AI GeneratedThe 2026 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S is a high-performance sports car that masterfully balances raw power with daily usability. Featuring a 473-hp twin-turbo engine and all-wheel drive, it offers rapid acceleration and precise handling. With a luxurious, highly customizable interior and advanced technology, it serves as both a track-capable machine and a comfortable grand tourer.
What's going on YouTube? So of course the Porsche 911 is an absolute icon for car enthusiasts all
around the globe and there are many versions to choose from and today we have the privilege of
spending time with the 2026 Carrera 4S which is returning to the lineup with new features this
year. So is this 911 better than ever and should it be worried about the new Corvette? Well let's
go ahead find out. All right so let's get things started here with a quick spec dump. Of course
we're in the back because this is a 911 after all and we've got a three liter twin turbocharged
flat six. It's back with more power than before 473 horsepower. It's paired to an 8-speed PDK
dual clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive and we have 20 miles per gallon combined.
Now the base price of the Carrera is $135,000. This 4S starts at $165,000 and if you're looking
to buy one or any vehicle we would encourage you to go to carconfections.com slash newcarquotes to
get the best price. Now of course we are going to be taking this out for an extensive test drive
later on but first we need to look at the exterior as was the beautiful cab. Now before we jump into
the exterior here I do want to say a special thanks to our friend Andrew. He is loaning us
his beautiful 911 today which he just purchased. It is a brand new model. Now let's talk about that
because this is the first year that the refreshed elements have been applied to the 4S model.
You'll see a few little tweaks but of course this is a 911 after all. It's iconic so not too many
things are going to change that overall design I think ever. So of course up here in the front
you've got that simple smooth grille. It's going to be very focused on aerodynamics and by the way
you can get a lift on this model that is optioned onto this tester and goes up about one and a half
inches to help you get over speed bumps and things like that. But really one of the biggest things
about the refresh you'll notice is the updated headlights. These are the new HD matrix headlights
so they've got that quad beam design. It looks very premium. These also are cornering and have
some animations. Now as we walk to the back the iconic shape of course continues but with a few
tweaks this year. Yeah it is a beautiful rear end and let's break down some of those individual
design touches. You're seeing one of the biggest ones right now. That's of course that we have the
power deploying spoiler. Right now we have it extended out but of course you can give it a
little bit more of a flush look if you'd prefer to keep that in. And as far as the taillights now
Porsche lets you customize a lot of different things. These are the exclusive design taillights
and of course as expected every single element is LED. That includes your brake light your turn
signal and your reverse light and it's really a beautiful overall design. Now as we drop down
here are some changes for 2026. We have of course an aggressive lower diffuser but standard this
year is a sport exhaust system with the silver exhaust outlets. However we have option to give
them the black finish on this model and we need to take a listen to it. Moving on to the wheels of
course you've got a lot of different options. You can really customize almost anything with the 911
to whatever you prefer. You are going to have 20 inch alloys up here in the front 21s in the back
and you can see that popping out prominently are there are red brake calipers here. These have been
upsized this year from the previous GTS model on the 4S here and of course you have high performance
tires as well. Now moving up here to our mirrors you're going to see the full suite of things for a
luxury vehicle including blind spot monitoring power folding and auto dimming. Now at the side
besides the beautiful silhouette this vehicle comes in at 178.8 inches in overall length and
of course we have the coupe model however the 4S is available in both targa and cabriolet versions
as well if you prefer a different body style than this. Now the paint color that you're looking at
on this tester is oak green metallic it's absolutely stunning here in person and let's talk
about your safety systems you're going to get two out of four active safety features as standard
equipment on the 911 furthermore in the premium package you can add things of course like adaptive
cruise control which is what we've done but there's a beautiful cabin on the inside let's talk
about that but first if you're new here we're brothers and we've been reviewing cars since we
we started young and since then we've reviewed over 2,000 cars at every price point
no matter what you're looking for from sound level readings to cargo measurements
we'd love for you to subscribe to be a part of our car confections family
let's learn a lot and have some fun with all the latest cars now it's time to check out the cabin
first here's our porsche key fob it's the typical brand key fob with that nice looking silhouette
obviously smart entry system as you'd expect as we walk up to the vehicle this does have an
electronic door handle so you can just reach behind there that will pop out the door handle
