There's always at least a drive or two where we're listening to Nitecore.
I don't really touch the steering wheel because they all fight to drive.
The star of the show.
****, it's locked.
How you doing?
I'm Tristan from Bolt Cutter.
I'm Cameron from Bolt Cutter.
We're on tour with Varials right now.
And yeah, we're going to show you our bus if you can call it that.
So typically, I'm the one doing most of the day drives because I'm usually at the earliest.
And then by the end of the show and we're all packed up, I'm like ready to sleep.
So Josh and Alex back there, they'd be doing most of the night drives and all that.
And Tristan's like a backup driver.
Yeah, I don't really touch the steering wheel because they all fight to drive.
So I'm just kind of there if really nobody wants to.
That's something definitely unique to us.
We're like, we all want to drive.
And it gets a little tense sometimes.
Who's grabbing the keys first in the morning?
Or just any drive at all.
It's like, I kind of want to drive.
On this tour, we've been doing Spotify jams a little bit.
In the past, it's kind of been whoever drives gets aux.
But we all kind of have different moods and we all want to listen to different stuff.
You know, I'm putting on like jazz.
He's playing a lot of heavy metal, jazz.
It ranges a lot.
Me and Alex listen to a lot of like 90s and 2000s R&B.
Blade, a lot of rap stuff, you know.
Josh listens to a lot of punk and hardcore.
You know, just like the True Blue stuff.
But he also listens to a lot of singer-songwriter stuff.
So it's a real diverse spread.
You know, we get a lot of our reps in.
Can't forget Josh's Nitecore playlist.
Oh, yeah.
There's always at least a drive or two where we're listening to Nitecore.
Extra bass.
Yeah, sped up, bass boosted.
You know, the whole nine yards.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, we don't have any of our funny stuff in here either.
It's so early in tour.
It's not like, you know, it's not a clusterfuck in here yet, you know.
Yeah, we usually take like gigantic stacks of napkins and just store them in the
glove compartment.
Or we get a bunch of like sauces from different fast food places or whatever.
And sometimes it gets kind of heated.
So we have a label maker to put names on stuff, you know.
You don't want to like **** with someone's ranch.
As you can see here, just to remind everyone how to drive, we put steering wheel and left
and right so you know which direction you're going in case you forget.
We put those on there so the driver knows what direction to turn the steering.
Yeah.
All right.
This is Josh.
If I were to guess, he's probably playing chess right now.
Am I right?
Yeah.
Don't look at my ELO.
What's your ELO?
Come on.
451, but I'm working on it.
Sick.
There's almost always a case or like a mangled case of water that we always take from the
green room at the end of the night, you know.
Hate buying them from Pilot or Flying J or whatever.
This is mine.
Some tomatoes in case I'm feeling like eating them.
As you can tell, I have not been eating my tomatoes.
So typically we always have two people up front, a driver and a co-pilot, just to keep
the driver awake or alert or whatever need be.
This area usually is occupied, you know, on our drives when everyone feels like getting
out of their bunk.
Kind of sucks laying down the whole time, so it feels good to get up and get the blood
circulating and just sit down and like chat with everyone.
This area is our sleeping area.
Chill zone.
Yeah, we call it the chill zone.
This is the chill zone times two.
The most new and improved chill zone.
Essentially, we got inspired by some bands we went on tour with a while ago.
They had built bunks and they were saving a lot of money sleeping in their van instead
of getting hotels every night.
So we decided to opt for that and try it out.
So far, it's been awesome.
We got two queens in there, so we usually just get two queens in a hotel room anyways
and just split the beds so we can save like, you know, 250, 300 bucks every night.
It'll be a lot easier for us to stay in the green.
It was Vomit Fourth that said chill zone first, right?
I think in a previous episode, I think they might have said it first.
So Josh and I built these bunks.
We got lumber from Lowe's and some brackets from Lowe's.
And the idea behind this bracket here is so that if someone accidentally slams on the
brakes, the whole mattress doesn't come flying forward, right?
But, you know, it doesn't really save whoever's on top from flying forward.
So, you know, feet first on this side, head in the back so that if someone does go flying
forward, they don't break their neck, you know.
But yeah, it's just a two by six that we just knock on wood.
That doesn't happen.
We just like drill the two by six on there.
And it's pretty sturdy, man.
We'll hit the brakes and the mattress just like doesn't fly forward at all.
It's cool.
All right.
The star of the show.
****, that's a lot.
All right, star of the show, MVP, the one and only Alex.
Yo, what's good?
It's cozy.
I mean, as I mentioned before, we had previous iterations of the Chill Zone.
This is V2.0 or whatever.
This is dope because we can fit like all four of us up here and have plenty of room for
our space up there for all of our gear, luggage, all that.
And yeah, it's cozy, man.
We got a couple of pillows, one blanket, keeps us all warm.
It's chill.
That's about it, really.
There ain't too much to it, to be honest.
It's just a mattress and a pillow.
Cup holders, chargers.
We got everything that we could need back here in these bunks.
If someone needs to charge up there, you can just route a charger or, you know, whatever.
Oh yeah, check this out, too.
We got storage space on the wheel well.
We got our $40 cologne.
You can hang your hats on here.
It's beautiful, honestly.
We got everything we need.
A couple of drinks.
It's pretty clutch, honestly.
This has been a game changer.
It's usually me and Josh up top.
We kind of, like, last tour, I feel like me and Josh always ended up, like, snuggling
up together.
And Tris and Alice kind of like to snuggle, too, so.
Yeah, we have assigned sleeping arrangements where we're all comfortable and content and
we do not deviate from the plan.
Whether it's a hotel or it is a double-decker bunk scenario, we're always in the same exact
spots, basically, for the most part.
Just makes everything easy and keeps everything familiar.
So we're in this, what is this, five foot by eight foot U-Haul.
That's right.
And usually Cam does a lot of the meticulous Tetrising work in there.
We'll kind of bring a lot of the stuff out for him as he's packing everything away safe
and sound.
I'm a notorious micromanager.
Absolutely.
And he makes sure it's clean in there and very organized.
So it's real easy for us to just load in, load out.
Everything is in its designated area.
And he's got it down to a system, essentially.
I will say, we don't have a whole lot of stuff in there this tour because I'm renting drums
from a buddy and we're sharing drums, but I'm using their hardware.
So there's not a whole lot to pack in here.
Last tour, to the brim, every night, it was stressful if we didn't put it back in exactly
how it went.
But this time, it's pretty chill.
As long as all the overstock merch goes in the very front of the trailer and then gear
and then whatever we take in for the show the next day goes in the back, it's pretty chill.
The word was ankle.
I got that one.
The word was ankle.
I did get that one, but that was for Tag Me Today, right?
Because we did it at like 2 in the morning.
Yo, Wes is coming out.
I don't want to spoil another ******* word.
Hey, the word was ankle today.
Yeah.
