During my second night in Mexico City I met up with the 5 Mexican Guys and we went on a Fire Tacos Mexican Street Food Tour of the city. From Head Tacos, to Goat Tacos, we tried so many delicious Tacos!!
I met up with my friends the 5 Mexican Guys (only three joined, Moises, Horacio and Alonso). We started off the Taco Mexican Street Food tour at Parados for some delicious Tacos. We tried Beef with Chorizo, Al Pastor and Rib with Cheese.
Next up we went to Tacos Lolita to eat Head Tacos. We had mix of Head, Tongue, Intestines with eyes and Head broth. It might sound crazy but it was some of the best tacos in the world!
To switch it up we went to Quesadillas Maria Isabel to have deep fried Quesadillas. I had the Corn Fungus Quesadillas. It's the Mexican truffle and it was so fire!
To end the night we drove to Birria La Polar to have some Birria Tacos which is Goat and also to try the Goat broth. This is probably the best Taco in the world!

Moises didn't want to eat his taco, and I'm in love with this taco, so I'm going to dip it into the broth.
Two massive tacos for David.
This is mine. Stay away.
What up? What up?
What up? How are you doing?
Five Mexican guys.
What's up?
How you doing?
Nice to meet you, David.
What's up, everyone? This is David Hoffman from David's Bin here in beautiful Mexico City.
Tonight, I'm going on a night street food tour with my friends, the five Mexican guys.
Hello. What's up?
Right now, it's only three, though.
Yes, so tonight, we're going to eat some tacos. What else are we going to eat?
Birria, which is a broth with meat on it and with smoked chilies. It's very good.
We're also eating quesadillas.
They have different types of fillings.
There's a huge debate on what quesadilla means in Mexico, so I'm not even going to say anything about that.
I had one today, and it's completely different from what we have in the States.
In the States, it's not quesadilla.
In other parts of Mexico, people think that quesadillas must have cheese on them.
Here, people don't think that.
What I was saying is that if there's a lady making a quesadilla, and she calls it a quesadilla, I'm not going to argue with her, right?
That's exactly correct.
That's my point.
Our first stop is Taqueria Los Parados, the traditional tacos al carbón.
These are traditional tacos at Coil, so they use Coil to make the tacos.
Okay, we just have ordered a bistec and chorizo tacos, which is beef with chorizo tacos.
In this place, they are absolutely amazing. I like them every time I come here.
The other thing we ordered was al pastor tacos, which I think many of you know by now, but we will give you our review.
You guys are telling me, though, this place is famous for making tacos on Coil.
On Coil.
It has a kind of charcoal-y taste, a burnt taste.
I think the tacos taste better.
Instead of a normal grill with a metal, the Coil gives it such a deep taste.
The owner just told us that they've been here since 1965, so it's a long time.
So over 50 years.
You're doing something right, right?
Oh my God, I'm so hungry. I need to eat.
We got it. Al pastor tacos.
Everybody is excited.
Here are the salsas.
We need the salsas first.
Come on, guys.
There's no taco without salsa, man. Come on.
You know better.
Put everything you want on it.
Okay, so just a little lime.
Lime.
Perfect.
So we're going to start with the al pastor taco.
This thing is delicious.
We just put some salsas on it.
Ready?
Ready.
Let's go, let's go.
Yeah, but this is really hot.
You guys put too much spice in mine.
That pastor is delicious.
Oh my God.
What else do they have in here?
They have some onions, some cilantro?
Cilantro, onions, pineapple.
And it is just a perfectly balanced taco.
Yeah.
Between all the flavors.
Yeah, because it's hot, it's cold, it's sweet.
Yeah.
It's salty.
So pastor tacos came from the Middle East.
There's immigrants from the Middle East that came to Mexico.
And they were making kebabs, right?
And they put a Mexican spin on it and made it with pork.
And now you have pastor tacos.
Those are habanero slices.
This is habanero.
Oh my God.
We'll do this.
This is habanero with onions.
And it is not spicy at all.
You'll see.
We'll have to try.
So this one is chorizo with steak.
