We are just at the uh trailhead. You might be able to see it back there.
The pass. Just heading out from Thompson Pass. You're on video.
Don't fall.
He wants to chase after them.
Hello.
Oh thanks. Well it's been a great day for this hike. We are almost to the original trailhead.
So normally you can drive all this way in but we've seen a bunch of skiers. Some hikers just
passed us. I'm expecting there's actually going to be some campers at the lake which just blows
my mind. But it is what it is. About 12 30. I think we started at 11 30 probably. Great hike.
Nice and warm. Sweating with this weight on and going through the snow. So it's been a great hike.
We have ditched our snowshoes. This trail is a little sketchy for snowshoes. We're sliding around
and think if we're postholing we'll be securely in the side of the hill. So all right. So we don't
know. Well I think we're off trail. I think we're definitely off trail. Here is the creek though.
Cascade Creek I believe. So there's an amazing amount of people here today.
We ran into a group of six kids coming down. A little dark over there in the north.
That big meadow. I'm sure you can't see it on the video. There's a bunch of ski lines through that.
Somebody left a little shelter. There's Revette Lake covered with snow. A little bit of water over
by that big rock. We've made it to the lake. I'm up above it a little bit. Starting to scout for
firewood. You can tell that this has been picked over. But there are a couple down trees in here.
We can limb that bad boy. And the sun's coming out a little bit. This is our shelter for the night.
Started to get dark there for a minute. But I think we got another blue patch coming.
This guy's been running all over. I think he's power napping now. Right in the center of the
frame there. You might be able to pick out the ski tracks. I doubt it. But they're there.
It is just a beautiful morning out here. Not near as cold as I thought it was going to be.
Perfect sky. You might be able to catch the moon back there. Probably not. It's about 6 a.m.
Just got up a few minutes ago. Gonna get the stove started and let's get on some coffee.
Kind of lounge around for a bit. Enjoy the sunny day and we'll hike out of here.
We are packed up. Tim's has got his pack on. Hoping to get out of here
while the snow is still hard. About 9 30. We're about to switch back. This is about the only
clear section of trail. And it feels marvelous right now. All right. We're chilling out for a
minute. Just take a little break. We're about to do the big snow field. And then we'll be pretty
close to the trailhead. Smooth sailing from there. Well, we made it back to the trailhead.
Good hike today. Beautiful day. Okay. That is that.
