Is this just your rice?
If you know me, you'll know Sinigang is my all-time favourite.
Hoda's been loving the mango shakes.
Okay, let's try the sisig.
Wow, this looks so good.
Good morning, guys. Welcome back to a brand new video. Welcome back to another Juicy Vlog.
Today, we are so excited. We're finally getting our Filipino food fix. Let's go.
We are also meeting some very close friends of ours who we've not seen in two years, so we're very excited for that.
I don't know what I'm more excited for.
I think it's probably a tie.
I'm joking, guys. Of course, I'm more excited to see you.
So, we've had a bit of Filipino food in England.
We've tried to make stuff.
There's some great restaurants near us, but it doesn't hit the same as when you're in the Philippines.
So, we are heading for a feast right now.
So excited.
Here we are.
Hi, guys.
You guys are matching.
Oh, yeah.
So, we've ordered loads of food.
We've got sisig, sinigang, crispy pata, inasal, garlic rice.
We've got some shakes like buko pandan.
We've got... George has ordered one with... Is it sago?
Sago or sego?
Sago, yeah.
Sago.
Neither what I said.
George ordered an iced coffee with the little balls in, which I'm quite interested to try.
And I think the plan is to try and get Remy to sleep before we eat again because that has been a dream up to now.
Yeah, go do it now.
Otherwise, the food will come and we'll eat it without you because I haven't even eaten breakfast today.
So, we've got crispy pata, the famous manam watermelon beef short rib sinigang,
sisig, which George will be tucking into, if it's just your rice.
Portion for one.
And then I've got the buko pandan shake from here as well, which I absolutely love.
Okay, if you know me, you'll know that...
Oh, my goodness. Why am I so zoomed in?
That is not what anyone asked for.
If you know me, you'll know sinigang is my all-time favourite Filipino food.
So, let's...
Oh, I've missed this so much.
So good.
That sourness.
Bursting with flavour.
I think this is the most flavourful soup in the world because it's just like an explosion of flavour.
So good.
Such a good drink that as well.
So refreshing.
We've got some crispy pata here.
The skin of the crispy pata.
Such a good crunch.
Okay, I am back, Remy.
Can I feed you your mango shake?
Yeah.
Are you one years old?
No.
How old are you?
Four.
But you want me to feed it to you?
Yeah.
Okay then.
Here you go.
Toto's been loving the mango shakes.
Just been living on mango in the Philippines.
How's that?
Why?
Because it might spill on you.
Oh, you don't want me to spill it.
Alright, fair enough.
That's sensible.
Okay, my stuff's here.
Wow, this massive iced coffee.
I need a straw for that, definitely.
The food looks really good.
I love it.
The benefit of...
I love my mango shake.
You love your mango shake?
Good.
The benefit of going to get Remy to sleep is that when I came back, Lucy has served me a plate already.
So let's get some of this coffee in and I can wake up a little bit.
So nice to see these guys.
It's been two years.
Some of our great friends out here who we miss dearly when we're in the UK.
It just feels so, so far away.
But when we're together, it's like no time's passed whatsoever.
Let's try this.
Mmm.
Oh, that's really nice.
It's sweet.
I'm not usually a sweet coffee guy, but once in a while.
Sweet coffee, once in a while.
I'm a sweet guy.
I'm trying to drink my mango shake.
You want to drink your mango shake?
You want some more mango shake?
Here you go.
Good?
Can I try it?
No.
No?
Okay, so I have got the sisig, crispy pata, chicken inasal, garlic rice.
What better plate could you have as our first taste of Filipino food again in two years?
It's like my dream plate.
Just fill it with meat, throw in some rice.
I've also got the watermelon and beef short rib sinigang.
Which actually I'll try first because I feel like it's nice to start a meal with some soup.
I haven't had sinigang for, well, a long time.
We have actually made it at home before.
That's so nice.
It's really good.
Really good.
Oh my God.
It's actually less, slightly less sour than other sinigangs,
but it's got sweetness to it with the watermelon as well.
Really, really nice.
Coda, do you know, do you know what this is?
What?
This stuff.
I don't know.
Chicken?
No.
It's from a pig.
A pig?
Pig.
Ham?
It's like ham, yeah.
