Neglected pig has heartwarming reaction when someone calls him a 'good boy' -

Every time I said he was a good boy, his tail went round and round, faster and faster. I am Michelle, and this is Marty's story for GeoBeats. Rosie's is a farmed animal sanctuary in Potomac, Maryland. We got a phone call. The man was being especially cruel to Marty. And the woman, the girlfriend, was really worried. He had made a plan for it that evening, which it's just hard to even understand. So she got Marty out, and he was handed over to some foster people in North Carolina. And I think she just told the boyfriend that Marty escaped. And so then Marty came to us. I can't wait to take care of you. He was pretty scared at first. It took a few days for him to realize that we were safe, and that our hands were for loving, and that every time we pet him it was not going to hurt. He really can wag his tail. He's a good boy! They are considered the fifth smartest animal on the planet. He's a good boy! They recognize sounds. And every time I said he was a good boy, his tail went round and round, faster and faster. He's a good boy! Pigs are very hierarchical. They all think he's the lowest, but he thinks he's on top. They put up with him, but they haven't taken him in, which is kind of sad. But Marty is very much a survivor, which is I think how he made it out of that house anyway, is that he communicated. Would that woman get me out of here? So when the other pigs kind of ignore him, he gets all his comfort from people. And from Gloria, the turkey. He also has a very good friend, our cow, who is probably about a 2,000 pound cow at this point. He's a good boy, Marty! He's a good boy! Hi, Marty. He's a good boy! He's a good boy, Marty! I named him Marty, actually after Martin Luther King, because Martin Luther King had a dream of freedom. And I always felt that Marty was dreaming to be free. And he was living in this abusive house, and he had a dream of bigger things.
