I need to cover the latest product launched from Remarkable.
Our mission is to help you think better.
Millions of people turn to Remarkable when they need a place to think.
Today, we're super excited to bring better thinking to even more people with Remarkable
Paper Pure.
Pure.
Our best black and white paper tablets.
Think the suspended paper?
Think again.
It's Remarkable Paper Pure, a paper tablet.
It lets you capture how you think, write, sketch, refine your ideas with digital powers,
and keep the thought going on your laptop.
It helps take care of the work so you can do your best thinking.
The new Remarkable Paper Pure, made for thinking.
I like that sleeve.
Any more information?
Let's take a closer look at Remarkable Paper Pure.
It has the same advanced paper-like writing surface as Remarkable Paper Pro and Remarkable
Paper Pro Move.
It even supports the same marker and marker plus.
Those are expensive.
Compared to Remarkable 2, pages turn twice as fast.
The display has 20% more contrast, and the battery lasts 30% longer.
Take notes for one hour a day, and it lasts up to three weeks.
It weighs just 0.79 pounds, or about as much as a good paper notebook.
You can take it anywhere with the new sleeve folio, created exclusively for Remarkable Paper
Pure.
Available in three fresh colors.
Remarkable Paper Pure simplifies the tasks you do at work every day, like reviewing documents,
taking meeting notes, and sharing your thoughts with others.
Use any of the dozens of built-in templates to get started.
Import documents and mark them up in piece, and AI will summarize and suggest helpful
next steps.
You can create meeting notes with a tab, filled with all the information you need to stay
focused.
And when you finish taking notes, send them to your other digital work tools, email them,
or share as a link.
All these and other features are available on Remarkable Paper Pure, and across our family
of paper tablets.
Yeah, this is software.
Remarkable Paper Pure is made for thinking.
It's built around handwriting, which stimulates the brain in ways that typing on a keyboard
never could.
Correct.
Here's more on the benefits of using a paper tablet from our scientific advisory board.
In the age of AI, where we have become orchestrators of outputs, rather than just producers of
it, the ability to think deeply is our true competitive advantage.
Yeah, agreed.
My name is Thomas Zwerger Ramsey, I'm a neuropsychologist and a PhD in neurobiology.
Your brain isn't a multitasker, it's a task switcher.
Every notification costs you a piece of your focus, and it leaves you productive, but exhausted.
Okay, I agree.
The best ideas aren't really found in the noise.
They live in the quiet spaces between notifications.
I'm Audrey Vandermeer, I'm a brain researcher and professor of neuropsychology at the Norwegian
University of Science and Technology in Trondheim.
When you write by hand, you touch upon centers such as learning, memory, attention, to a
much larger degree than when you typewrite.
These kind of skills are even more important in today's digital world, because we're not
producing those fine motor skills that are so important for our brain development.
To solve complex problems and reach the best decisions, we need tools that protect our
space to think.
Remarkable Paper Pure is built on a decade of paper tablet innovation.
It combines advanced digital paper technology with new software features that close the
gap between how you think and how you work.
If this is your first paper tablet, welcome to the Better Thinking Community.
The Better Thinking Community, I like that.
Just like that, I'm somewhere else, a place to think, where thoughts flow from my mind
to the page.
Work comes together, visualized, organized, realized, no matter how you think, Remarkable
Paper Pure is made for thinking.
Let's talk about the Remarkable Paper Pure.
So I like where they're going with this.
So this thing looks a lot like the Paper Pure.
It's just that it's black and white, not color, which is I think about 16 colors on the Paper
Pure.
Now, I did do a review of that one.
You guys can go check it out.
I like that the Remarkable pen and the marker.
I think that's what they're both called.
Marker and Marker Pro, something like that.
That those do carry over and work over here.
So I can tell you that right here on the left hand side, the bezel is a little bigger than
the one on the right.
So if you'll see, it almost looks like it's non-uniform.
It's a bit of an eyesore, I will say that much, because that was one of the things that
was a bit distracting about the Remarkable 2.
But when you put it into the folio, which is very nice folio, by the way, it looks more
legit.
But it also serves as a way to hold the tablet properly.
The thing is, once you see the way the Paper Pro, I need to keep these terminology straight
forward, man.
And I'm exhausted, so I'm going to try to keep it up.
So the Paper Pure, once you see the differences, you'll see that maybe the other one's a lot
more refined than this one because it's a lot easier on the eyes and it's at least more
thought of.
But overall, I love these tablets all together.
They're not the only ones in the E-Ink display space.
