Good morning and welcome to today's vlog.
We are just loading up my new 2017 Road Glide.
We are going to take this girl on an epic ride today.
We're going to take it up Highway 1 in California.
It's called the Pacific Coast Highway and it's supposed to be one of the best rides
in the entire world and I have to agree.
So we're going to get it finished, load it up here, get the scooter on in this Kuriakin
Pet Palace and we are going to hit the road.
Water is also obviously very important.
They picked up this Yeti thermos for scooters water.
I'll tell you that thing kept the water in the California sun for two days.
Kept the ice in the water.
I was never a big fan of these fancy expensive coolers.
It actually performs.
Scooter had cold water for two days with ice in it.
Alright, first stop of the day.
We've been banging up to Highway 1.
Started south of Los Angeles.
Came through all the city and now we are at the legendary Neptune's Net.
Got the scooter on my back.
Got the bike parked up and we're going to go in here and see what they got to eat.
This seafood does not get much fresher than this.
Live crab.
Live lobster.
Rich.
Filled with my belly.
We are at the Sycamore Hot Springs in, oh ----, where are we?
I don't know if it's Avila Beach or Shell Beach or Pismo Beach.
I used to live in Pismo Beach years ago and this was kind of one of the resorts where
you could go.
It's a spa.
So this is a, looks like a traditional hot tub.
Now they got hot tubs up on the mountain that you can rent that are like all wood.
But, nonetheless, this is the hot tub and this, that's hot springs water.
Smells like sulfur but it's supposed to be really good for your skin, really rejuvenating.
I'm going to shut it off because I'm not really going to fill it up because I'm getting ready
to check out.
Had an amazing night here last night.
So, gorgeous bedroom.
I mean, check out this bathroom.
It's all kind of destroyed right now because, well, I was in here.
I used it.
Talk about a gorgeous place.
Look at, a little vanity, huh?
Everything you need, right?
Look at my nose.
That's horrible.
TV, fireplace, little bar.
So this is a map of Sycamore Hot Springs.
This is the fantasy room that I stayed in.
There's where I parked.
But you can see they got all these different suites.
And up in here, all those hot tubs are all piled up in that mountain ridge.
Just piled up in the mountains.
They're all just wood hot tubs fed naturally by the hot springs right here locally.
It's a pretty cool place.
If you ever get a chance, check it out.
It's by like Avila Beach, I'm going to say.
They got a bar and restaurant, a grill.
Really everything you need.
Quite the property.
They do a great job here.
And I just love hot springs.
Scooter, what do you think of this?
What do you think of this place, buddy?
What do you think of this place?
Is it good?
Scooter liked it as well.
I am going to get all my gear together.
Pack it up, load it on the bike.
And we're going to head out.
Check out this view.
A lot of times you'll come out here.
And there'll be seals all bedded up on those rocks.
I think it's the wrong time of year for it now.
Nonetheless, this is one of my favorite places to go.
It's called Pirate's Cove.
Oh, look at this.
Pelicans.
That's a damn pelican formation.
It's Pirate's Cove. It's in Avila Beach.
It is Shell Beach, Avila Beach, Pismo Beach.
That whole area.
It's absolutely breathtaking.
Now it's a nude beach.
There's two different beaches.
There's a beach down there.
And this is the other beach.
Way down there.
It's a nude beach, but it's all natural.
It's free. It's beautiful.
I love this area.
Central Coast. It's Pirate's Cove.
And if you don't know,
now you know.
So you see these people with their sailboats?
You just park there.
It's free.
You get free rent in the most beautiful place
in the world.
At least one of them.
That's what we just came through.
So we are standing in Bubble Gum Alley.
It's in San Luis Obispo.
And for years
people have just been sticking...
Some of it has turned black.
It's almost become tar.
I don't know.
There's less as you go up.
The peace sign.
People stretch their gum out and make symbols.
For years people have been coming here
and putting their bubble gum on these walls.
And it is
pretty freaking rad.
I mean, just unique, you know?
It's one of those unique things.
It's in San Luis Obispo, California.
If you're taking the Highway 1, it's a must stop.
There's Mother's Tavern, the library,
Firestone Brewery, 805 Beer
which is a famous beer
is also here.
Boom. That's a lot of gum.
This is the dungeon.
Everywhere I've been in my entire life,
the best fried fish
I've ever had in my life.
It sits on this beautiful dish.
Scooter will only eat... Look at him.
All of a sudden now he's hungry.
They're going home.
This is how these people live, man.
They live rent free.
Parked in the bay. It's the most beautiful country in the world.
Not a bad way to live.
We find ourselves just north of
San Simeon.
This is where the elephant seals come
to breed
and I don't know. They come here for a few months of the year
every year. One of my favorite spots
on the coast to come visit.
Just littered with huge
elephant seals. It's pretty cool.
It's just north of the Hearst Castle
on Highway 1
outside San Simeon.
Scooter is barking at him a little bit.
He's having some fun.
So this is when you can find them.
So right now we've got a bunch of females
on the deck that are here
for molting.
December through March is for the mating.
That's when you get the males
into fighting.
We're not seeing much of that out here today.
Pretty neat.
