AI GeneratedA voter in DuPage County reports being turned away from early voting at Downers Grove Village Hall due to a county-wide technical glitch. The issue involved incorrect birth dates in the system, forcing some voters to provide extra identification. The speaker criticizes the local administration's incompetence while urging others to vote early to avoid potential Election Day disasters.
So I'm here just outside of Downsville Village Hall in DuPage County. I came over here to vote early
and I was very politely turned away by by two kind election judges. They told me that there
is a technical glitch throughout the county and that the polls are closed for the rest of the day.
They were cautiously hopeful I guess that it would be opened back up tomorrow and they gave me a card
saying that I need to follow up with the clerk's office to find out if if they are indeed going
to be open tomorrow. What I understand from talking to multiple people is that at least
at one of the locations that everybody's birth dates were wrong. Now I think when you normally
show up to go and vote you know if it says that I'm 55 instead of 58 I don't think that anybody's
going to catch that they you know they don't ask you necessarily how you know I think every time
for your birth date. But you know the one of the people this morning you know she's a person of
like my age and what ended up happening was it said she was 18 years old and they obviously took
issue with that. She ended up showing a couple forms of ID and then voted. And accordingly here
Downers Grove they had they said they had 10 people vote this morning they didn't have an issue
but that could be very well that you know the the birth dates just were not you know vastly
different from from what the error was. It sounds like from I've talked to a couple other people who
were also had to show ID to vote because the birth dates were just wrong. One gentleman he
he literally you know he had an ID his driver's license and then they need a second form of ID
and so he literally took off his dog tags from when he was in the service and he threw them
down on the table and discussed. This is just another example of you know unfortunately
unqualified Democrats running things that they have no no business running a multi-million
dollar department and that's the the issue right here. The clerk here in DuPage she even got run
out of in the primary by her own side but but this is just more of the same. It's it's dysfunction
at its worst. You know people you know they take time out of their busy day to go and vote to get
it done and lo and behold we can't even get the computers turned on right. You know what they need
to you need to find that IT support guy you know maybe what's the little guys from Best Buy and
little yellow squad cars or you know VW bugs to come in and help the DuPage County Clerk.
This is not to discourage people from voting early this is actually a reason that people need to vote
early. You know what stuff happens accidents weather computer glitches this is this is a
problem that can happen and if you end up trying to vote early and if there's a problem you do end
up having a fallback you can vote on another day. If you wait until election day what happens if
there's a problem with just your registration or if it's everybody's registration there is actually
there's no day two there's no Wednesday morning quarterbacking for these things. So I totally
encourage everybody you know go ahead and take the time out of your busy day and get try and vote
early. My mom always tries to vote early and she says because in case she dies she wants it to
count. Let's everybody be like my mom. Thanks. Bye.