So steak taco.
We put a little bit of sauce on top.
Oh my God.
Let's go, let's go.
Oh, you can taste it.
It's like if you put it on a barbecue, a whole barbecue.
Same thing.
Oh my God.
Right here we have the ribs with cheese taco.
They look delicious.
We put some guacamole on top.
Oh my God.
This is like the best thing ever.
Look at this.
This monster.
Here we go.
Wow.
The cheese.
The rib.
This is good.
This is also on the coal.
So it has a nice like burnt coal taste.
I'm going to have to order more of these.
So it was 56 pesos for two tacos of chorizo with steak.
And then 61 for two tacos of the cheese with costilla.
Definitely worth it.
50 pesos for the pastor tacos.
Okay, how many more are we ordering?
I mean these tacos are so worthy, man.
They are delicious.
In fact, I think that you guys could continue with the tour.
I will stay here eating more of these.
Those are some delicious tacos.
I'm still really hungry though.
What's the next spot?
We're going to Lolita's tacos which are head tacos.
Head tacos.
So basically you eat tacos that are the head of a pig or is it a what?
It's beef.
So it's the head of a cow and it's basically anything.
Eyeballs, tongue.
Cheek, eye, tongue, brains, whatever.
That's amazing.
Oh my God.
This is very exotic.
I like it.
Yeah, yeah.
You will love them.
Right here, right?
Yep.
Woo.
Let's go.
I'll tell you guys.
The one thing I love about Mexico City is the food.
The food here is phenomenal.
God, the food, man.
The food.
These tacos are awesome.
Get ready.
Get ready?
Dude, I'm ready.
I was born ready.
I'm ready too.
Let's go.
Pasame el geldo, por favor.
Desde cuando llevan aquí, jefe?
18 años.
We ordered some head tacos, but I think Alonso eats better at explaining them.
Well, these four that we just ordered right now are head tacos.
And they are surtida, which is a mix of all the head.
Of the whole head.
Yeah, different parts of the head.
Yeah, just different pieces of the head.
Okay, so cheek.
Because you can eat, you can order different parts of the meat.
Okay, so basically this is a mix of everything.
So cheek, tongue, I don't know.
There's no tongue because tongue is more expensive.
Oh, okay.
So it's basically the bad part of the head.
This is a broth from the juices of the head.
Oh man, is it good?
Smells great.
Let me.
Let's all try it.
Oh, it's great.
A little too hot though.
Head taco, everything in here except the brain and tongue because they're more expensive.
I know my favorite part of the head is the cheeks.
So there is cheek in here.
There's also onions and I think cilantro.
Tasty, juicy, very good.
If they didn't tell you what was in it, you would love it.
But once you know what's in it, you're like maybe I don't try it.
That was amazing.
I want another one.
Next up we're trying tongue tacos.
I've eaten tongue before but never this good.
You can see that the tongue is a whole slice.
It is not chopped but it is a slice.
So as you can see, that is a humongous tongue.
That is a cow tongue.
He slices it into these small little steak slices.
Then he puts it on the taco just like this.
And then here we go.
Let's eat.
Here we have the tongue taco.
Let's have a bite.
It looks delicious.
I'm sure it's going to be juicy.
Very flavorful.
Oh my god.
That's so good.
So soft, right?
It's the softest piece of the meat, you know?
There's steam.
Oh, there's steam?
Exactly.
And I think you put too much red sauce in here.
I'm sorry, man.
That's delicious.
We're going to get one more taco here.
This taco sounds crazy.
It is eyeballs and intestines.
I actually love intestines.
I haven't tried this before so it's new for me as well.
But I eat intestines a lot.
Eyeballs and intestines?
Eyeballs and intestines.
It's called...
What is it called?
Harocho.
Harocho taco.
That was like the softest thing ever.
That was soft as a tongue.
Super soft.
Very juicy.
A little hot?
It has a stronger flavor than the other one.
Oh yeah.
Very strong.
But I like it more.
It's very fatty.
The intestine just shreds.
I don't know.
It's very chewy.
It like melts in your mouth.
