There's not much more me, Max and Chancey like than street food, and Seoul is classic for street food.
We're in the Myeongdong district. Tons of carts, tons of food, tons of options. We're gonna eat
everything tonight. In fact, I just took out 200,000 won. That's about 150 dollars,
and this is gonna buy us everything we want. Let's have a great time.
Okay, first up, check these guys out. Look, right here. It's basically fruit encased in like
sugar glass. It's super sweet. I'm not a fan, so I'm not gonna eat it, but Max and Chancey will.
The bubbling sugar, the cauldron of bubbling sugar. I've had this. I'm not a fan, but you can't hear
that, but it's literally like glass. So let's turn it over to Max and Chance to try our first item
here in the Myeongdong. I was not expecting that. It shattered everywhere. It shattered.
Holy S. Chancey, have a grape. Do you like it? I don't need, I like the fruit. I don't need all
the sugar on it, but. I hear crunching. It's so crunchy. You hear that? Yeah. Oh yeah. We can.
Here you go. Here's a wet nap. I kind of like it, but I can only eat one. Yeah, I can eat none.
This is what came off of the strawberry. It is literally like glass. Sweet, nasty, fruity glass.
Yuck. Let's go. I don't know what's going on here. It says raw chicken skewer. It's not raw. It can't
be raw. You're not eating raw chicken. Should we get one? Yeah. One spicy, please. Here we go. Watch
the flame. Get ready. I like that. That's good. They're cooked. I don't know why it says raw.
It's so good, huh? Street food is the way to go. Beautiful.
Not raw anymore. Oh, now he paints it. There we go. We'll be getting that.
That's us. I'm going to say it. That is freaking beautiful, isn't it? Let's find out if
his version of spicy is my version of spicy. Yep. Spicy? It's a little sweet. Wow. It's really good.
I don't know why it said raw. It's not. Maybe that's an option. Boys, you got to get in on this.
You're going to like it. What do you think? Oh, ----. First bite going in. It's spicy. Are you
kidding me? No, it's not bad. It wears off quick. Are you kidding me? It is spicy. It's so good,
but it's so spicy. Super good. Super good. No, it's not. Oh, my God. Back of the throat. Damn,
you got some spice tolerance, man. I know. I don't know what is your deal. That is crazy.
Really good, though. It's really good. Yeah. All right. Let's move on.
Grilled cheese. This one, please. With condensed milk. Watch this move. This is cool.
They take it. Condensed milk. Sweetened condensed milk. Oh, yeah. This is going to be good.
This is going to be good. Smells so good. This is about four bucks. Four bucks.
Is it bread or is it just grilled cheese? It's not any grilled cheese. Dude, it's going to blow
your mind. It's cheese that's been grilled. I don't know what kind of cheese it is.
You guys are going to ---- yourselves. It is so delicious.
That's one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. Oh, my God. It's so good. Oh,
it's so good. I'm excited for this. I think it's going to help kill some of the spice.
It will. It is. It helps the lips. Oh, my God. Delicious, right? This is my favorite so far.
Favorite so far? You? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Damn. I was like, hey, a couple pieces of
cheese are the same price as the chicken. That's not right. It is right, though. It's so good.
Let's go, boys. It's not 100% street carts, though. That's why we're here. But there's
restaurants like this upstairs. You can do that. Or there's stores like this,
Zio Zia, or there's this kind of stuff. I mean, who doesn't want a peapod with little,
you know, faces inside? But this is not why we're here. We're here for this. Come over here,
bulgogi. So two things. First is gimbap. So it's seaweed is the gim part. This has vegetable
inside. Looks delicious. Crunchy. Seaweed. It's really good. And you can look in here. Look,
there's carrot. I don't know what that is. Yellow pepper. Maybe. Delicious. Crunchy. Great.
Here, bulgogi. Beef bulgogi. Marinated beef. Thinly sliced. Vegetables and these glass noodles
underneath. Really nice, perfect bite. Let me do my best Mark Wiens for you. It's going to be like
this. Oh, boy. Boys are going to love this. Steamy, hot, super delicious. Absolutely fresh.
The vegetables are still crunching in here. This was max 8,001. Seven bucks. Seven bucks. And this
was right another couple bucks. It's all good. All good. All good. All good. I'm not sure if
you've seen our smash month episode from right here where I made smash burgers at Miss Ann and
Mr. Park's carts. We'll get them going. Then we'll start the burgers and burgers here. How fun is
this? But now it's our chance to get some stuff from them. Oh, excuse me. The Myeongdong gets busy
at night and that's what makes it fun and delicious. Well, busy doesn't make it delicious,
but. So from Miss Ann, we have three things. One of them is fish cake that I know is not everybody's
cup of fish cake, but oh, I love it. And despite the name, it is not fishy. It is so just tender
and delicate. It's like a thin crate with a nice little broth underneath. We're also getting kimchi
jeon. It's like a thin sort of pancake with kimchi in it. And men do these little beef dumplings.
You gotta love this place and you have to love Miss Ann and Mr. Park. They're fabulous. Look at this
smile. Welcome to Korea. Kimchi jeon. They think of it as a kimchi pancake.
With scallion. It's light. It's flavorful. It's fantastic. And these little baby meat dumplings.
Oh my gosh. She's a master. That's what she is. By the way, kimchi is one of those things like
what doesn't it make better? Kimchi. We put that ---- on everything. Next up, roast the lobster
with cheese. It's more like grilled lobster with cheese. Let's see what happens. They put the cheese
on top and it's in the little oven. So the last time we were in Seoul, we had this from one of
the little carts and it was decidedly uncooked. I mean, it was cooked, but it was not cooked enough
and it was like rubbery and kind of icky. So fingers are crossed that this is better. This is
the most expensive thing. This is 20,000 won and it's how much? Max is 18 bucks. Max is the
calculator for us. He went to college. I didn't. It looks good. And is it pieces? Oh yeah. Look,
this is fully cooked this time. She's sexy. Cheese pull. Come on now. Yeah. This one's good.
