I don't know if showing how I do it might actually inspire someone.
But you know, I'm in law school and I'm a working law student, and I just gave birth last year.
I am 30 years old, and they told me it's easier to forget things when under anesthesia; I got an epidural, and I can truly say that's true.
The things I'm showing you work for me. I'm not encouraging you to do the same, as we have different study habits, but this really works for me.
As I said before, I'm already in survival mode during law school. I can't wait for the day I can officially resign from work and focus entirely here.
I can't afford it yet, but anyway. So, as I was saying, I have this code here. I also use this, and then from the syllabus, that's where we'll realize.
I also do my reviews, but sometimes it's just impossible. I really can't plan ahead.
Now I have time since I got home early from work, and then our admin law class ended quickly.
It was only until around 8 pm. So I just had a quick bite, and now it's 12 because some work came up earlier.
I can't do it. I can't ignore it either. So yeah. So I use Azure. I realized it too much there because it has the digest, summary, timeline, and full text, but I think this is AI-based.
It's AI-powered, just like any other AI-driven case, but the key difference here is that it only gives you a glimpse, so don't rely on it too heavily.
I have this professor, wait a sec, let me just wrap it up. I've already taken my tripod to speed things up.
We have a professor. She's a judge, and she's not a working student, but rather a full-time employee. She studied. She's full-time.
Then he told us, which I agree with, sorry, which I agree with, he said the cases really couldn't be finished.
Come on, let's be honest, you can't cover 20 or 24 cases in a 2- to 3-hour class. It's impossible, even just one case alone,
The recitation took 30 minutes, and sometimes 2 to 3 students are called for recitation, so it's simply impossible.
What I've mostly seen is that it's between 10 to 15, but once you reach 15, the professor is truly an idol.
But I really don't see that all the time. The absolute maximum is 10 minutes. Sometimes, on average, during a 2-hour class, it's 8 to 12.
So it's really important to work smart, not hard. Like in my case, I'm a working law student, so I really can't handle it.
I'm swamped too—I'm also juggling being a mom, so it's tough. So these are the things that work for me.
I'm not saying it'll work for you, but this is really all I use or do for survival.
I have a friend who told me, "Codal is still very much alive." So I live by that. As much as possible,
If I have a provision, I read it. I'm not good at memorization, so as I progress,
because of your retention, due to repetition, dude. But not word for word. But as you continue with your studies,
You'll definitely get used to it. But in my case, I won't, because I'm just not good at memorizing.
What I do, whether online or in person, I'll just share how I prepare for my readings. It's 12 a.m.
So usually, I bring out my meme aid. Then, for the syllabus, I just annotate it like this.
You handle whatever format you want. It's messy, but that works for me. And this is where we are now. This is where the case ends.
As stated in Commissioner vs. Standard Chartered Bank, that's our case. According to the attorney, the coverage is reportedly 24 cases.
What I do is subscribe to JUR. I've already entered all the cases. As much as possible,
What I do is, I'll first get the full text here. Or you can download it. But in my case, this really works for me.
So I subscribed here. I don't know how much exactly. 150? 200? Not sure. But that's it, that's the full text.
I'll read that. And me, I really do full-text processing. Because he's truly retained.
Now, we all know not everything there is readable. So that's where this comes in. There's nothing we can do about it. That's just how it is.
The video got cut off. So yeah, as I was saying, for me, for the past two to three years since I've been in law school, it's been pure survival mode.
My study habits are just so different. Like, my partner, my spouse—what she likes is studying through mind maps.
That's exactly how I am. Very tech-savvy, very digital, very meticulous in my case. The way I do it, I rely heavily on the syllabus.
Anyway, I'm aiming. Then, the cases I lay out are usually the ones I actually finish. Honestly, the luckiest part is that I end up completing them.
But on average, the most I can actually read is up to 8, because of my work schedule. Only up to 8.
After that, the rest is what I'll read while I'm still in the car, I'm parked like this.
