Hi boys and girls and welcome back to Graceville where God's love is everywhere. It's me
Pastor Anastasia and I'm so super duper excited that you've joined me today as we learn more
about our best friend Jesus. Today's special feature comes to us from right here in the United
States where my friend Ezra has prepared a beautiful piano selection just for us. Let's listen in.
That was awesome. Boys and girls remember if you want to share your gifts and talents for
Jesus please ask your parents or guardians to inbox me and I'd be happy to share with our friends.
Hey there you are I was just about to check in on our friend Ryan from Canada. I heard he has
something amazing to share with us today at nature time. Come along with me. Hello boys and girls
and welcome again to nature time at Graceville. Today our friend Alex is going to share something
really exciting with us. Let's tune in. Hi my name is Alex and I'll be talking about canaries.
If you ever go into a pet store you'll find a lot of different type of pet birds.
Maybe you'll even find canaries there. They're pretty birds that have bright yellow feathers.
Best of all they're one of the most popular type of birds kept in captivity because they have
beautiful voices. Well men who worked in coal mines appreciated canaries for more than their singing.
Years ago coal was one of the most cheapest ways to heat homes. Men called coal miners got coal
out of the ground using hand tools and explosives. It was a dangerous job because sometimes there
were deadly gases. Coal miners discovered that these bright yellow birds canaries were useful
to detect these dangerous gases. When the air was pure the birds could sit up straight on its perch.
When the carbon monoxide was there the canaries would start to sway back and forth on its perch.
If that happened the miners would hurry to get out of the mine before it was too late.
To keep themselves safe the miners kept their eyes on the canaries. Sometimes kids keep their eyes
on classmates or music and movie stars or even video games but the best place to keep your eyes
on is Jesus. There's a verse in the Bible that talks about keeping your eyes on Jesus. The verse
is found in Hebrews 12. It says let us keep looking to Jesus he is the author of faith
he also makes it perfect. Goodbye. Wow Alex that was amazing and remember if you guys have something
to share with us make sure to tell your parents or guardians to contact Pastor Anastasia. Bye boys
and girls thanks for tuning in see you next time. And we're back right on time to check in on Nico.
I wonder what he's up to today. Let's go. Hey Pastor Anastasia we're having a program for the kids
at my church and I get to bring a friend. That sounds great. Yeah I'm really glad Jason come
because his family is usually too busy to go to church so this is a really really big deal. I just
really hope he decides to follow God. Me too. Life is so much better with Jesus. Surrendering to him
and following him is the best decision ever. Wait a minute that reminds me of our theme for this week
which simply says choose to follow Jesus. Let me hear my little friend in India say it. Hi friends
but this week the theme is choose to follow Jesus. And our memory verse is found in Deuteronomy 13
verse 4 and it simply says it is the Lord your God that you must follow. Let me hear my friend
in Iran in Florida say it. It is the Lord your God you must follow. Deuteronomy 13 verse 4.
Everyone have a good day. Great job everyone. I know that following Jesus is great and all but
what if he has just too much to do and can't fit Jesus in? When we choose to follow Jesus and put
him first he has a way of working everything out. That's why today's story is about a fisherman
whose choice to follow Jesus completely transformed his life. Can you guess who today's story is about?
A fisherman who followed Jesus?
Oh I know this one pastor I'm going to stay here. It's Peter. That's right Nala today's story is about Peter.
As Jesus walked along the seashore of Galilee a crowd of people came to listen to his inspiring
teachings about God. He noticed two empty boats nearby. One of them belonged to Andrew and his
brother Peter. They were very busy washing their nets after a long time out fishing.
Wanting to be where everyone could see and hear him Jesus asked Peter to take him out on the boat.
When he was finished he instructed Peter to launch out into the deep for a big catch.
Obediently Peter did as Jesus asked. To his surprise he caught more fish than his net could
hold. Filled with shock and amazement Peter turned to Jesus. Don't be afraid Peter follow me and I will
make you a fisher of men. Immediately he left everything and followed Jesus. Wow how amazing
Peter left everything that he was doing just to follow Jesus. Most definitely Peter's life and
countless others were changed for the better because of that decision. Remember we're always
blessed when we choose to follow Jesus. Boys and girls if you want to see more videos from
