Today I'm taking you to the biggest flower festival in Korea. Let's go!
Hey guys! Today I wanted to take you with us outside of Seoul. It's not too far because it's
in Ilsan which is around like an hour maybe by train. My boyfriend was craving Dakgalguksu
which is a chicken kalguksu and we are going to the best restaurant that serves this in Ilsan.
We arrived. It's this restaurant. No matter what time, what day we come, there's always a line.
They don't have a break time but we usually come around 2 p.m to avoid like the crazy lunch time.
The restaurant is very huge so the line goes very quickly anyways but today I think there's no line.
Well I think it's the first time that there is no line. Yay! I love kalguksu so much and this
one reminds me of home because it's with chicken. It's based on chicken. It kind of reminds me of
raw soup. It's a polished chicken soup. I love coming here and I love eating this but yeah no
line. Oh no there's a little line but usually the line is like outside but this time there's just a
few people in front of us so maybe like 10 minutes wait max which is amazing. This is a Korean style
sitting so you sit on the floor that's why you have to take off your shoes. In this restaurant
there's only one dish so you just have to sit down and tell them how many portions of the dakgalguksu
you want. That's it. It's very simple. I know it can be very intimidating sometimes to order in Korea
but this restaurant is very easy. On the menu there's also extra rice, coke and cider which is not
alcohol. It's sprite basically. That's it. Look at this beauty. Oh and it smells amazing. Let's eat!
This one has also the... what is it called in English? I'm not sure but
this and mochi which is like cooked chicken. So good. We just arrived at the festival. Today
the weather is not the best to see flowers but I just wanted to see as soon as possible because
this festival is open until the 10th of May so definitely check it out before that. You know
this festival is held every spring in Ilsan Lake Park which is one of the largest artificial lakes
in East Asia. Wait I don't know much about Ilsan but what is that? Is it like a water park?
Is there a water park in Ilsan? Oh my god we need to check it out. I didn't know.
Well there's so many places in Korea that I have no idea about and I still have no idea about
so if you guys have any hidden gems that you would want to recommend for me to visit
please write it in the comments. Actually we always go to Ilsan for the kalguksu and pizza.
There's also a very good pizza place but I've never been to this lake.
Fun. It's a huge park so to be honest I'm not sure where all the flowers are
but we just found the lake. It just feels very peaceful here. There's so many dogs around and
like older people walking. I love this vibe because I feel like here in Korea a lot of
older generation is very active whereas in Europe you don't see them as much or maybe in like
or maybe just in Poland. I can't speak about the whole Europe of course.
There's a lot of families. It's actually so nice. It kind of reminds me of Hyde Park in London
just like very nature-y. I love that. I think we found the festival finally. We walked like crazy
but it was totally on the opposite. Wow, so beautiful. Wait, look.
It's so beautiful. Yeah, I found it. It's just on the other side. Just imagine the sun, you guys.
That would be like 10 times more beautiful in the sun but I love spring in Korea. I don't know
if it's free but we figure it out. And this hole is information. Okay, it's quite huge.
My mom planted some flowers but because we have a huge dog she always bites everything so basically
every single flower has like a little protection so that the dog cannot touch it and it just looks
ridiculous but you gotta do what you gotta do. The normal price is 15,000 won. I don't know
what that means. I assume it's like for kids and maybe elderly. Wow, I love these flowers.
That is so gorgeous. Can we have a garden like this in the future with a big fountain and then
just flowers around? We could just have our house on the other side. One can only dream.
A little rain. Wow, so wet. Wow, look how beautiful this is.
Wow, this is my flower. It's a margaret flower. I think we're in the Netherlands right now.
Look at this. But I really want to see the tulips. I think it's on the other side.
If only I didn't kill every single flower that I own, I would buy something. I love
having flowers at home. Every single time I had a plant at home back in Poland,
I used to kill everything. I forgot to water them and because my room was so hot they just died.
Even cactus. I even killed a cactus, you know? It's insane. Anyways, there's a flower therapy.
That's very interesting. Oh yeah, it starts to rain. Come here when it's sunny.
Okay, change of plans. It's raining like crazy and it wasn't supposed to rain today,
so we didn't bring any umbrella. I just want to see the field of flowers and then we can go.
Okay, yes.
It feels like a water bomb all over again or BTS all over again. Why every time I want to film
something, it's raining? I'm working during weekends and almost every time weekend, it's like
the most beautiful weather, very sunny, not too hot. The air is just amazing and then
the moment Monday comes and I'm finally free to go out, this is the weather.
Thanks. Hey, do you want to sit at the little colorful chair? It's a bit wet.
Do you like Poland? He actually can speak a little bit Polish. Come on, show them what you've got.
One more.
This is so random. This is the first thing he actually learned in Polish
and he can sing Stolat. Show them. Come on. No. This is the first one. Come on. You start.
I really wanted to see the tulip, but you can see it in Songsu, not Songsu. You can see it in
Seoul Forest as well, I think. We saw it a few years ago. It's very windy now. I hope you can
hear me properly, but I really wanted to see a huge field of flowers. Don't get me wrong,
he's very beautiful, but I just wanted to imagine this huge... Yes, I know, and they're very
beautiful. We probably missed half of the things that's happening here, but it started raining
and they're actually closing very soon, so come in the morning. I think it's going to take...
Be careful behind you. I think it would take a really long time to see everything, so definitely
come in the morning. We're gonna go back now. I actually found another place with... It's a huge
hill of flowers, exactly what I wanted to see, but it's in a different place. I'm going to take
you there in this video, so don't click away. I told you I'm fast. 17. Now we're going to the...
Actually, I saw it on Instagram. Now we're going to the field full of flowers.
It's springtime here. It's actually really hot today. By car, it actually takes 15 minutes,
but you know, if you take like metro... If you take metro and change three times, it's an hour,
so it's literally the same if you take a car or metro, so actually it's really convenient to go
there. I think we still have to wait like a week for this to fully open. Maybe like a week.
I'm so out of shape. I think the stairs are the worst. I kind of prefer the stairs at the
gym at this point. Oh, it's so hot. I don't know why Korea got super hot nowadays,
but yeah. From here, you can see this view. You know, we had this one Polish guy coming to
the bar that I work at. He spent like four months in other huge Asian cities,
but when he came to Seoul, he said like he likes it the most because everywhere else,
there was literally no greenery. Of course, he was talking about the huge cities, right?
There was like no trees, no greenery whatsoever. The first thing he did coming to Seoul was just
going to the park. He said like it reminds him the most like other European cities, so he said
like Seoul is closer to European cities than any other Asian cities cities he visited, and I think
it's kind of true. Like I feel the vibe as well. It's like the closest to what I know personally,
but maybe that's why it just feels like home to me. In like a week when all the flowers will open,
it's Sunday, so it's a lot of people, but honestly, the place is quite big,
so you don't really feel it that much, and I'm so happy I came here. I love nature. You can like
smell the flowers. So nice, and it's actually, we took a car, but we spent like 30 minutes just
looking for parking because it was just everything was closed, so I think in this case, it's actually
better to come with metro. You literally just change a few times, and the metro station is right
next to this park, so definitely recommend coming here if you have a little bit of time.
