Fishing 1,000' Deep Was A Huge Mistake....Until It Wasn't!

oh heck yeah check that out guys that's freaking awesome today brock and i are heading out with captain blake wyatt from fanatical charters on his invincible 33 catamaran this was basically the last cold day of 2026 in the florida panhandle and we were heading out about 50 to 60 miles to do some serious deep dropping but first things first we wanted to stop and catch some live bait before we headed out good morning guys uh we're out on a nice calm day today shocker windy light again but uh we're out with fanatical charters this blake he's the captain and we're gonna do some deep dropping today we stopped a little bit short just to try and let it calm down a bit before we go further out but we're gonna go ahead drop right here and see what happens so we started out dropping some small live baits just to see what was in the area and even though the sun was coming up it didn't feel like it was getting any warmer because that wind just kept building it should i think it's going to it's just that early morning wind there we go fish on got it little baby snapper and he swallowed it you got a big heart though i keep stealing my bait so i'm gonna drop a jig so when you're fishing all day in 600 to a thousand feet of water and you're fishing for meat electric reels are usually the way to go they're more efficient you get more drops in and they just normally result in more fish landed but i love to jig so i just had to give it a shot all right what is that we have no clue what in the heck yeah that's a three-card but after a little time jigging i realized it was not going to be productive today so i did switch back to the bait on the electric reels there we go oh it might be it is let's go baby decent scam too yeah thanks that's decent yeah that's how i planned it heck yeah pretty pretty cool i don't know what are they saying you need to bite it come on he's the big be another grouper give up oh oh no i bet it's a red snapper there's a mangrove oh that could be there's a mangrove game oh where'd you learn that i'm so proud of you people there's so much this year what do we got what do we got it's a mangrove it is a mangrove what is jittery what is it called all right they always like don't start doing that you know it's not like a trigger where it goes like that there we go all right decent little mangrove picking up oh sorry buddy ready to get plans on missed that but it's it's just a bonita thought it was gonna be something better so deep dropping is a marathon not a sprint you just keep trying different spots moving around until you find the fish there it is okay thanks i was looking at the waves oh that was damn that's a red grouper there we go i knew right away this was going to be my biggest fish of the day thanks for the hand that was gonna be a good fish but the tax man decided to show all right guys we got the bait going down should maybe be some yellow edge here rock on you look like you're about to go over oh wow that's sweet i love that i caught it that sucker wasn't coming loose this takes a lot of patience but you gotta stay focused there you go there you go nice and slow there you go out there yeah that's perfect that was on the double herring come on all right all i've got baby baby ain't got one oh yeah there we go oh let's go baby all right all right guys got a nice little yellow edge here i think like seven pounds yeah about seven eight pounds seven eight pounds it'll eat good though exactly all right we're gonna drop on down again oh that looks like a little thump didn't it yeah it was working right there above it huh all right guys we're in about 900 feet of water here got two squid and a herring on bottom oh is that something yeah that's a bite that's a nice fish dude keep going yeah yeah baby that's a nice one you're on brandon's on hey grunt pandemonium sorry baby oh did he pop off no no okay come on stay on there come on your way okay nice golden dude nice golden bro heck yeah that's like wow that's over 10 pounds heck yeah bro that thing could fit all the tile fish i've ever caught in a pound let's go feel how heavy that one is yeah that's all there check that out guys that's
