
over all the bots that are trading all the stocks. And I think honestly, there are so many
bets that hedge against AI, so many companies that were founded with this, what will survive
AI in 10, 20 years? And that's what I made a video about very recently, who are not public,
right? Because these are companies who were founded in the last five, 10 years, if that.
We had very few companies going public for a few years there. The IPO markets are really only
starting to recover. And so what that means to me is if you want to get into some of the companies
that are really defensive against AI, there are amazing opportunities on the public markets and a
lot of great companies with that in mind. But there's also a lot of opportunities at great
valuations on the private markets. And there's ways for retail to get into that now with things
like the Robinhood Ventures Fund that was very recently launched just a few days ago. And that
lets you, as a retail investor, get in on a lot of just those types of companies, things like
Databricks and Stripe. So that's number one. The number two is currency in emerging markets. So
that's a kind of two-in-one, but kind of related. Number one in terms of currencies, I think that's
just generally a good hedge at a certain point, so to hold assets in various currencies. What
you're basically doing there is just hedging out the risk of a certain currency getting
much stronger or much weaker, which is a pretty good bet at this point across the board. Now,
has a lot of that been priced in in terms of how people feel about the US dollar? Absolutely,
yes. But in terms of, again, hedging against currency movements, regardless, if you hold
both sides of the market, you're pretty much good to go. And then as a second tie-in there,
I'm not super bullish on emerging markets as a whole, as in all emerging markets. But I do like
the framing of what's the next China, the next USA that has the potential to lead the world in
a lot of ways and will benefit from AI diffusion because they have the economies of scale,
the regulatory stability, et cetera, to actually capitalize upon said diffusion.
And so the play there in addition to holding maybe the currencies of some of those countries
is just to buy straight into the S&P 500 or something, some index equivalent of the S&P,
the QQQ in those countries and markets. Am I still bullish on the US versus any other country? Yes.
And if you want to know why, that's a subject for another video. But pretty much the whole world is
overexposed to American economic performance, much less Americans themselves. And the third
smaller investment shift here for a while now has been metals that has not been gold and silver,
but other ones that have long commercial industrial applications. You've heard me talk
about these and several companies of this sort in a few videos now. I've also made a lot of videos
about copper, a lot of shorts. But this ties into what we talked about in the last video as well
with what is a or goes in the post AGI asset class. What is the hedge there? Well, you still
always need physical materials to build anything and everything. Now, I don't need to spiel upon
that because if you at all live in that world, you've heard about all of this. Those metals have
done incredibly well for a while now. And so I'm not saying anything you don't know. And of course,
that doesn't mean you should go and buy some assets that have run up a thousand percent.
But I am pretty happy over the last year of having shifted a little bit into metals. But
of course, the fundamentals remain invest in awesome companies, awesome people and invest for
the long term. That in mind, those are the shifts I'm making. Curious to hear what you think. Maybe
the shifts you're making in yours. And also starting to think more about that enduring
question of what survives A.I. and what benefit from A.I. continuing to improve at an ever
increasing or so it feels like. That in mind, these are very slighty chairs. This is the city
behind me. Somewhere here, a Chipotle is calling my name. I'm going to get to that. I appreciate
you being here and I'll see you in the next one. Cheers.