But the only thing I actually read, on average, is 8. So I'm already satisfied with that. Sometimes, I don't read at all because of work.
Yeah, I have a subscription to Drew—it's my favorite. They already have full-text available. But please, I've seen this several times already.
He didn't grasp it; the ruling was wrong in the full text. The issue he raised, I don't quite understand it.
But you'll find it in the full text. Of course, naturally. So don't rely too much on AI or on the digest.
Yeah, as I was saying earlier, before I got cut off, there's a judge who's coming, and he's the one who keeps saying that we really can't possibly finish all the cases assigned to us.
And most of the professors, they were law students once too. They know that. But it's part of the training. It's part of the journey.
So, he told us, just prepare a digest; or if you don't have time, read it. If you can't manage the full text, just read the digest.
That’ll help you survive law school during recitations—when you’re completely unprepared, at least you’ll have something to look at.
Okay, just read it. Even if you only cover three to five paragraphs, you'll see the issue, then proceed to the ruling. You'll have an answer.
That's totally true. I completely agree. And especially if you're a law student, it's extremely hard. It's really, really hard.
Even with myself, I don't know how I'm managing law school. Maybe because this is truly what I want to achieve in life.
But it's so hard. Sometimes I think about this. Earlier, in admin law class. Well, there were only 10 cases, since the session was only two hours long.
There are only 10 cases assigned. Ayun, that's really it. I thought I read 7 there. Then, while others were reciting, I read the remaining 3 in full text.
That's why, you know. Just be aware, you'll definitely be laughed at if you're called out or something like that.
I don't know. As much as possible, if I don't feel like reading it, I won't force myself to read it.
But for the sake of being able to recite it, I'll read the cases. However, after class, I'll make sure I can read it no matter what.
If you're a working student, the schedule is really tough. Even in my case, where I have a hybrid setup, it's not that easy.
I'm telling you, it's not hard. So you have to really work smart. Work smart in how you manage your readings, your time.
Yeah. And me too, I can't help myself from being on social media because I feel super stressed about work. And I try to browse.
But yeah, that's what works for me. I'm not saying you should follow it because we have different study habits.
Some people just enforce how they should study. We're all different. In my case, I'll cram regardless of whether it's a physical copy or an e-book.
And then I'll go digital and just skip it. If not, I'll try using MemAid since I use it, and it works for me.
That's the part with the concepts. I try to memorize and understand them there. Then, you refer to the syllables to figure out what the professor is looking for.
And try to read, as much as possible, try to read the entire text. I only realized this recently, because actually, back when I was in my first year, first semester.
Wow, I just realized that reading the full text makes the concept much easier to understand.
I just realized it last semester. I told myself that it's really okay not to force yourself to finish all the readings.
If you insist on making him disappear, your understanding isn't that deep. And then, I'd rather just have the quality I've skimmed through like this.
That's how it is. And then, suddenly, I had no choice. I still depend on digestion so that if called upon during recitation, I can say something.
And then, there are classmates who would give you notes. I value them as well.
So yeah, I'll show you how I am. I'd say, let's do a come-along study with me type of vlog, and whatever I can insert.
Right now, due to the war, the oil price increase, the high heat index, and the extreme heat, we have shifted to online classes.
And I've just finished the Holy Week break and I'm still in the hangover stage. And even a professor.
So, yeah, what we're going to do now is kind of shift gears, but not officially, since he's still being discreet.
But there is already a memorandum issued by the LEB. So I am truly grateful for that.
Even though I'm fortunate enough to have a job that allows me to balance both, it's still not that easy.
That's why I'm trying my best to fit in vlogs like this. I really want to look back on my journey.
Yeah, it's really late—what time is it? It's almost 1 a.m. Technically, I haven't even started anything yet.
It's 10 a.m. and I have a glass taper. I feel like I'm still looking for my tears.
My God. I just got out of being sick. Like, I'm really taking it easy this weekend.
