Although hair clippers have become ubiquitous in all barbershops and salons the world over, there is still a romantic edge to traditional scissor cuts. We would never seek to do away with their electricity powered cousins, but we think shears deserve their day in the sun this summer. Here are seven of our favorite tasteful trims. Just as how you would need different tools for different occasions, you also need different pairs of professional hairdressing scissors depending on the type of haircut. Not all hairdressing tools are the same. They are designed with different materials and features to help you achieve the desired hairstyle with professional results every single time. Let’s check out the different types of scissors that we offer for popular haircutting techniques!
THINNING AND TEXTURISING
As a hairdresser, you will probably encounter a lot of clients with thick and coarse hair that request to thin and texturise their hair. Using your normal tool to cut voluminous hair is a no-go. You’ll need professional hairdressing thinners that are specifically designed for texturising.
Thinner scissors usually have teeth or notches on one side, while the other side is a smooth blade. Using thinners ensure that there is less damage for the hair compared to using razors to thin out the hair. We offer a wide range of thinning and texturizing scissors which are designed to give you a clean and precise haircut every time thanks to the premium grade steel.
Hey guys, Thomas Baca, barber back with another video.
You're going to see what I do here. Let's see from the very beginning.
You can see this is what I do. Yeah, pop the cape on. A couple of haters out there leaving
comments and everything and I don't know if you're a barber or not. It's like, well I know
you suck at getting hair. All right, what do you want to do brother? So I'm liking the length on
top right now and I actually want to take your advice. I want to keep growing it out on top
but what do you think is the best way to do that? I still like the mid-skin fade on the sides.
Yeah, let's rock a mid-skin fade and then as you're growing it out, we'll just
barely clean it and add some texture and have it stick. Watch. Sounds good, man. So look,
you guys see what he wants. Mid-skin fade. Let's see who, uh, RJ Carter, shout out to you. Thank
you for watching the videos. Most of your comments are cool. Uh, some of them aren't
but I love whatever, like you said, you're entitled to your own opinion. But for the guys
saying some of the haircuts are trash and this and that, you're trash. You know, you don't even
cut hair so it's like, and then too also if you hear something you don't like a little bit,
you're more than welcome to come over here or whatever you want to do. It's nothing to me.
Look, if you guys are really down for these videos and you like them and everything,
subscribe to the channel. And if you're a hater, leave in a comment. Keep leaving comments. It
just helps me out. So look, you just screwed yourself. Talking about that haircut's trash
and you got a picture of Donald Duck on your profile pic. That's goofy. It also made me laugh
because I saw your Instagram story this morning when you were telling the correction officer.
You're like, bro, I don't give a ****. Oh yeah. All those misconduct reports. That ---- made me
laugh, bro. That's crazy. I was like, Jesus Christ. I started looking through them and I
said, damn, you know, I have a folder of this ----. I said, damn, you got like
******* a hundred misconduct reports. He's like, I'm the misconduct report king. I was like,
I don't think there's anyone in this state that does more than that.
But some of those write-ups you see, it's like, damn, you know, it's like,
yeah, some of them seem like some, some bullshit, but they were pretty funny.
Yeah. And what was, there was one quote in there. They had you, they had you quoted. You're like,
bro, I'm in prison. I don't give a ****. Yeah, exactly. And I could never understand that.
It's like, you want me to work for 10 cents an hour? I'm not going home. I'm stuck here.
It's like, I don't think so, dude. It ain't going to happen. It's like accommodating me,
put me in a ******* suite, put me in one of those private rooms or whatever. Yeah.
Or can I work into that 10 cents an hour?
It's like, I'll work on me and my personal growth and everything else.
And this is the new barber path and everything. So it's cool to see someone else in there, man.
Yeah. Someone else has said that too. And he's killing it too.
Guys, look, see, I get that line right there in line or not. I can do it anyway.
This is like, I'll even show you what, what I really do is hit it right here. And I come
right over here and say, okay, that two point spot is right here. Come right over here.
Pop that same, same line going around like guys. And shout out to that homie from Gallup or
our conversation. Thank you, brother. I appreciate it. Oh yeah. Come in anytime
you get a haircut and everything. If you're in the Albuquerque area, well, I'll show you
everything in the circuit that I use that way. You know, it's like, you know, I use all the
same tools over and over. It's not going to be me. You guys, some of you guys are talking ----.
So it's like, we'll see, wait, let's see this circuit. See if you have anything to say.
