AI GeneratedThe speaker, a Republican Party chairman and certified fraud examiner, discusses a specific instance of voter fraud involving a dead person's ballot. He argues that while this case was easy to detect, more sophisticated fraud is harder to find. He advocates for in-person voting over mail-in ballots to ensure higher security and calls for the resignation of the official involved.
I commend the clerk's office up there for doing the right thing, for stopping it and
segregating it.
At least my understanding of the timeline, it did seem to take, because it's pretty blatant
when a dead person votes, that's kind of the low-hanging fruit, it did take them a while
to actually get it referred over to the state's attorney and such.
And then I also just wanted to note, it's kind of like, hey, it's a dead person voting
that you've actually aware that they're dead, is the easiest voter fraud to find.
It's kind of like somebody leaning over the cash register and grabbing the cash out of
the till.
But the complicated stuff, the behind the scenes stuff, that's something that is harder
to find.
And so we gotta make sure we still keep our eye on the prize.
This is a one-off incident, and if fraudsters do it right, it could be many, many more votes
like this.
In addition to being a Republican Party chairman in the state of Illinois, I'm also a certified
fraud examiner, and I also went through the largest voter recount in recent years in the
state of Illinois.
So I do know a little bit about how this stuff works.
When it comes to the risks, just like my discussion before, cash is riskier than, say, something
else, cooking the books in a different way.
Cash is always a higher risk thing.
Well, the same thing goes with voting, right?
In-person voting is a lower fraud risk than vote by mail.
It's just the nature of the beast.
And so you do have to put on extra controls if you're gonna have it.
And look, my mother-in-law in a nursing home or my daughter off at college, vote by mail
actually makes a lot of sense.
But we've really gone to sort of this default statement with trying to get everybody, and
I mean everybody, to vote in the riskiest format.
I mean, we actually have for a long time required election judges to work the entire day, 6
a.m. to 7 p.m., because out of the thought that if somebody came in twice, they would
recognize them, right?
And so, I mean, there are just extra controls when it comes, when in-person is just better.
I mean, think about this.
You go to the teller at the bank, right, versus trying to call in and do things.
You gotta go through several extra steps when you're just dealing with your own money over
the phone versus in person.
Look, I mean, we're, Republicans can do bad things too, and we should call them out when
they do it.
But I did find, she's an elected official, she's a Democrat.
And I will tell you, if somebody is dead to rights, pun intended, with voter fraud in
a case like this, they should resign.
They are in a position of public office and public trust.
Even if it's not related to their job, that doesn't matter.
I mean, there's things that you do that are off campus from your actual work that are
disqualifying, and this has to be one of them.
So I call on this older woman to resign.