Rest, okay. Spend time with my partner. Because the pain here is unbearable, it's so painful right here.
And even though I was in pain, I still did a 30-minute home workout. I'm trying to lose weight.
My current weight is 60 kilograms. My weight before I got pregnant was 53 kilograms.
When I was pregnant, I reached 69. Of course, there was obviously a baby.
But I'm trying to lose 10 kilos. I'm 60 now. I want to reach a weight between 50 and 53 kilos.
When I was breastfeeding, my period came back at 57. And I thought it would come regularly.
When I stopped breastfeeding, I felt like I regained that same energy again. Now, I'm back to 60 kilos.
And it feels so heavy. That's how it is. But I'm trying my best to exercise.
It's tough. My body was so sore from being sick and the home workout. That HIIT workout I did was amazing.
And I knew it, if this continues, maybe we'll say twice or thrice a week for workouts. I hope by September.
Even just my 53 kilos before, I want to get back to it. My goodness, I feel so heavy.
Besides, I always wear black. Honestly, I just really don't like my current body.
But there's nothing I can do about it because I'm pregnant, and you'll really gain weight when you're pregnant.
I'm just trying to get rid of that. I've been with OMAD for a week. You guys are amazing.
So yeah, let's stick to whole foods for now. Then, the actual food intake is needed. Anyway, that's it.
I need to take care of some work tasks and prepare later for a bit later.
This is how I approach my reading. I'll be adding class law later, and these are the cases we'll cover.
It's only a two-hour class, so there are some concepts in it. And we also have previous cases.
So I put that on my notes. Then I go to the drawer. I have a subscription here.
And the reason I like reading my cases here is that I load them up. Ayan. So those are the six cases we have.
Then the others from last time that haven't been addressed yet. I think there were four cases. I've already read about them.
So I load them up here. So you have your digest, summary, timeline, full text.
And since this is a full text, you can browse it easily. So it should truly be a full text whenever possible.
So there he is. He's already written here. Then you can just do your note-taking afterwards.
That's how I do it.
I just wanted to show you.
In school. I made it. No, we're way too far. I'm 15 minutes late. But wait a second.
That's my campus. The school. Okay. The parking lot.
We made it to school. And since this is the school vlog. Okay. It's 6:15. I'll just fix my things.
And I made it to class. This is a two-hour class. But I have six cases waiting for me.
Then there are, I don't know if the last one will be addressed. But there are 6 new ones.
Only three left. There are still three more I have to read. So I don't know how I'm going to survive that.
I'm still struggling with the work. I shouldn't have to beg. I should be on time.
But let's go. Let's do this together.
I'd say, well, I mean, okay. Wait a minute.
Serve me, please. Because when I sat down, right after, maybe the third time, I was called again.
So there. I was really scared too. I was, ah! Is that it?
I didn't see you, actually. Because I didn't finish my readings for the day.
But I've seen it, I just haven't had many cases. More on concepts.
The attorney is at the pagoda. He comes from the House of Representatives. So he's from PC.
She said she was leaving early, and she was already going home 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
So now I'm back home. And let's look for something to eat.
Unfortunately, I have a meeting at Malis Nito. She said it's here, even though I haven't arrived yet.
Thursday and I'll just go back to work.
But now I'm going to do my reviews for tax law class tomorrow. Just online, okay.
So I have time.
For tax law class, it's until 9 p.m.
So often, as many as 24 cases are given.
But during class, we're only allowed a maximum of 15.
Could he really have reached it?
So I think a good 10 to 15 cases per day. Okay naman.
I'm going to load up my cases at work.
Moreover, our way of teaching professors the concept.
Merong professor's cases.
May professor, just the topic in his outline.
The syllabi are really detailed.
So different from law school.
Just some variations on how they do it.
My schedule.
I'm supposed to go to work.
I said this.
Moreover, if you're a working law student, you get a job with a high bid.
Or a peer working from home.