And watch out running your mouth too. Then I find out who you are and everything. It's like,
when you get scared and guys in the comment section for all of you, you know, followers
and the people that are in need, it's like, uh, let me know if you want to see anything. I'll
bust out, you know, whatever. Let me know what it is you like. If you don't like something,
let me know. And you know, and then might fine tune that for you. Like when he says skin fade,
I'm just going to start with this, just kind of pop this out, clean it up. You can give it
another blend at the very end. I could polish it with a razor. His homie supports us. He's
done with us. It's almost two years now. Yeah, I know. I've asked you before, but how is it?
You found us again? I forgot. Uh, Chris, Chris actually told me about you and how did Chris find
I have no idea. Yeah. I'm just wondering if he had went to the shop down the street or he was
probably online or whatever. Yeah. I think he, I think he might've found you on Instagram.
Oh yeah. Sick. Shout out Instagram. Hell yeah. Guys go run over there and follow Thomas Baca
Barber. So what's your Instagram info? Uh, B dot Lombok. There you go. Guys go follow him,
check his Instagram out. These guys play golf. They're cool. You might see something you like.
Dyson blow dryer to blow everything off. Up to the JRL clippers. Guys, these are awesome clippers.
You guys ask what I use and everything. These are fire. For the homie that asked about the shears
though real quick, there was a dude that asked about the shears. Brother, these are, you said
you wanted to do Mizutani because, uh, you know, you saw that I was using them. They're fire. They
are gas. I'll tell you which ones to get. Get these ones. These are the sword D seventeens
and these are Damascus steel. And then any sort of D 17 if you can't, uh, afford those,
then you can go with a gold pair of D seventeens non-gold. Cause I had them customly sprayed.
If you like them like that, they'll do it for you. That is one thing since day one was the quality,
quality of tools that you use in here, man. So you notice the quality of tools? Oh hell yeah.
It's like when you go to the mechanic, if he's using some cheap ----,
are you really going to trust him with your car? That's right. Nope. So you guys,
that's the point right there is even when a client says that you go to get surgery,
you're using the old mounts or whatever. It's like, Oh yeah, **** that. Oh, that's yours. Yeah.
I brought that for you, dude. And that sticker's fire. Nobody has those ones. The hologram ones
like that. There should be a few of them in there. You could have more than one, dude.
Grab two and leave me one. I'll show them. I'm going to watch guys. These are the
stickers. Have you seen these? Or I haven't seen those. Oh, that one's yours.
I have another one. Oh yeah. Oh, you can pop it on. Those are fire. Nobody has those ones.
And my thing with the stickers is I never wanted to, you know, sell those stickers. Like
when I bought all of them and, you know, paid a bunch for them and I just said,
give them away. When these guys put them on something, that's where the profit is.
That's pretty advertising though. Exactly. That's why it's like, you know,
you're going to charge me for the sticker too. It's like, give it to them. Yeah.
I got one of the old ones you gave me. I put it up on my, uh, like I have a board in my house
and people have asked me about it a couple of times. Oh yeah.
So you guys, the marketing is on the street. It's cause I'm too used to it. Yeah. Guys,
I want you to see a video of someone's hair. I might use two dollars, but
this one you're going to see for sure. It's weird too. Cause some, you know,
like that homie saying the haircut wasn't good. It's like, I wonder if he's a barber. Cause it's
like, dude, how much are you making for a haircut? It's like ******* Jesus. -------
another barber making $25 a haircut. It was before I ******* came in. It was annoying,
but it was watch hours. Keep watching. Oh, that looks sick. Hell yeah. Show it to the camera.
Watch. That's fire. Look guys. Look, there you go. Sick. Hell yeah. And what's your Instagram?
Watch. Come and tell him. **** it. So you can be watch guys. Like here, this is Pat. Watch. He's
coming over right here. He's going to shout out his IG too. He's the barber that works here too.
Sup everyone. Faded by Pat G. Sick. Hell yeah. And guys, if anyone wants a haircut and anyone wants
to walk in on a Friday, Saturdays or Mondays, he's here. You don't even have to, if you want to call
him and give him a heads up, do it. If not, just come in and see him. He's on fire. That's it.
Two instructors under the same roof. He's an instructor too. Hell yeah. Which is kind of
super neat. Tell you the quality that's in these two chairs, man. Yes. That's also a sick cape.
Oh, cool. Thank you. Yeah. Yeah. He has a bunch of capes too. And they are really sick.
That's the one thing I like is I notice every time I ******* turn around, he has a new cape.
And I don't mean every day. I mean every ******* haircut. I was like, God damn.