But it's from a pig's face.
Pig's face?
Yeah.
You want to try?
Not yet.
It's super yummy.
Not yet, okay.
What does it come out from?
It's just like the pig's face.
Pig face?
Yeah.
Are you eating a pig face?
Yeah.
Are you?
Are you eating a pig's nose?
But why is it really tiny and little?
Because it's all chopped up.
It's from a pig's face.
Yeah.
Are you eating a pig's nose?
Nose, yeah, yeah.
All of it.
All of it?
The tummy?
The tummy is like bacon or ham, pork belly.
Okay, let's try the sisig.
So, so good.
That's the crispiest sisig I've ever had in my life.
I don't think I've had it from here before.
It's so crispy.
Yum.
You're awake now.
Why are you awake now?
Okay, amazing meal here.
Very full, very satisfied.
We're going to head over to the mall over the road.
We're in Uptown Mall at the moment.
We're going to go to the Mitsukoshi Japanese Mall
because there is a Kidzuna there
and we think it's just going to be perfect for Koda at this age.
And even Remy is going to be able to play with some of the balls and things
and their kid is here with us as well.
So we're going to go do a little bit of playing.
My plan is to sneak off to a rabbit club in that mall, get a little coffee.
Feeling very full, very satisfied with that meal.
We're now outside at the Uptown Mall Fountains.
It's so nice here.
Beautiful, like greenery and stuff behind me.
Big buildings up top.
Such a cool place.
And we are heading over the road now to...
Behind me, where is it?
No, it's just water.
To...
Which side is it?
I'm going backwards.
There.
It's really hot.
My screen's flipped around.
Mitsukoshi Mall, because they've got a new Kidzuna.
So we're going to let the kids run off some steam
and have a bit of a run around there and see the new Kidzuna.
I don't think I've ever seen Koda this hyper.
He is so confident here in the Philippines.
He's just loving it.
It's like...
I don't know, it's like he knows he was made here.
It was so nice to see.
He's so confident, running into the mall, through the guards.
They're just nodding at him and he just walks in.
He's running to Kidzuna going, Kidzuna, Kidzuna.
And just loves it.
He just absolutely loves it.
So we're here now.
Going to let the kids have a play around.
What are you doing?
Wow, you've got boots on.
You could have these ones.
I think I've got a film on.
How do you steer this thing?
Here we go, here we go.
Yeah.
Go for it.
Chase him, chase him.
That's quite cool.
This might be the worst thing I've ever seen.
I want some sheep.
You want some sheep? Interesting.
I want to eat.
That's actually lamb.
I want to eat lamb.
You want to eat some lamb?
Well, what we're going to do is get some beef.
We've now come down to the food court down here.
The Mitsukoshi mall.
Thank you.
The plan is to get some, basically you can choose meat from here.
And then they cook it.
So we came here before and we got these amazing Wagyu skewers.
So we're just going to get a small snack.
Then they've got all these Japanese ice creams in the freezer that Koda really likes to look off.
He's looking at now.
So we might see if we can have a little bit of that as well.
I'm following him right now because he can't stop looking at it.
What are you looking for?
Cookies.
Cookies?
Cookies.
The what?
Cookies.
Oh, you haven't had your bread yet.
What bread do you want here?
Mommy.
You want mommy?
Yeah.
Mommy's this way.
She's ordering the meat.
So we've got these Wagyu beef skewers.
It's 180 pesos for like three cubes.
And I think that's really good value.
So delicious.
It's like super soft, isn't it?
No.
What is it then?
It's not super soft.
What would you say it is?
A bit hard.
Well, it's softer than some steak where you've got to like pull it off.
I think it's really soft for a steak.
So nice catching up with our friends.
Like so lovely just to hang out with them and the kids.
I think we've just got plans now to wander around this area again.
We might head back towards the high street area.
We do actually leave BGC tomorrow to head to somewhere very special
that we're very excited to show you.
We've got a flight in the morning.
So yeah, really looking forward to that.
A flight in the morning tomorrow?
Yeah.
Which one?
It's okay.
But is it on the airplane?
Yeah.
We fly on the airplane.
But are we still in the Philippines?
Still in the Philippines, yeah.
It's just a different place in the Philippines.