and then you can open it up and check out the interior now guys this is an absolutely stunning
interior and like i was saying with the outside the inside just as much you can customize
absolutely anything you can see and that of course includes things like the color of the seats
this is the truffle brown interior color we've got the club leather so it is of course a genuine
leather and we have the adaptive sport bucket seats so these are going to be you know fairly
aggressive in terms of the bolstering you can see that it's definitely going to hold you in place
as you drive around but you have the full gamut of adjustments you actually have 18 ways of
adjustments kind of tucked down here you can't see quite all of them but all the things are going
to be customizable including even a thigh extension of course you have memory seats
as well located over there on the door trim and let's go ahead and climb inside now closing up
the door let's look around at the rest of the interior now one of those 2026 changes is the
fact that the extended leather package now is standard equipment so that means you're going
to have leather pretty much everywhere you would touch including down here across the door trim
through the center section with the stitching details and even all along the upper part of
the door trim that's going to continue up here to the upper part of the dashboard with three
different stitching and details in the matching truffle brown you've got some aluminum trim
through here more of the brown leather through here some piano black around the shifter and then
some aluminum trim through there and you also have some padding for your knee to rest against
on the center console but this is a porsche after all so our push button start is located over here
on the left side of the steering wheel that definitely sounds good right at startup let's
jump into some individual features of the interior of course what you're looking at here is a digital
gauge cluster it's about 12.6 inches it's got really crisp graphics and it's got all those
you know expected gauges that porsche is known for that panel of gauge cluster right there even
though it is a digital setup now as we pull back to the steering wheel we've got the sport design
steering wheel again finished in the matching truffle leather it's absolutely beautiful now
the wheel itself is power tilt and telescoping we also have the available heating now it is a sports
car after all but 911s are known to be pretty everyday livable so let's check out the interior
storage situation not a ton you'll see inside we have a wireless phone charging pad this is a new
standard feature by the way for 2026 and you've got a couple usb connections but as far as the
donut test that's going to be one maximum so maybe i don't even think that would fit actually with
the way it would be compressed you have a cup holder here you also get another cup holder on
the passenger side that pops out right there uh you know but other than that not any real storage
you can of course use the back seats though for storage and of course the front as well
now as we move forward next place we arrive at is the shifter it's the electronic style
just pull back for drive you can press the m there for manual shifting and of course we have
paddle shifters on the steering wheel we have the black finish for the genuine aluminum paddle
shifters they feel absolutely fantastic heading into reverse here is the available 360 degree
camera system as you can see really crisp graphics nice overhead view as well and then
just press that p there for park now behind the shifter you'll notice some other controls
uh one of the big ones of course is the fact we have heated seats and we also have the available
ventilated seats again adding to that everyday livability of this model and then in front of
the shifter you've got several more controls you've got these really nice toggles here
for your climate control of course dual zone automatic again very clicky and nice to the touch
and then next to that we have a volume knob for our audio system so we've got the highest
in audio system on board it's a 13 speaker 915 watt burmester premium audio system
let's give it a sample right now
oh yeah if you grow tired of listening to the exhaust sound this sound system is phenomenal
this obviously is a fairly small cabin and it just really sounds awesome inside of here
now we'll keep on going up here you'll see another row of buttons this is for
your front lift system and then your sport exhaust this is a button i'd be pushing
quite often and then of course we've got our infotainment screen unlike a lot of vehicles
not a big focus of this car you've got just a 10.9 inch display but it's got all the things
that you would expect including wireless android auto apple carplay and built-in navigation and
then of course you can press the little porsche there and this gives you all of those different
types of controls that you might want to access up at the top we've got our you know really cool
stopwatch that's an option auto dimming mirror and then lastly here you can get an available
moonroof you can get it both in body color or you can choose to get the glass finish
we have the traditional glass option now i normally handle things like the rear seat area
and like drew mentioned actually on the inside we do have rear seats so in order to get back here
all you have to do is locate that little strap right there and then you can slide the seat forward