A hundred percent cook. I don't know why I got screwed the last time. Not tonight though. She's
very nice. Thank you. It's delicious. Thank you. So two more things about this. This is actually
very good. The lobster is sweet. It's perfectly cooked. And Chancey pointed out something
interesting. Cheese with lobster. I don't think it's a combination you think about.
It just works. It totally works. Okay. So we're at the fish cake bar and look at all the options.
Original, perilla leaf, chili pepper, cheese, crab stick, rice cake, fried seaweed roll,
sausage fish cake, platter fish cake. We need the platter because the platter is going to be
a little bit of each. It's really interesting how they does this. Watch he flattens it out
and then he puts something in the middle like that. Folds it all together and then streams the oil.
So what I like is I got this one. It's got sausage. It's got crab stick. It's got cheese.
And if you just do this, pull it off. Oh, it's hot. There you go. Now you can get a
little bit of each one. Let's try the crab stick with a fish cake on the outside. I love this. And
the way they make it, they spread out the fish cake, stuff it and get in the oil. You got to
like fish cake. You got to love crab stick. This is an imitation crab, but it's still,
it absolutely works in here. It all works. So maybe the simplest thing in the whole
Myeongdong sweet potato. He calls it pumpkin. I don't know why, but it's charcoal grilled. And
you know, the charcoal is going to give it an amazing flavor. Yeah, there's nothing pumpkin
about it, but it's just really good. I feel like I'd like a little garlic aioli or something on
top of it. You should have a couple of sauces. I think it would kick it up a notch. Kick it up a
notch. Who will I become? Emeril. Check this out. It's like the Japanese pancakes. Look at the
jiggle. They do them with cream and chocolate and stuff. I didn't want all that nonsense. All I
wanted was, okay, the reality is I'm getting really full, so I didn't want all that nonsense
on top. I just really wanted to taste the pancake with the strawberry sauce. It's very nice. It's
the way to have it. All that cream, that's just BS. Do you see this? It's so light. I mean,
it really is. It's crazy. It looks like it should be like uncooked, but it's not. No,
it's good. You're going to like this, Max. Make me a bite. Oh, you're feeding him too.
Do I get to get fed? Yes. You want to be fed? What do you think? Very nice. It's super light,
right? Ready. Here comes the plane. Come on, buddy. Come on. Work for it. There you go.
Here comes the plane. I love that. It's nice. Yeah. Wow. Honey fried chicken with a potato
flake on top and little bits of rice cake underneath. So you just get one. If you can get
one. Oh boy. This is going to be hard. I got a big one. Take one bite. I love the flag too.
Crunchy. Best part is not too sweet. Amazing crunch. And the potato on top is really good.
Spicy corn fried. So I got the original, the spicy. I couldn't see how they were making it.
I guess they're cutting the kernels off and then deep frying them or something. And it's got this
spicy sauce. I know. You probably can't hear the crunch is loud. It's really good. It's crazy.
Interesting. I never had anything like this. Clumps of deep fried corn. Holy ----. Brown
cheese truffle. So Max has been peeing with excitement over this thing that he had once
before. And now is the big moment. Will it be what he remembered? Oh my God. This ----'s insane.
This ----'s insane. That's crazy. Do what she said. Did you push down? Sweet and savory. Oh yeah.
It's very rich though. You don't want to eat too much. It smells rich. I really don't want anything
sweet, man. Really? I don't think I'd get it. Really? I mean, savory. What's to get? I get the waffle.
I get like the syrup or the maple or whatever, but the cheese is kind of with my head.
Let's find out what, uh. Yes. All right. I have high expectations after Max. Damn it. I should
have moderated expectations. He's your boss. So you're going to kiss his ass and go, oh,
it's the best thing ever. No, I'd be honest. I like it. Of course you do. It's like caramel.
It does. It's like brown sugary. I think. By the way, buddy, it could have tasted like horse manure
and you'd be like, oh my God, Max, I just love this. You have such good taste in food. No,
this is freaking good. You guys, you guys are killing me. Who wants some ginkgo nuts?
Look in here. Can you see that? So they're the seed of the ginkgo tree. And I've heard,
I think that if you eat too many, they can be like toxic. It's really interesting. I don't
know how to describe this. Max is kind of like slightly chewier edamame. I really like them.
They're really good, but don't eat too many because something will happen. And I don't
want that to happen. What is it? Oh, chicken feet. D bone. How do you not end on that?
Okay. So the only way to end a night in the Myeongdong is with D bone chicken feet. Now,
before you go crazy, just let me tell you why this is genius is one of my favorite things
that dim sum are the chicken feet, but they're filled with little tiny bones. They're really
kind of a pain in the ass to eat, but now get all the best part. It's creepy AF, but it's really
delicious. It's like a Lewis foot. Not completely D bone. There's a little bit in there, but
it's a little chewy, but that's, that's chicken feet. It's a really good spice on it. Okay. Look,
he's giving you the finger. He's giving you the chicken claw finger. What are you going to have
your chance? You got me way out of my comfort zone, man. Wait, dude, why does it have a little?
It's the claw. It's not a nut sack. All the way in, all the way in. Just do it. Just do it.
Food slash sack. Dude, look at this. Eat around the sack. I'm definitely not spitting this out.
Hey, we've eaten everything we've seen almost. Now it's time to go back to the hotel,
loosen the buckle of my pants, lay on the bed and hopefully fall asleep.