I give these a 10 out of 5.
10 out of 5?
So this has been your favorite all day?
Yeah.
For sure?
Guys, where are we going next?
Next we're going to...
Quesadillas Maria Isabel in Polanco.
In Polanco?
Polanco.
Perfect.
That's quesadillas.
That's one thing I really haven't tried.
But the quesadillas here aren't quesadillas in America.
Quesadillas in America are like filled with cheese.
Here it's not.
Here in Mexico, there's a huge debate about that.
We are going to eat here some deep fried quesadillas.
Okay?
So let me tell you a little bit about this.
As you know, the quesadilla is made with dough, with masa.
But this time, people add some baking soda to the masa.
So it gets fluffy and spongy.
And then the quesadilla gets made with the filling you choose.
Like chicharron, or calabaza, or potatoes, or whatever you choose.
The filling.
And then it goes into a deep frying process.
And it is just awesome, guys.
Let's prepare our quesadillas.
Yeah.
They look oily.
Delicious.
Some cream.
Be sure to put a good amount, guys.
This is the secret.
You're overdoing it.
So let's be more sensitive with this one.
There you have it, guys.
Deep fried quesadillas.
How are we doing?
It's like, Becky, no?
Like side.
I think I got the spinach one.
Not what I got.
With la coche.
La coche.
With la coche is corn that got a fungus.
It's called Mexican truffle.
Okay, that's awesome.
I love truffles, so this is great.
Awesome.
Oh my god, this is amazing.
I've never had this type of truffle.
It felt like more like a vegetable.
It's not truffle.
It feels like a vegetable.
It's corn with a fungus.
That's cool.
I've also never had a deep fried quesadilla.
It's almost like an empanada.
It's very similar.
I'm going to stop talking.
It was like an empanada.
Corn fungus.
Was it good?
It was so good.
I'm a truffle believer.
I love truffles, so that was my top.
I would have chosen that if I knew that wasn't on the list.
You got lucky because that was the quesadilla roulette.
Where are we going next?
Next, we're hitting up the birria place.
It's called La Polar.
They were having a stew, right?
Is that what you said?
It's a broth with meat in it.
Spicy, oily.
Spicy and oily.
Greasy.
It's very flavorful.
I like those tacos a lot.
Oh, they're tacos?
Well, you can get them both.
You can get a broth with meat on it, or you can get a taco with a cup of broth.
The most common thing is to get your broth with meat.
We're getting some birria tacos and some broth as well.
And a beer too?
And a beer.
You want a beer?
Let's get a beer.
For sure.
I want a strong beer.
There's a strong beer.
We have the birria taco.
This taco is huge.
Look at this thing.
It's a brutal taco.
Yes, it is.
It's very big.
It's the last taco of the night.
This is our last stop.
Last taco.
This is huge.
The meat is so tender.
So this red sauce is smoked chili.
It's great.
You can try it with this.
This is the chili you eat.
Dude, this is one of the best tacos.
Yeah.
What do you mean?
We had to come here.
There was no way we could not come here.
What is the score for this taco, David?
Was this the best taco ever?
100 out of 5.
Oh my God.
I didn't know this was a goat.
This is a goat, yeah?
This is a goat taco.
That's why I love it.
My two favorite animals to eat.
Goat and lamb.
The broth.
What we usually do.
You can dip your taco in the broth.
Okay, I'll do that now.
The broth is so good.
Goat broth.
It's a little spicy.
It's a massive taco.
I'm going to dip this in here.
I'm in love with this taco.
I didn't know we were eating goat.
This taco is so good.
I think this might be the best taco of the night, right?
Moist.
Look at that.
That meat of the goat is so tender.
It's delicious, like spicy sauce.
I can feel it all in my lips.
And this is my second.
I've had a lot of tacos tonight.
This is my favorite taco of the whole night.
80 years old?
80 years old.
So...
That's why they have been here for so long, right?
80 years old.
Alright, so we had an incredible night.
We ate so many delicious tacos.
As I said, my favorite one was this one because it was goat taco.
And the eyeball and intestines.
And the cold one.