by pressing this button here and that will show you what your rear seats look like this is actually
a zero cost option that's pretty rare for a porsche honestly to have something that costs zero
dollars of course it's not going to be a super nice rear seat in terms of like an adult fitting
back there however if you have kids or whatever i imagine they can easily fit back there and of
course it's going to be a fun car to ride in so they might want to sacrifice their space just for
the fun now in typical porsche fashion we do have a frunk because of course the engine takes up the
rear and in terms of this area we're sitting at about 4.8 cubic feet of cargo capacity so
overall that's honestly not half bad when it comes to practicality it's definitely enough
for a couple weekend banks for a weekend trip or something like that it's not going to be super
practical but i imagine you might have another vehicle in your garage that you could use as
maybe a cayenne or something if you really need a lot of space and of course uh we would encourage
you to go to carinfections.com such vehicle rankings because we've looked at a lot of
different vehicle segments and you can cross shop and see the best options in each of those
categories depending on what category is most important to you so be sure to check that out
on our website but guys i am super excited to take this out for a spin so let's go ahead and get to
it well guys here we are behind the wheel of the porsche 911 of course we're very excited about
this test driver and we'll be discussing all you can see on the screen right now but first we need
to start with a hard acceleration because that's of course a highlight
well that was 60 in a blink of an eye literally
wow yeah so that's that's fun obviously the 911 Carrera 4S is quite the experience
and you know for 2026 Porsche said it needs more power so that's why they gave it 473 horsepower
from the three liter twin turbo flat six oh my gosh absolutely iconic and it sounds fantastic as
well yeah it just slams you back into your seat this is basically the gts's powertrain here in
the 4S for the 2026 model year and as far as 0 to 60 when you check off the sport chronos package
that gets you to 60 in 3.1 seconds so that's what we have on today's model now that was just a
regular acceleration not launch control or anything like that but overall just absolutely floors you
now of course there are a plethora of other engine options in the 911 family they go all the way up
to turbo s's and gt3s and you know we're going to be focusing in today on just the Carrera 4S
because that's the model that we're reviewing of course this has a variety of price points as well
you can really get this basically as expensive as you want it but i think this is a great mix
especially now that they've added the gts's 473 horsepower into this model i really feel
like this Carrera 4S is more than anyone could even want or desire
now as we mentioned we've got the 8-speed pdk that's a dual clutch automatic transmission
and pdk is famous for just how fast the shifts are it's absolutely
insane how fast you can blast off up shifts and down shifts with this transmission
um let me just check this out with the paddle shifters it's crazy
absolutely seamless now we're driving around of course in the sport mode we've got the sport
exhaust on you know this is kind of this vehicle's natural environment
oh
that's right that's launch control yeah we can like twice as fast i tell you
yeah you know Porsche is notorious for underselling the 0-60 3.1 seconds is 3.1
understating it for sure it's definitely in the twos i i feel very strongly of that
wow yeah and you know that demonstrates i think as well why Porsche says about 50%
of people who get the Carrera S choose the 4S because of that four-wheel drive traction
you can do stuff like that and you feel you know more reassured of course by having the
all-wheel drive system you can really put that power down and use it to its maximum capability
without you know being an expert driver per se all right so i flipped over to the driver's seat
and that's to quickly talk about the dynamics because when it comes to a 911 would it really
be a review if we didn't talk about what it's like on a back road like this you probably already
know if you're watching this video but it's an absolute joy so right now we have it in the sport
mode and you know guys we review a lot of cars we have reviewed thousands of cars in our years of
doing youtube for a living and i have to say this is hands down the best driver's car and it it
really just continues to impress me every time we're behind the wheel of a 911 it is incredibly
impressive the there is really no other vehicle on the market that has steering quite as accurate
and responsive as this and you can just clearly see that demonstrated when you take a corner with
some speed this is truly one of those vehicles that you get behind the wheel and you could drive
incredibly fast and feel completely comfortable doing so the level of confidence that this vehicle
gives you is unrivaled by nearly any other vehicle on the market there is a zero body roll when you
go around a corner just look at how accurate this steering is the tires super sticky i mean and this
is just a regular career or regular carrera 4s this is not like a 911 gt3 or anything like that
and it still has so much performance baked in it is awesome right i mean like this this you're
getting that like 95 performance package and then you also have the everyday livability to go along
