Isaiah 26: 3-4 Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace—because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord God you have an everlasting rock.
Alright y'all, I am so ready for spring. That's all I can think about. Spring, spring, spring,
just spring on the brain, okay? And I do feel like it's still a little too early to completely
transform the house over spring decor. It's still February, but it's not too early to start
thrifting for spring. So that is what I plan to do with y'all today. We're gonna go out and thrift
for spring decor specifically. I'm gonna try so hard to have my little thrifting blinders on so I
can stay focused on just spring decor because y'all, my spring bin is the most depressing bin
of all of my seasonal bins. Just have some like gardening books and bird nests. So I need to find
some things to really elevate my spring decorating. So in today's video, we're going to four or five,
let's say, one, two, three, four. We went to five stores in today's thrifting video. I thought it
would be helpful to share my mood board with y'all to give you an idea of the direction I'm going
in for my spring decorating or hoping to go in. So I'm wanting, of course, blues and greens, but in
brighter shades. And I'm even thinking like a pop of pink in the florals that I use. But for me, for
spring decorating, I prefer kind of like a gardening theme or lots of nature-inspired things like birds
and bird's nests. I don't really do Easter decor, but this year I'm just wanting to add different
colors and patterns and textures just to make everything feel more filled out. So that's where
my head's at and I'm gonna try so hard to stay focused on thrifting. Anything that fits that
mood board that I just shared. So let's head out thrifting and I'll see you back here after.
Okay y'all, we are at the first stop. Again, I'm trying to keep an eye out for only things that
are spring related because I had multiple stores I wanted to hit today and some of them closed early
earlier in the day, around three. So I wasn't wasting any time. Look at this cute teapot. I
love pink and green together, especially for spring. Where do y'all get your faux florals
from? I think most of mine are from Amazon or Hobby Lobby if I can catch them on sale, but
they're so expensive. Otherwise, I always see people sharing the most beautiful florals from
like Michaels or somewhere, but they're so expensive. I just can't justify paying that
much for a fake flower. I'm not only hunting for decor today, I'm also wanting to keep an eye out
for fabric or just materials I could repurpose to possibly make my own throw pillows or do some
spring DIYs with. These napkins were very pretty, but too yellow for me. I'm slowly warming up to
painted pottery like this because I see this kind of stuff on a lot of the decor accounts I follow
over on Instagram, so I'm definitely being influenced. I also see a lot of sponge wear like
this, but I'm not gonna lie, I'm not a big fan of the sponge wear look at this point, but I know a
lot of you love it. I was hoping to find some nice wood frames with some like ornate details that
have the matte in them because I'm needing some for a DIY I want to do, which I'll probably share
in a video soon if it works out. Their vase and section where they have their pots and garden
stuff was pretty bare today, but I was trying to keep an open mind and picture how I could repaint
or just make something over. I liked this metal basket with the rusty green paint look, and it
even had a cute little metal bow at the top, but they had dirty on it, which is a little insane.
Okay, this was my second stop, and I immediately saw this bird cage over here, which was cute,
especially if you removed the greenery and painted it a nice spring green or blue.
And again, I think I was drawn to this because of the little hand-painted
details. I loved it because of that. I was contemplating painting stripes onto one of these
like the framed art on my mood board, but I realized that's stupid because I could just
easily do that to a plain mat without ruining these pieces of art. I spotted these pillow
covers over here and realized together they were almost the exact spring palette that I was going
for today. Y'all know I love using vintage hats in my decorating, and this one is perfect for
spring. Oh, and this is more of a summery thing, but this ship image would be great to cut out
and frame. Okay, I actually included some footage from a nearby consignment shop that I never go to
because honestly, I am not about that life, but I did it for the sake of finding what I need, which
I did find some things, but for the most part, these- these purses are crazy, y'all. Like,
why was this basket $19? Please. These caught my eye, and then I realized I have them in the
18x18. They're from Amazon. I used them last year in my spring decor. I have been hoping to find
a shade like this for my floor lamp, but I was worried that this one might be too big,
and it was $25, which maybe that's a good price. I don't know, but then I saw this one, and I was
fully prepared to pay $25, except it was $60, so that hurt a little because it was beautiful.
I love this pillow. It matches the blue gingham tablecloth that I have almost perfectly.
All right, now we are at the fourth stop, Goodwill. My dear old friend,
I actually have combined clips from both of my local Goodwills that I stopped into this day,
and there was plenty of stuff to see, lots of potential for the mood board. Actually, this
little picture right here, this is from two weeks ago, and this is what inspired this video,
but you know what, y'all? I did not even get this because I'm a dummy. I couldn't even tell you why.
I think it's so cute now that I'm looking at it. It has been so long since I've found good vintage
art at any of my Goodwills, but I really liked the green mat on this. I wasn't loving the artwork,
and I, again, didn't want to destroy something just for the frame and the mat.
I spotted this really pretty green color. I thought it was a nice spring green. I didn't love
the design on there, but you could easily repaint that. If y'all have any online recommendations for
a good place to get nice, pretty fabrics, please let me know. I don't love the selection at Hobby
Lobby or Michaels, and obviously Joann's has closed down, so I'd love to know where y'all
possibly get yours. This little pillow reminded me of the one on the mood board, minus the frogs.
