And few houses do it better than Charles Heidsieck.
The Brut Réserve is one of the most respected non-vintage Champagnes on the market, known for its depth, richness, and complexity. What sets it apart is the use of an extraordinary amount of reserve wine.
We’re talking about 40 percent reserve wines, many of which are over 10 years old.
That’s a big deal.
Because those older wines bring layers of brioche, toast, and richness that most non-vintage Champagnes simply don’t have.
The blend is built from Grand Cru Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, along with Pinot Meunier, and the wine spends around five years aging on the lees, further developing texture and complexity.
The result is Champagne that drinks far above its category.
Fresh citrus and orchard fruit meet deeper notes of brioche, pastry, and subtle richness, all wrapped in a seamless, polished texture.
This is the kind of Champagne that often gets compared to much more expensive bottles.
The retail price is around $90.
Today, it’s $44.98.
That’s half price for one of the most compelling non-vintage Champagnes on the market.
What do we call this? Let's call this Champagne Charlie Part Deux, right? Some of you recall a
few months back we did an amazing deal and video on a wonderful price on the Champagne Charles
Heitzik, one of our favorite non-vintage brute styles of champagne in the market.
There was a special little element to that story based on the fact that
Charles Heitzik makes the straight cuvee and then they made like a special edition cuvee just for
restaurants where the dosage was lower and some stuff was different. So they basically, we sold
that out in a day. You guys bought all that like in a day. Bam! Gone! And we didn't see anything
after that. They didn't have any more. That was it. Well, last week they come to us like, hey,
you want to do the Charlie deal again? And we said, yeah, that's great, you know, with the special
edition one. They're like, no, no, with the regular Charles Heitzik Brute Reserve. And we're like,
well, hell yeah, because that's the one we're going to do the deal on in the first place anyway.
So long story short, here we go. The original, what should have been the original deal on the
Charles Heitzik Brute Reserve is coming to you today. So same deal, same price, same everything,
but slightly different wine. All right. So let's talk about this. Basically the base wines are kind
of the same, except they futz with the reserve wines, huh? In this case, what Charles Heitzik
is known for is the insane amount of reserve wine in their cuvées. So basically we're talking about
40%, 40% reserve wine in these cuvées and these non-vintage cuvées. With most of the lots being
at least 10 years old, those reserve wines being at least a decade old. Same scenario here. They're
sourcing mostly Grand Cru. So 40% of this wine is Chardonnay from Ogier. 40% of this wine is
Grand Cru Pinot Noir from Ambonnay. Am I going to get that wrong? And then the balance is 20%
Pinot Meunier. So 80% of this wine is Grand Cru. This wine was cellared down in 2020 and in
this gorge in 2025. Five years entourage, 80% Grand Cru, 40% reserve wines, at least a decade old.
I mean, the value just stacks and stacks and stacks and that just creates complexity. I mean,
think about the great non-vintage cuvées, things like the Krug 165, 171, 175 series.
When you think about wines like that, this wine's just a pretty close little step behind,
but damn, it's like right there. This is one of the best multi-vintage or non-vintage cuvées out
in the market right now. Priced accordingly, huh? So it's usually like $90 retail. Just like
we did with the other Charles Heitzig, running this back at half price. Again, $44.98 for this
wine. It's too low to show price. It'll be in the checkout. It'll be in your cart. Boom. So
this is really good. Real quick, that brioche element from the reserve wine
meshing seamlessly with the fresher cuvées. Sometimes these are a bit clumsy. Like the
reserve wine, you can feel it. It's clumsy. It feels old and there's a disconnect. Here,
the freshness and the richness of the reserve wine, they're just seamless, man. The chef,
the cop hammered this. Same type of deal, only 300 bottles. Oh my God, this wine is gorgeous.
