This orchid is almost completely dead. The leaves are wilted, the roots are dry,
there is no hope left. But after just six months, it bloomed beautifully like this.
The difference lies in a very simple process that most people don't know.
I will show you step by step how to save an orchid that seems impossible to save.
This is the initial condition of the orchid. The leaves are wrinkled, soft, and severely dehydrated.
The roots are completely dry and no longer able to absorb water.
If not treated properly, the plant will die within a few days.
When I take the plant out of the pot, I cut off all the dry and damaged roots.
Only keep the roots that are still green and healthy.
This is a very important step. Keeping dead roots will cause the plant to continue weakening.
After pruning, I will wash the plant thoroughly with clean water.
To completely remove any dirt and any remaining old growing mediums stuck to it.
I prepare one liter of water and mix it with one tablespoon of baking soda
to create a disinfecting solution for the plant. Baking soda not only cleans the plant but also
helps prevent fungi and bacteria that cause root rot. Soak the entire plant for 15 minutes.
Next is the recovery mixture. Mix one half liter of warm water with one tablespoon of white sugar.
Next add one tablespoon of yeast. When fermented with sugar for about one hour,
this mixture produces nutrients and beneficial microorganisms
helps stimulate the recovery process and root growth.
After one hour of fermentation, I filter out the residue to obtain a clear solution.
Next I soak the orchid's roots in this mixture and use a soft cotton pad soaked in the solution
to gently wipe both sides of the leaves. Help the plant absorb nutrients better and recover faster.
Soak the plant for about 20 to 30 minutes so the roots and leaves can absorb better.
After soaking, I take the plant out and let it dry completely before replanting it.
Then replant it in a pot with drainage holes using pine bark so the roots remain well ventilated.
Let the plant rest for a few days, then start watering again with the sugar and
yeast mixture to support recovery. Water gently just enough to moisten the growing medium.
After that, place the plant in a location with indirect light so it can recover better. After
three months, the plant has recovered remarkably well. Two flower spikes have appeared with many
buds developing. New roots begin to grow from the base. This is clear evidence of the effectiveness
of this method. I continue watering with this mixture to maintain nutrients and promote strong
recovery of the plant. Just apply this mixture periodically one to two times per month to
achieve the best results. After six months, the plant has bloomed beautifully. A plant that once
seemed dead has fully back to life. If your orchid is weak, comment rescue I will help you.