I wish there had been two of these green cups because I loved them. Y'all, I swear the color
yellow is haunting me because I don't like it. I loved the shape of this vase and wish it would
have been in a green or a blue. Alright, technically this last stop isn't a thrift store, but I really
wanted to stop in and check for anything good before I headed home, and I especially wanted
to look at this outdoor area where they have all the old crusty outdoor stuff that I love, like
vases and pots and garden decor. They had so many amazing terracotta pots. I looked through all of
them for any that had chipping or like chippy paint or just really good patina on them. We're
not going to spend too much time in here since it is an antique store, but I think it's still worth
stopping in and checking to keep myself from getting distracted or just overwhelmed. I really
just skimmed the booths for any blues or greens that stood out to me. That way I could easily
stay on track. I loved these old rusty garden tools. They would be perfect for a potting bench
or a gardening vignette. I would love to recreate this lamp one day with my own
thrifting finds, and I honestly don't think $18 was a terrible price for it because this is so
adorable. Y'all, this vase looked almost identical to the one that I collaged onto my mood board.
Do y'all think I should go back and get it and see if it's still there? This was a few days before
payday, so I wasn't really feeling spendy at the time, but I think it's so perfect. I think I might
need to go back. You know what's funny is every time I go out thrifting or if I'm hunting for
something specific like today with my mood board, I always have such high hopes and just magically
expect that I'm going to find everything that I'm looking for. And then I think it was last weekend
that I went out on a whim, went to almost every store I went to today, and found so much stuff.
So I'll have to share that haul in an upcoming video here soon, but I did find some things today
that go along nicely. I had to take Jackson's toy because he won't stop squeaking it while I'm trying to
talk. Okay, so from the antique store, I picked up this really beautiful pot, terracotta pot, because
I loved all this age and patina it has. And just look at that beautiful green color for spring.
So I had to have that. It was only four dollars. Then the only other thing that I got from the
antique store was this little leaf dish. And this isn't really spring per se, but I just thought this
was a cute little trinket dish to have to maybe sit on the coffee table. Or I like that it's curved
on the end right here so it can fit up against something nicely. He's mad at me because I have
his favorite toy over here. It doesn't even squeak anymore. He just likes to pop it. All right, and I
did get a few things from the consignment store, which is so unlike me because honestly, even the
things I purchased are still overpriced in my opinion. But I grabbed a little wicker or woven
nightlight. This was $5.24. And I normally don't like this woven, whatever this type of material
is. I'm not a big fan of that, but since it's just nightlight, it's okay. And I need one for the
kitchen. All right, and then this was definitely an impulse buy. I had to get the April Cornell cloth
napkins. I just love her designs. And this is a lot of pink, so I'm not really sure where I'm
going to put these or how I'm going to use them. I did already roll one up and put it over in the
silver bucket where I've been doing the spring cloth napkins, like rolled up in there. So if
anything, I have one for that. And I don't do table settings or place settings or tablescapes,
so I don't know. If you have any ideas on how I could repurpose those, let me know. I also grabbed
this book from the consignment store because I just loved this spine for spring and summer. It's
a nice, vibrant, tealish blue color. And it also has a lot of really nice illustrations inside,
which I love. And I did get this boudoir book, just because y'all know I like design books and
this like Victorian antique boudoir style. I really love that, so I'm excited to look through
that. Okay, and then my last finds were from Goodwill. I'm saving the best for last. But I did
grab these. Again, some more cloth napkins. Like what is my obsession with these? I don't know.
But these are a really beautiful kind of... Is this chartreuse? I have no idea how to describe
this color, but I really loved these. They were only 59 cents a piece, and I just thought they
had a nice, vibrant green color for spring. Okay, and then the star of the show, hello. Look how
gorgeous she is. I've never found a wood duck drifting before. It was only $4.99. I totally
expected it to be way more than that. And y'all, I saw this in the distance and I beelined for it.
I'm pretty sure there was another girl headed straight for it as well, and I was faster. I'm
just kidding. But here's the thing. I really do love this, appreciate it for what it is. I think
it's gorgeous. I'm like 40% okay with the paint job and want to keep it this way. 60% want to
cover up the roses. I just feel like they limit me, but I don't know. I also don't want to regret
it because I'm no painter. I'm not even really good at DIYs. So y'all have to let me know your
thoughts on that. Would you paint this? But I was really excited to show y'all my new duck.
Alright, that is everything that I found out thrifting today. Obviously, I'm going to keep
thrifting. I'm about to go to the Goodwill bin right now. So wish me luck. I do plan to share
some more spring videos, maybe the next few videos. I'm going to do one big spring video,
I think, where I'll do like a haul of new and thrifted things. I have some DIYs and
little thrift flips that I want to share with you. And then we'll start decorating shortly after
that. So if you enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up, subscribe, and I will talk to y'all
in my next video. Bye! Alright, here you go. Are we friends again?
