Hello everyone, David Hoffman here and I just arrived in South Africa and our first destination
is Johannesburg.
While we're here, we're staying at the Tinswalo 5-star boutique hotel in the Waterfalls area.
There's a few reasons why I love this hotel.
Number one, the staff is extremely friendly.
Number two, they have 16 extremely spacious rooms, each room is literally bigger than
my apartment.
And what takes the cake are the heated floors in the bathroom.
Oh, they're so warm, they're incredible.
And now here's a few more words from the general manager, Altaf.
My name is Altaf Shaikh, I'm the general manager of Tinswalo at Waterfall.
Tinswalo at Waterfall is a boutique hotel, 16 suites.
We're situated in Kailami in Johannesburg, which is in South Africa.
Tinswalo at Waterfall, as I mentioned, it's got 16 suites, luxury rooms.
We also have three conference rooms, so it is a conference facility.
We have a restaurant, we do weddings, we have a pool area, and a nice open deck where guests
can come and enjoy the event, whatever they need, be a high tea or a cocktail party.
And of course we have the bar lounge area, which is also used often for tea parties as
well and high teas.
Well, we're situated, as I mentioned, in Kailami, which is about 15-20 minutes drive, distance
from the airport.
We're about 10 minutes from Santon.
Santon is sort of the main shopping hub in Johannesburg.
We're about half an hour's drive to central Johannesburg.
Over 90% of our market segmentation here is corporate business, and of course, Johannesburg
corporate is throughout the year.
We tend to decline a little bit in occupancy and in guests towards December, because a
lot of people in Johannesburg at that time head towards the south coast, head towards,
you know, they go for holidays.
So Johannesburg is very quiet over that time.
So I think our low seasons would be from around end of early December till about middle of
January, but we start picking up from about February throughout the year.
From July, August and September is when our peak season starts really, because that is
because we do a lot of corporate events and we handle a lot of year-end functions with
these big companies.
So we tend to, there's an influx of this type of thing, whether it's dinners or farewell
parties or that type of thing.
So that's our busiest time towards the end of the year.
But as I said, with December, we're very quiet.