Turn around. It's like, that's nice. Fuckers come in and fill that freshness. Hell yeah.
You know, instead of the same cape and a ******* hundred thousand haircuts,
with me having to wash mine every ******* day. It's like, God,
have them in every different colors and everything else.
Hell yeah. I'll be sick. I'll end up getting those shirts and everything
and ******* just with the logo. No word. No, nothing. You have to ask us to know what it is.
That symbol on there.
What size shirt do you wear, Pat? 2X. Alright, sick. 2X and express shirts?
Because they're a little bit small or? I'll do a 2X and a 3X in those just in case.
I was going to just lightly lift up the skin just to have it pleasant.
I will say, I think you're the only barber that's never given you a razor, but I don't mind that.
Sick. Yeah, it's hard to trust with a shirt razor just because it's like,
it's got a. And I don't want to get nicked either, dude. I just don't like the feeling of
coming and going, you know, having tequila or whatever it is. This just spices it up.
Oh, hell yeah. And then watch. Now I could, you know, we're maintaining the length on top,
but we're also going to clean it up. That way there's something done at the top and it looks
super neat. Yeah. Because it's okay to grow it out if you want to clean it up too.
No, yeah. And that's why, that's why I said, man, I'll take your advice on it.
Wait, and you want to have a hard part with a soft part with the lineup? Yeah. I got you.
Can I even say hard part with this? I already know it's not anything. Guys, the soft part,
like what that is, is I'll show you just something real, real, uh, thin and clean.
Uh, it isn't Moses partying the ******* Red Sea and it's, you know, that type of vibe.
You'll see just real clean on him. He has a professional job, so he's able to,
you know, rock that cleanliness. And look guys, you can see I'm barely touching,
just barely going like that. I'm like, there's just a tidy this in order. What is that?
So I can let you turn the camera and watch it beat down real quick. It's like *******.
So guys, look, there's a method to everything. You see where it's at now. Now we come to the
and this makes a big difference. So I'll even show you what a difference it makes. Someone's
asked me the woman. I forget who it was. Emily, I think that said, turn the camera. I did it for
you. See, and then see, look what I'm doing for you. And that's how his haircut looks right there
before it's styled. So if you look at this, it's just his haircuts like that. And then now watch
when I blow dry style it, since you guys wanted to see how that was. It's this brush. It's fire.
And then now you can see where the cuts straight and blended guys in the camera. Look at this.
It's that cut. And look, I just come right over to this side. This allows me to style his hair.
This also allows me to, uh, uh, visualize any imperfections in there. So as I try it out,
if there's anything that I need to touch on and gloss, then I can do it at that time.
And that's another good reason to blow dry style the hair,
even to just blow dry the hair, you know, not necessarily styling it,
but to dry it out, to be able to see what it's going to look like.
Show you something. So it's, you know, real slight, but you know, it'll break out any
imperfections. So you can see right here, I can come right in and just pop that,
pop that into perfect. Look at that guys. So see the blow dryer for once it never,
and now it showed me a tiny bit of just sauce that I can add to that cut to make it perfect.
And you do no lineup, right? Or do you want to have a light lineup? I'll do a light lineup. Okay.
And then watch guys.
Know the points of where you're lining up where you're not. It's pretty, uh, pretty easy.
Make sure it shares with you guys, not to mention look for the tiny bit of an outline with those
with the straight blade, because it just every little tiny detail you have will make a *******
significant difference. So like, even on the top of his hair, I'm just gonna, you know,
even though I hit it with the Clippers guys, I'm going to lightly outline that ---- with the
straight blade. Just, you know, why Clippers only goes so far down to just keep taking your haircut
to every next level. And that's how your haircut looks better and better and better. The more sauce
you can add and, and relevant details, guys, like he didn't ask for a ******* design in the back of
his head, but it's, you know, relevant details relevant to what you're doing with all the hair,
hair around his ears or anywhere. He doesn't, he needs to be very bald around here. That way,
it's archaic and accentuated. You can see what's going on and that contrast happens and
guys working the best of the best. Dude, I like that length on top. Yeah, this length looks good.
Yeah. As it's coming in, that looks good. So what do you think? You like it? Yeah, I do.
Especially, I like how it's starting to come in back here. The way you're cleaning that up here
on the back with that line. Oh yeah. That looks sick. Even like the layer in the back guys. See,
that's what he means. That layer in the back of his hair. See how that blends and it comes
into the hard part. That's what we're talking about. Now you can see the whole overall.
Now you can see him in the whole style and everything. All right, sick guys.
