if you want to visit switzerland in june then you better watch this video first because otherwise
things may not go the way you want them to be. i'm going to talk about the weather, the season
in general, the attractions, culture, food and so on. so definitely you're going to know everything
to optimally plan for your upcoming vacation. so first we're going to start with the weather.
june marks the beginning of summer. in the first two weeks it's going to be usually above 20
and as the month is progressing it's going to be above 25 or even 27 degrees celsius.
sometimes it can be even hot then the temperatures will climb above 30. in general june is a rather
sunny month, definitely less rainy than may but sometimes it can also be the other way around
where may is going to be very sunny then it's going to rain a lot in june. well that happened
june is also the month with the longest days of the year. on 21st of june the sun is going to set
at 9 30. so here you see there will be a lot of daylight and it can do many things throughout the
entire day. now since you're going to have warm temperatures and a lot of sun also make sure to
bring enough sunblock with you because the uv index is going to be high too, very high. now we
continue with the season. june is a low season travel month that's quite surprising because it's
actually summer but this is really your last chance where you can enjoy all these beautiful
places with only little people. afterwards in july and august is going to be many many people
traveling to switzerland and everything is going to be packed. now if you visit popular places like
in early june it's going to be fantastic. not many people are going there and it really feels
like wow i'm actually discovering this place. so this is really something i very much like about
june. and since it's the low season this is your last chance to benefit from lower prices.
afterwards in july and august the prices for hotels and attractions can sometimes
raise by around 50 percent. so june is definitely perfect for budget travelers.
when it comes to the waterfalls in june there will be a lot of snowmelt. that's going to feed
the waterfalls very much and with that they're going to look very powerful. for example if you're
going to see the giesbog waterfalls or the rheinfalls they're going to look absolutely
majestic. so going to see waterfalls in june that's definitely going to be a great idea.
when it comes to hiking many trails are now accessible. everything below 2500 meters should
in general be no problem. but all of the trails above these usually are only going to open up
during july. if you're going for a hike during june make sure to bring a hat with you, sunglasses,
sunblock and also enough water, even a pullover. otherwise your hiking experience is going to be
absolutely terrible. i can promise that to you. now let's talk about the food. june is the last
chance to experience finest asparagus. you can do that in flach in the restaurant Obermühle.
and now in june we are going to have various berries from switzerland that are going to be
available. you can try strawberries, wild berries, cherries. really really great. so definitely a lot
of local foods for you to try. a question that i do get a lot. jmo is it now lush green in switzerland?
so my answer here is that most of the sprouting is now over. that usually happens in april and may.
so everything is going to look lush green. and this is really fantastic because june is definitely
the greenest month of the year. afterwards in july the greens they're going to turn somewhat like
lime green or yellowish. up in the alps things are a little bit different. over there it's in general
cooler. so spring is going to happen in early june. you're going to see various flowers blooming.
usually on the low altitude parts of switzerland that happens in april. but in the alps everything
is quite delayed. and the summer season over there is definitely going to be much shorter than
everywhere else in switzerland. another question that i do get a lot. will there be still a lot of
snow? well as long as you're above 2000 meters in general it's no problem. if you're above 2500
meters there's still going to be a lot of snow. so for example you can visit the Jungfraujoch
or the Kleine Scheidegg. even Trockener Steg, Kleinmatterhorn, over there there's going to be
tons of snow still. and if you want to go for a ski well after disappointed june is really the
absolutely wrong month for that. it's summer, winter season is definitely over. usually the ski resorts
are going to close down in april. but in Zermatt and Saas Fee you still can go for summer skiing.
i don't know for how much longer that's going to be possible. well with global warming and so on
definitely many ski resorts that usually offered summer skiing before they already have closed
down. and probably that's also going to happen eventually for Zermatt and Saas Fee. also the
glaciers they're now going to be beautifully exposed. in my opinion they look much better
when there's no snow. but i know it's not really good when there's no more snow on the glaciers
then they're going to melt even faster. but yes during june the glaciers they're going to
look absolutely stunning. if you want to see beautiful ones you can go for example to the
Gornergrat or to the Eckishorn. if you want to go for swimming june is absolutely fantastic. so up
from the second week everything is going to be usually warm enough for you to swim in the rivers
or in the lakes. if you want to go to Ticino to have the ultimate swimming experience well then
many of these places also the waters are going to be warm already. so in the lakes and in the rivers
usually the water is going to be around 17 to 19 degrees. it really depends on how much rain was in
may and early june. and in Ticino usually the temperatures can vary between 12 15 or even 19
degrees depending on where you go for a swim. already mentioned most of the hotels they're open
again but now there are also some guest houses up in the alps especially that's important for
hikers. these are also going to be again open up from june. so really great places for you to stay
at. now if you want to know where all the spots are located at that's my demographic map by the
way the secret expansion. and please if you're going to post something about these spots on
social media please do not reveal the location because otherwise you'll have these big influencers
going there. they're going to tell you exactly how to reach it. it's going to be available for everyone
and well after that these places are going to be ruined for good. well it's going to look something
like this afterwards and that's probably something we do not want. right? and if you want to purchase
the map you can just click on the link down in the descriptions or in the pinned comment. you see
june is a really great month and it's even going to be better because pretty much all of the
attractions they're now going to be open. well summer season is now really starting. if you want
to go to the Gelmerbahn, the steep funicular, you want to go up to the Rothorn, Schienengeplatte, all of
these attractions finally they are open again. usually it's like this the last attractions
they're going to open up in june but sometimes a few attractions they're only going to open up in
july. before we're going to continue what do you think about june as a travel month for here in
switzerland? or is there any other month you prefer? or if you've already visited my beautiful country
well then please let me know during which month it was. i'm really interested to read your opinions
down in the comments. and it even gets better even now all the past roads they're all open.
how cool is that? so these are roads that take you from one valley to the other one. you're going to
ascend and then again down. it's going to look really beautiful. these are going through some
of the most beautiful landscapes in all of switzerland. and by the way here i can highly
recommend you to do the Vorkapp Pass road. that one is absolutely stunning. it's by the way a James
Bond Goldfinger filming location. and you can also visit the Rhone Glacier cave at the Belvedere.
that's a very unique experience. do it while it still lasts because the Rhone Glacier is also
retreating a lot with global warming. and i think in 10 years i don't really know if this attraction
is still going to be open. june is basically the better summer. it's warm but not too hot.
they're not going to be too many tourists. all of the attractions are open. everything is going to
cost less. and all the pass roads are open. well what more do you want? sounds like a perfect month
for you to travel. and now we continue with the culture. so june in general is not a very cultural
month. but if you really want to see something we do have for example folklore festivals. you can
see people with traditional dresses. there are also music festivals for example such with
alphorns. it's going to look something like this. well not exactly like this one because that
festival only happens in august. but definitely great things for you to see even during june.
with this video you should definitely be prepared for your upcoming trip during june. if you want
to know how it's during july then i'm going to see over there. otherwise if you're more
interested in the best things to do during summer well then let's meet in this video.
