Father of the Bride Welcomes Groom Into the Family During Speech

I would like to thank everybody today for celebrating Alexis and Michael's beautiful marriage. We are incredibly grateful and happy to have you all here with us today. This is a souvenir for you. I did do it. All right. As I look around, I have to commend my daughter's impeccable, and I mean impeccable, taste. And I know, Mike, you had something to do with it too. And all of you really look nice also. Don't forget that. So right now, I'd like to officially welcome Michael and his family. Uh-oh, don't drop the cards. But the truth is, they were already part of our family the first time we met, Mike. So Mike, we love you. Alexis, of all the things I've done in my lifetime, being your father, and caring for you, and watching you grow into a woman you are, today is by far my greatest achievement. I don't think any amount of preparation can ever leave you feeling ready to give your daughter away. But if I had to choose a person to hand her to, I would choose you, Michael, every time. Now, let us raise our glass to Michael and Alexis as all of our families gain something on this beautiful day. Michael has gained a wife and companion for life. And I have gained the trust and reinsurance that my daughter will be taken care of.
