Tetris 👾 City in the Maldives：MALÉ is the Manhattan of the Indian Ocean 🕌🏝️

It's by my way, it's by my way, it's by my way A new place, a new home for a while Let me feel alive Nothing to hold me back Take my time, just enjoy the ride Unknown man passing by Life is good, best I've ever felt Get me up, somewhere new Somewhere I can't find myself Oh, I feel, I feel, I feel, I feel so Welcome to WoW of the World and today I'll take you to the most densely populated capital in the entire world Which is in the middle of tropical paradise called the Maldives This is Mali, let's go During our trip around the world we turned Sri Lanka inside out With our friends from home we are making the trip of a lifetime Along natural and historical sites Last week we took an airplane to fly 1000 kilometers to Mali, the capital of the Maldives We hopped on a boat to explore paradise And first ended up in Fuli Do, a picture perfect bounty island full of wonders We left Fuli Do, but we traded up when we fell in love with the more traditional fisherman's island of Guli I found my way, I found my way I was in the dark, against it all, but made it through the day, cause I found my way Once again the underwater world was stunning In bad times, I know I'll be okay, cause I found my way I found my way, I found my way In bad times, I know I'll be okay, cause I found my way That's it unfortunately for this incredible island, the tropical island of Guli We're not leaving the Maldives yet, because we're taking a speedboat to the busiest island in the world Which is of course Mali, the capital of the Maldives And then it's on to Sri Lanka for a new adventure, so I'll see you there It almost feels like a funeral, leaving this island where time stands still And life is as simple as chilling on the beach and snorkeling with the sharks We cross the perfect blue ocean once again and have a final glance at this amazing water world We pass a lot of beautiful resorts that are just a bit out of our league when it comes to budget Then we see the high towers rising above the water's surface The capital of Mali looks like an intense game of Tetris Where the builders reached level 99 and one more block would cause game over And the whole island would make that peep sound and vanish They are creative with space though, like this mosque right on the beach We enter the island of Mali at the ferry terminal on the northeast side That was quite the boat ride guys, it took us only 30 minutes to get from Guli to Mali It costed around 20 bucks and the sea was quite bumpy and rough But we're here, inside the concrete jungle called Mali The capital which is also referred to as the Manhattan of the Indian Ocean And you can see why Let's grab a cab and find our Airbnb where we spend the night here in the big city Mali At first glance, Mali seems well structured and tidy But then we enter the narrow streets of this crammed Lego city As you can probably guess, we've reached the island of Mali And Mali is the capital of the Republic of the Maldives But it's only 1 by 1.7 kilometers And on that island live about 250.000 people So it's the most densely populated island and city in the entire world As you can imagine And as you can imagine, it's kind of hard in the most densely populated city in the world To find an apartment for 4 adults and 2 kids But we still did manage to find one right in the city center And it has a living room, 2 bedrooms and a large kitchen It's tiny but it's comfortable, I love it A place like this costs us only 75 bucks a night A real bargain for the space we get Now all we have to do is open the doors, which should be easy, right guys? It's like a free escape room game Once inside, the apartment does not disappoint at all So let's explore the city next A city like this, I just gotta see it from above I'm very curious as to how this super busy city is built on such a small island So let's take a look from above with the drone To fly the drone safely in a place like this, we need more space And this swimming track built over the sea will be the perfect runway We even got fans on the stands cheering us on Unlike the quiet resort islands nearby Male is a buzzing hub of motorbikes and narrow streets Famous for its architecture and vibrant fish markets The city is so small that you can walk across the entire island in about 45 minutes Yet it serves as the beating heart of the nation's culture and commerce We can also see that even with little space, sport still plays an important role on Male Given the fact that between those tightly puzzled apartment blocks There are lots of fields and stadiums On the east side, we see the bridge to the airport and Hulumale A man-made island created to expand the city's surface With the drone, we can see clearly how every inch of Tetris island Was used to create a city that meets all its citizens' needs Over on the west side, we see Darumavanta Hospital The highest building of the Maldives, with 100 meters And from this side, we can also see why the island is called The Manhattan of the Indian Ocean What a sight! Now that we are back, didn't one more thing about this island stand out? There is something here that you see so many of You're probably wondering how do so many people move themselves around on such a small island If they all have a car, the traffic is stuck all the time So this island actually has more motorbikes than people And you see them everywhere and they're kind of annoying Because you cannot go anywhere on the sidewalks I dare you to find a street in Male with no motorbikes Because you'll fail I now know why the Maldivians don't drink Imagine waking up with a hangover and you forgot where you parked your bike Dude, where's my motorbike? Moving on, we can recommend stopping at the incredible little bakeries I see you hesitating, while you're waiting Like somebody's gonna give it to you You gotta chase it, gotta believe it You gotta go get it for yourself Cause I can see in your eyes Your head is full of dreams Tears are a proof of failure You just gotta let them flow without judge After some games and takeaway dinners We have the alarm clock set super early You don't have to be ready You just gotta trust that right Wakey wakey NC, going to the airport You're able to be happy You can do whatever You don't have to be, you don't have to be That's it unfortunately for our incredible episodes here in the Maldives But we travel on and we'll visit Sri Lanka next We're going to the North and after that the Middle East With Bahrain, Kuwait, then to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan We go to Iceland, then cross the Atlantic Ocean to the USA We see Bermuda and even Jamaica There's lots more coming guys, I'll see you soon Ciao Hit the subscribe button so you don't miss a minute And always travel with us
