Boys and girls and welcome back to Graceville where God's love is everywhere. It's me
Pastor Anastasia and I'm so super duper excited that you've joined me today as we learn more
about our best friend Jesus. Today's special feature comes to us all the way from England.
Where my friend Nala has prepared a beautiful song just for us. Let's listen in.
Thanks Nala that was amazing. Boys and girls remember if you want to share your gifts and
talents with Jesus please ask your parents or guardians to inbox me and I'd be happy to share
with our friends. There you are I was just hanging out with my buddy Hopper. We're about to find out
some more about God's cool creation. Of course I know that it's his favorite time at Graceville
nature time and our friend Rosaria is back to teach us some more about God's creation.
So let's hop over to nature time. Welcome to nature time boys and girls. My name is Rosaria
Riley and today we're going to take a look at another amazing animal from the island of Grand
Cayman. Let's take a look then shall we. The blue iguana is an endangered species and is only found
on the island of Grand Cayman. Wow! Specifically they live here at the Queen Elizabeth II
Botanical Park. Did you know that blue iguanas almost went extinct? But thanks to conservation
efforts their numbers have increased greatly over the years. Blue iguanas are the longest
living lizard and can live up to 69 years old. They love eating fruits especially yummy mangoes
and apples but they have also been known to eat flies and insects too. Genesis chapter 1 verse 28
says take care of the fish in the sea and of the birds in the sky and of every living creature that
moves on the ground. Kids God wants us to take care of the plants and animals around us so let's
do that today and make the world a better place. Thank you so much for joining me for nature time
today. I'll see you next time kids. Bye. Just in time to check in on Melissa. I wonder how her week
went. Well to find out more you'll just have to come along with me. Pastor Anastasia guess what?
I can't guess. Tell me already. Well my church is planning an Easter Sunday fun day this weekend.
Hmm sounds like fun. Well it will be if we could only agree. My friends want to have Easter bunnies
and egg hunts but I just want to have fun celebrating the true meaning of Easter. Jesus'
sacrifice on the cross. You're absolutely right Melissa. It's all about what Jesus did to save us
by dying on the cross. He gave his life that we may have eternal life. Wait a minute. That reminds
me of our theme for this week which simply says Jesus gave his all to save us. Let me hear my
friend Zay say it. Jesus gave his all to save us. And our memory verse is found in John 3 16 and it
simply said for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes
in him would not perish but have eternal life. Let me hear my friend Martin from Nepal say it.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him
would not perish but have everlasting life. John 3 16. Great job everyone.
It's so hard to understand how so many choose a bunny over Jesus when God sent his only son
to die for us. I agree. Easter is the perfect time to remind people that Jesus is God's son.
That's why today's story is about a man who finally realized this fact when he said truly
he was the son of God at the cross. Can you guess who today's story is about?
I know who said that Pastor Anastasia. That was too easy. Today's story is about the Roman
soldier at the cross. That's right Hannah. Today's story is about the Roman soldier.
It's a bad gloomy Friday but Jesus was crucified on the cross. The angry mob and Jesus's followers
gathered there that day our savior died. They watched as soldiers nailed him to the cross
and pierced his thigh. He suffered and bled for hours before he died. The Roman soldiers
were among those who were there too even though they weren't believers. They were just doing
their jobs. At noon darkness fell across the entire sky. Three hours later Jesus took his
last breath and died to save us from our sins. At that moment the earth quaked and the curtains
of the temple were torn. Filled with amazement the Roman soldier watching everything happening
exclaimed truly this man was the son of God. Wowzers! Just like the Roman soldier
there's no doubt in my mind that Jesus is the son of God. Me too! So this Easter remember
Jesus gave his all to save us. Happy Easter!