Different place in the Philippines and we had to fly on the airplane?
Yeah.
That's funny.
Is that good?
I know why because of the water.
Yeah, exactly.
So a few hours later now, we've been walking around for a bit
and we've got a bit of an appetite.
Believe it or not, we're hungry again.
And we couldn't be in the uptown area without coming to Lentokoro
which is our like all-time favourite ramen spot.
Genuinely, in our opinion, it's better than the ramen we had in Japan.
We've been to Japan several times
and as amazing as the ramen is there, this just tops it.
There's something about it.
It's unbelievable.
So we are going to have some ramen.
I don't know if we filmed it.
We saw the beef skewers in the mall downstairs.
Good day of food today.
We're having a very good food day.
Yeah, coming in here.
I was going to say it's a cool down.
It's quite hot in here.
But Remy's having a nap.
Koda's got a toy from the little twisty,
the things you put a token in and you twist it and something comes out.
Whatever that's called.
The little dragon turtle thing.
And he's loving it.
And he's like adding chopsticks to it.
I don't know what's going on.
Careful, careful.
So he's very happy.
And yeah, this is like one of my favourite spots ever.
So I'm so excited to eat this.
I wish we'd come to London.
Or even better to Worthing or Hightown in England.
Maybe there's an opening.
I'm not sure.
Yeah, cannot wait.
Cannot wait.
Wow, this looks so good.
I love how the noodles are always like really al dente.
So good.
Oh yeah.
I always add a few bits.
So I have my soy sauce.
I think I add chilli oil.
But I don't know if I'm going to regret that.
Do I add chilli oil?
And I feel like I add the chilli powder as well.
Let's just go for it.
Oh no, I'm going to give Koda some before I add loads of chilli to it.
Alright, it is a few hours later.
And I've just realised that every single one of these vlogs so far,
I think, in Manila, has ended in the condo.
And that is because we get the boys to bed like around 7 or 8pm.
And then obviously we stay in for the night.
But I am currently on a little mission to pick up our laundry.
Because I dropped it yesterday.
We asked for the rush service.
And it's ready now.
It's ready tonight at 8pm.
I'm half an hour late.
And the laundry shop actually closes in 30 minutes.
But it's only just down here.
So I'm not going to miss it.
So I'm going to end off this evening's vlog.
Oh, I could have gone.
No, always follow what I teach Koda.
Red man, don't go.
Could have potentially crossed the road then.
But I just wanted to end the vlog tonight.
Out here in BGC.
This just reminds me of Lucy and I.
Back in the day.
Back in the daily vlogging, daily juice days.
Some of you may remember.
Lockdown.
Before lockdown.
Not after lockdown.
But before and during lockdown.
When we were allowed, we'd come out for an evening.
I remember we'd edit the vlog.
Get the vlog live.
Flick it live.
And that would kind of be us done for the evening.
We'd go out.
Cameras away.
We'd go out from all around BGC for like an hour or two.
Pretty much every evening.
And that was just so good.
It felt like this.
It looked like this.
And it's just like.
I was just smiling.
I must have looked really weird.
I mean more weird than holding my phone up and filming myself.
But I was just like grinning to myself.
Just such good memories.
Such nostalgia.
And yeah.
Wanted to end off the vlog outside.
In the city.
In BGC.
Thank you for watching another vlog.
End of vlog club.
We are at this point again.
End of vlog club.
If you have watched this front vlog.
You're a part of end of vlog club.
All I want you to do is comment.
End of vlog club.
I go through.
Personally give every comment a heart.
And reply to as many as I possibly can.
I'm going across the road now.
Before the green man.
Let's wait for the green man.
There's the green.
There's the green man.
Okay we're going.
20 seconds to cross.
20 seconds to end the vlog.
And not do a rambling vlog outro.
So thanks so much for watching today.
If you enjoyed it please give it a thumbs up.
Subscribe if you're new around here.
And we'll see you soon.
Very soon.
In a very exciting vlog.
We're actually taking a plane tomorrow.
We've got island life coming up.
We've got beach life coming up.
Didn't end the vlog in time before crossing the road.
So I'm terrible at this rambling outro.
But thanks again.
And we'll see you in the next vlog.
Very very soon.
Bye bye.