It's just that when it comes to the, I guess, the application of it, the execution of it,
I believe Remarkable is one of the most thought out ones out there.
Unfortunately, there is a price to pay with that thoughtfulness because these are not
cheap at all.
But I think these are all just the overview.
So here we go.
They really compared to the Remarkable 2.
So I am right in the sense that this is the next generation upgrade to the Remarkable
2.
I did have somebody chime into YouTube not too long ago asking me if they should wait
for the next product from Remarkable or upgrade now to the Paper Pro.
So the Pro is the one that I have and well, I guess to kind of highlight it, it's right
here.
I do have the second camera for today's stream.
So I will show you what that looks like.
It's just that when I answered the person's like, look, when you're dealing with E-Ink,
the specs are very different for spec cats when it comes to tablet stuff.
So the overall experiences they were mentioning here really comes down to just how the contrasting,
the battery, and maybe the thickness of the product was going to be, how that would change
the experience versus having the Remarkable 2.
The Remarkable 2 is a very thin device, what it is.
I think it's a little heavier than a pound.
I don't have it on me, but I always carried it with the folio.
I wouldn't just carry it without it because I was just concerned about breaking it.
And I never felt that it didn't last that long.
It had at least a two week battery life.
I edited all my books that you see over my shoulder here.
I edit them on the Remarkable 2.
Since then, though, with the upgrades, with the operating system and the integrations
to cloud services like OneDrive, Dropbox, and I think Google Cloud.
I have to check that.
You know what?
Let me find out right now because I don't remember what integrations.
Integrations are Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive.
So I was correct.
So those are integrated now, and I use all of them.
And that's good because one of the things that people wanted to experience,
which is why I always carried a note everywhere I went,
is because of that integration with cloud services
to be able to pick up seamlessly somewhere else.
And there are services that Remarkable does offer,
such as Connect, where it was able to do that on their own cloud service.
But this is a little beyond that because now you're
being able to integrate with what you already have existing.
It's just that you've got to be sure to be connected to a Wi-Fi network
because, as far as I know, none of these devices have a modem.
So there is no 4G LTE or 5G versions of these tablets.
And I'm assuming at some point sometime in the future,
depending on the demand for it, especially with enterprise
because they have a business section for these now,
that's where you might see it come in handy.
But overall, you were still able to transfer documents
or have a more connected experience because they
do have a web desktop, not a desktop, but a web app.
They also have applications for Android and iOS
in conjunction to what you have on the paper experience,
the Remarkable experience.
These things are pretty pricey.
I think the starting price for this is $399.
But this whole thing about now being able to do,
like using writing tools,
we can erase, move and improve and things like that.
You can convert handwriting to text.
You can organize shapes, notes.
The templates weren't free.
So I need to see, did they have it here?
Yeah, templates for everything from weekly planners
to notebooks with lines or grids,
have a gentle nudge when you need it.
Give a gentle nudge when you need it.
So there's a simple way to get started.
See which templates and get even more
when you subscribe to Connect.
So the service is still around
and that's one way to go about it.
Is it because sharing is carrying writer's sketch by hand?
Then turn it into type text for email, Slack or Miro,
powered behind the scenes by AI.
Some of these features need a Connect subscription.
So I'm assuming the AI part has to be the Connect subscription.
I'm just curious, what AI are they talking about?
Because I didn't hear like a gotcha phrase
that's summarizing it. Are they using Chat GPT?
Are they using OpenAI?
And I really like these folios.
They've always been forward thinking with the folios,
but this one's kind of geared more to the younger crowd,
I feel.
And it just gives a more personalized feeling to all this.
It starts at $399.
If you get the bundle,
which includes the marker and the sleeve folio,
you get it for, wow, only 50 bucks
for the marker plus and the sleeve folio?
Dude, that's awesome.
Because these things by themselves are expensive, man.
So these are the markers.
Okay, look at that.
They start at $79.
Then the folio is $69.
And $399 for the paper pure,
but for $50 more they'll include the marker plus
and the sleeve folio.
Man, that is a really good deal
because these two combined, what is that?
Like 80 bucks and then 70, what, $150?
But you're saving a hundred bucks off all that?
Yeah, that's totally worth it
because I didn't get those benefits when I was buying them.
There was a bit of a discount,
but nothing that sizable.
This is a fabulous company.
I really do like them.
I anticipated them to incorporate some form of AI
and it was going to be more along the lines
of just helping you get your notes sorted
and organized and things like that,
instead of being an actual assistant
that's constantly interrupting and that kind of clippy.
I like clippy from back in the day,
but that's what I think it was going to be.
And that's exactly what they implemented.
