This is a video detailing the procedure to set the OCEAN REGION (Satellite) for the SAT - C TERMINAL.
The procedure is a must do if you have to receive EGC messages en-route.
Hope this helps you in your future.
Good evening, this is a sat-c terminal of the Furuno type.
So, you have to select the nav area and med area. Also, you have to select the ocean region
to find the satellite that is available for you when you're traveling all around the world. So,
once you have left the AOR or POR or any of the four satellite regions, the next satellite
can either be selected automatically or you can log in manually. So, how to do it is you press
options that is F7 key. You can see ocean region. You just press enter and all the ocean regions
comes up. So, either you can put it in auto mode or if you want to log in, you can just go to the
one you want to go, press and press start. So, you can see it is re-tuning. So, once it is
re-tuning, it will automatically log into the one Pacific one because I had selected Pacific
and this is the area of the Pacific satellite. So, it is already synced with the network
center. This is how you select the ocean region for a sat-c. Thank you.