with it it's really just incredible you know the steering you can feel it if you move it a millimeter
you get that response yeah seats are comfortable but the bolstering is good to really hold you in
place just phenomenal an absolute joy the brakes also feel incredibly strong and of course we
actually don't have them on this model but you can get carbon ceramics i believe they're a $12,000
option but if that's something you're interested in that of course would help you to stop even
better as much as it pains me to put it back into normal mode i did go ahead and do that and the
reason being so i can talk about the suspension now of course we have the adaptive chassis so
that means that we have customizable modes we are in the sport plus for that last acceleration and
now that we put ourselves into the normal mode i have to say i'm very impressed we've been in
several other 911s at this point and one of the great things about this is it's a fantastic
grand touring vehicle so you can do absolutely crazy performance like what we just did but when
you toggle it back into the normal mode it really does feel like a luxury vehicle this is certainly
something that you can take on a multi-hour road trip and you're going to arrive perfectly
comfortable now is it as comfortable as a cayenne or something like that absolutely not but it still
is going to be very comfortable overall also i will say that these seats really hug me in and i
love the way they feel now also while we are in this normal mode i do want to get things like our
sound level reading as well so you can see how quiet it is on the daily so we'll speed up to 55
miles per hour and we'll see just how quiet it is if i can get the sound level reader out of the
door there we go 58.9 decibels is what we are sitting at so overall that's going to be a very
quiet cabin especially for a vehicle with this level of performance of course it does get a lot
louder if you put the sport exhaust on and we don't have to sit here and guess how it compares
to other rivals that you could be looking at you can find all that at carconfections.com
slash sound level readings and when we do that you can see that you know it's not the quietest
coupe that we've tested on the channel however i will say and probably argue that it's one of
the quietest vehicles that we've ever been in that has a top speed of 190 miles an hour
yeah i mean that level of performance you typically don't get anything near this level
of luxury on the inside yeah i mean we're just going down the highway right now you know we're
in eighth gear it's pretty serene i have to say but what about the fuel economy well it's going
to be sitting at 20 miles per gallon combined if you choose rear drive or all-wheel drive
and one thing that's notable is the fact that you have a 16.6 gallon fuel tank which means that you
actually have quite good fuel range for those longer trips that you can be taking in this car
let's talk about today's slam dunk and airball i'm gonna start with the slam dunk so many options
right i guess what we're gonna say is 2026 improvements because you know this is a sports
car that like we said is iconic it's basically perfection yeah and then they keep finding ways
to make it more perfect yeah that is for sure i love the updates that they've done to this and on
the flip side the airball is going to be well the price i think porsche knows they have something
really good going on here and they do raise the price significantly every single year the fact
that the model that we're sitting in right now is sitting at around 210 000 as tested is certainly
pretty eye-watering and does mean that it's out of reach of most people now of course pricing so
we start at 135 000 for the very base carrera model now this is the 4s so this is going to
ring you in at 164 500 now that's before options and porsches always have a lot of options that's
what we've gone for on this particular model you can see all those on the screen right now if you'd
like to pause and check out the individual features that this model has but we're sitting
at 210 000 as tested today now of course this vehicle is assembled in germany and if you're
the reason you should do that is because we have a tool on our website that will connect you with
local car dealers in your area to get you the best price it's also going to give you access
to invoice pricing information which is a great tool to use if you plan on doing any dealership
negotiation you can take advantage of all of that as well as things like our monthly payment
calculator on our website carconfections.com slash new car quotes but what about the resale value
reliability and warranty first up let's talk about resale value porsche as a brand is rated
at 51.8 of estimated retained value after five years and 60 000 miles and after 10 years and
120 000 miles 25.8 now it's worth noting those are actually above industry average for all vehicle
brands and it is very close to the very best luxury brand also when you're talking about an
iconic car like the 911 it does tend to have very good resale value it also has very good reliability
as a brand porsche is rated as one of the top luxury automakers and is above the overall industry
average against all automakers now if you'd like to learn more about all that you can find that on
our website carconfections.com now when it comes to your warranty you have a four-year 50 000 mile
basic and powertrain warranty porsche does include one year and 10 000 miles of complementary
