Ingredients 1 cup whole wheat flour 3/4 rolled oats 3/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce 1/2 cup canned pumpkin (NO pie pumpkin) 1 medium apple - peeled and small diced 1 teaspoon cinnamon 3 eggs
Frosting ingredients 1 package of cream cheese 2 - 3 tablespoons apple sauce small treats for toppers
Directions: First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Next you want to mix all of your dry ingredients together in one bowl. Mix oats (you can plus them in a food processor to make them smaller if you like, that is what I did), cinnamon, and flour together. In another bowl, mix your wet ingredients. Mix the pumpkin, apple sauce, eggs (slightly beaten), and apple. Slowly combine and mix together the wet and dry ingredients. Scoop mixture into a greased muffin tin. Pile the cupcakes up high as they will not rise, and they are dense! Bake for 25 - 30 mins until you see the tops just barely starting to brown. Remove from the over, transfer to a cooling rack, and the cool completely (you can leave them overnight if you wish).
To make the frosting, beat together the cream cheese with 2 tablespoons of apple sauce. If the frosting is not smooth enough, add another tablespoon of apple sauce. If you like, add food coloring to your liking. Spread the frosting on each pup cake and garnish with a treat! This recipe makes about 6 Pup cakes.

Hey Shelby! Is it your birthday tomorrow?
It's your birthday tomorrow! You're gonna be four years old!
Yeah! By the time you guys see this, it'll actually have been her birthday a week ago.
But today, we are gonna make birthday pup cakes for Shelby.
I'm gonna show you how to do it. Right? Let's show them!
Extreme close-up! Alright! We have all of our ingredients gathered.
Now, first thing we need to do is pre-heat the oven.
Pre-heat your oven to 350F
Now, we want to mix all of our dry ingredients together first.
We need one cup of whole wheat flour.
Three quarter cup of rolled oats. I actually put these in the food processor to make them a little bit finer.
You can do that or you don't have to.
And then, one teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
Just lightly fluff them together.
Now, in another bowl, we're gonna combine all the wet ingredients.
Three quarters of a cup of unsweetened applesauce.
Dog's gotta help cleaning the dishes. Good stuff?
Good stuff! Good stuff, right?
Half a cup of canned pumpkin. Not pumpkin pie mix. Just regular canned pumpkin.
Three eggs beaten.
And then, one medium apple diced. Make sure you wash your apple first.
Mix this together.
Now, we're gonna slowly add our dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
That's about what it's gonna look like.
Now, you take your muffin tin and it's supposed to make about six cupcakes.
So, I don't have a six cupcake pan. So, I'm using this one.
But, just lightly grease your muffin tin so that the muffins don't stick.
I'm using a spray.
These cupcakes are gonna be very dense. They don't rise.
So, just fill the tin. Fill the little things right up to the top.
Good stuff?
Want some Shi?
Come here Shi!
Come here Shi! Stop Shi!
Get some! Get out of the way!
Come here Shi!
Now, we can put them in the oven.
Now, we take the muffins and put them in the oven for about thirty minutes.
Take them out and let them cool.
There you go!
After about twenty five to thirty minutes.
I left these in the oven for thirty minutes.
You see, the tips will just start to get brown.
That's about when you want to take them out of the oven.
Then, I'm gonna let them cool in the rack for about five to ten minutes.
Then, I'm gonna move them to a cooling rack.
Once you can pretty much touch the tops of the muffins.
You can move them onto a cooling rack and let them cool.
It's best to let them cool overnight.
Once they are done cooling, we will make some frosting.
Now, we gotta make frosting for cupcakes.
We need one package of cream cheese.
One package of cream cheese.
Two to three tablespoons of unsweetened applesauce.
It just depends on how runny you want your frosting to be and how much applesauce you use.
I let the cream cheese sit out for about an hour.
Before I did this.
Soften it a little bit.
Are you gonna help?
Wanna make a package?
Start off by just adding the two tablespoons of applesauce.
If you think you need another, go ahead and add another.
Yummy! Yummy! Yummy!
Alright! I ended up doing three tablespoons of applesauce.
Now, I'm gonna add some food dye.
Now, we have purple frosting!
What you think of that? Purple frosting?
You can't eat those!
Wanna eat some frosting?
Yum! Yum! Yum!
Is that good stuff? Huh?
That's good stuff!
Now, we're gonna frost your cupcakes!
Cupcake frosting!
Frosting!
We'll get some to Shiloh!
Yum! Yum! Yum!
Gotta clean the dishes!
You have frosting in there!
If you really want to be fancy, you can take little dog treats.
Put them on top of the...
Look at that!
We have dog cupcakes!
You have frosting on your nose, Shiloh!
There you have it!
Now, they're good enough to eat!
Birthday cupcakes!
For Shelby!
Right? Cause it's your birthday!
It was your birthday!
By the time they see this video, it won't be your birthday anymore!
Mmm! They look good enough to eat!
Now, time to see if they'll enjoy these cupcakes!
Alright! Shelby gets hers first!
She's a birthday girl!
Yum! Yum! Yum!
Yep! I think they like them!
Both of them are eating them!
I think they like them!
Happy birthday Shelby!
Look at dad's car!
